Abstract Resonant modes of high contrast dielectric disk have finite Q-factors in the subwavelength range due to radiation leakage into the surrounding space. That leakage can be reduced considerably (a few times) by exploiting of the mechanism of destructive interference of two modes for avoided crossing of resonances (ACR) (Rybin et al. M. V. Rybin, K. L. Koshelev, Z. F. Sadrieva, et al., “High-Q Supercavity Modes in Subwavelength Dielectric Resonators,” Phys. Rev. Lett., vol. 119, p. 243901, 2017.). In the present paper we report suppression of radiation leakage by a few orders in magnitude via the ACR in the structure of three and four different coaxial disks. For fine multi-scale tuning of disks we reveal the ultrahigh-Q resonances of order 105 for the case of three disks and of order 106 for the case of four coaxial disks of equal radii.

Purpose. This article proposes to analyze and determine the mining design for shallow-dip deposits hosted in poor quality rock. Methods. We used the UBC tool to find the optimal exploitation method, the Rock mass rating (RMR) and Q-system (Q) to determine the optimal mining stope and the recommended rock support, the numerical modeling by RS2 software with a variety of geotechnical, geometrical, and technical conditions to analyze the evolution of the unstable zone width and the maximum total displacement around the stope after excavation. Findings. The optimum mining method designated by the UBC tool for this type of deposit is the cut and fill. By projecting the obtained RMR and Q-system values on the design graph, it is concluded that the operating stope is located in the stable zone with a height of 3 m, and bolting support is recommended. The simulation by RS2 software reveals that the optimal mining design that can be used to mine shallow-dip vein deposits hosted in poor quality rocks consists of a 3 m high stope and a 75° dip with cemented backfill. Originality. This work presents a study to choose the most suitable underground mining method and mine design for shallow-dip deposits hosted in poor quality rock. Practical implications. In the mining industry, the success of operating an underground mine is conditioned by the selection of the appropriate method, of the mining design and dimensioning of a rock support adapted to the nature of the rock, and excavation geometry according to the type and nature of the deposit.

The aim of the study was to analyze the effectiveness of treatment of patients using the Twin-Forse apparatus in adulthood. A case of a 25-year-old patient was treated with a retroposition of the lower jaw, distal occlusion of the posterior teeth, sagittal incisal disocclusion, deep incisal disocclusion, narrowing of the deformation of the dental alveolar arches, protrusion of the upper and lower incisors, crowded position of the lower teeth. Fixed orthodontic appliances of the Damon Q system (Ormco, USA) were used. Half a year after the fixation of the bracket system, a Twin-Forse apparatus (Ortho Organizers Inc., USA) was installed. After half a year of wearing, the device was removed, the patient was assigned to wear intermaxillary elastics to achieve maximum fissure-tubercular contacts. It has been found that the use of the Twin-Forse device in adult patients helps to achieve optimal functional and aesthetic results.

Abstract Background To assess current use of the Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantification (POP-Q) system in clinical practice among Korean obstetrician-gynecologists. Methods A web-based questionnaire was sent to 780 Korean Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology members. The items evaluated in the questionnaire were demographic characteristics and current use of the POP-Q system in the evaluation of pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and surgical decision-making. Differences between POP-Q users and nonusers were analyzed by using the two-sample t-test and chi-squared test. Results One hundred twenty-six members (16%) responded to the survey. Of the respondents, 48% reported using the POP-Q system in the evaluation of POP. Members who were female, urogynecologists, or performed a high volume of prolapse surgery were more likely to use the POP-Q system (p < 0.05). All but one of the POP-Q users reported using the specific criteria to determine whether each compartmental prolapse should be corrected during prolapse surgery. Most respondents used stage 2 or the hymen as a threshold for prolapse to be corrected for all compartments. Conclusions Less than half of Korean obstetrician-gynecologists use the POP-Q system in the evaluation of POP. Almost all of POP-Q users make a surgical decision based on the results of the POP-Q examination.

The purpose of the research was to study the frequency of erythrocyte antigens of 9 genetic systems, the number of genotypes and the frequency of alleles in the F-V system in sires Simmental and Red-and-White breeds, as well as to establish the index of genetic similarity between them. The characteristics of 106 sires Simmental and 103 Red-and-White breeds in OJSC “Barnaulskoe” Stud bull farm have been given according to the frequency of erythrocyte antigens of 9 genetic systems. 53 antiserums have been used in the tests. The high occurrence of erythrocyte antigens A2 (system A), B2, G2, O1, Y2, G’, O’, and Q’ (system B), C2, E, W, X2 (system C), S1, H’ (system S), and Z (system Z) has been found in the sires of both breeds and ranged from 0,204 (O’) to 0,825 (X2) in Red-and-White bulls. The maximum frequency of the F antigen was and it was 0,874 in Red-and-White and 0,906 in Simmental bulls. On the contrary, the occurrence of blood factors B1, I1, I2, O2, P1, P2, Q, T1, T2, I’, D’, J2’, K’, P1’, P2’, Y’, B”, G”, R1, J, H, U and U’ was signifi cantly lower and amounted to 0–0,107 in Red-and-White sires and 0–0,094 in Simmental sires. Only 42 erythrocyte antigens have been detected in Red-and-White bulls using 53 antiserums, and 44 antigens have been detected in Simmental bulls. The index of genetic similarity between Red-and-White and Simmental sires calculated according to A. S. Serebrovsky was quite high and amounted to 0,8765, which is understandable because the maternal breed when breeding Red-and-White breed was Simmental breed. The number of genotypes and the frequency of alleles in the F-V genetic system also revealed a great similarity between these breeds, a significant difference has been found only in the number of heterozygous animals.
