In this study, we examine the effects of gender, generation, and the interaction between gender and generation on Korean accountants’ perception of career success. With the large survey data collected from 1,000 accountants working in South Korea, we found that Korean female accountants have higher perceived importance of work-life balance dimension of career success than male accountants; and younger generations (Millennials or younger) have higher perceived importance for this dimension than older generations (Generation X or older). No interaction effects between gender and generation were found in relation to the perceived importance of work-life balance dimension of career success. Specifically, female accountants had higher perceived importance of work-life balance than their male counterparts regardless of generation; and while the mean was higher for younger generations the gap between the female accountants’ means and the male accountants’ means of work-life balance dimension has not been reduced. The insignificant interaction effects between gender and generation regarding the perceived level of the work-life balance dimension of career success suggest that, despite the national and organizational efforts in changing the gender discriminating practices, Korean accounting field may still be making a very slow progress in breaking its glass ceiling.

The protean career attitude (PCA) is an emerging proactive career attitude and an essential source for successful career development. However, to do so, the individuals also must employ proactive career behaviors at work to achieve desired career outcomes. The study proposes that the individuals with protean career attitudes employ best work practices through job crafting behaviors and attain desired career outcomes. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of protean career attitudes on career outcomes, i.e., Perceived Employability (PE) and Subjective Career Success (SCS) through job crafting behavior. The data from the employees working in the universities of Pakistan revealed that PCA has a positive impact on individual career outcomes. It was also found that there exists a pathway of serial mediation from job crafting towards perceived employability to achieve career success. The individuals who craft their jobs are more likely to enhance their employability, ultimately leading to career success. The study highlights the importance of PCA and Job Crafting behaviors, yet un-explored phenomena, for the employees for career development.

Due to increased trend in job transitions, prospects of occupation these days are difficult to predict. Therefore, workers need to develop differentiated set of skills and competences to be able to adapt to a variety of available occupations. The volatility in employability due to ever changing technologies, business environments and models need to focus on becoming lifelong learners not only to maintain their employability but to create more opportunities for themselves. This situation has affected work like of people in a way that the careers no more belong to the organizations but to individual. According to the literature on boundaryless careers, there are three types of variables that can be used to predict career success. Combinations of these three variables are generally referred to as career competencies. Theoretical research reveals that 'understanding why, ‘whom,' and 'how' are the three most important indicators of career success. The findings demonstrate that proactive career behaviors are predicted by future work self and identity resolution. Future work self has a significant positive impact on employment status and, as a result, can lead to future employment success. The findings also revealed that future work self predicts career planning the most. Career consultation is the second most reliable indicator of future employment. Future work self can also forecast proactive skill improvement and proactive career consulting. The study showed results that identity resolution predicts career planning the most. Identity resolution also predicts proactive skill development, career consultation and proactive career networking.

The article analyzes the educational and professional trajectories of women leaders. The study is based on an approach to the educational and professional trajectory as part of the life path. The empirical basis of the study was 20 video interviews published on the website of the news aggregator MediaMetrics, which were conducted as part of programs about women's career success. The intentional characteristics of female successful trajectories are empirically investigated on the basis of narratives. The author uses intent analysis to show how women leaders explain their career paths. As a result of the research, educational and professional scenarios realized by women are formulated, as well as their discursive justifications. Women become leaders due to the implementation of the diachronic educational and qualification scenario of a business idea.

Success in a career is everyone's dream, and it is not an exception for Information Technology graduates who are engaged in information technology-related jobs. Several studies have documented the role of the following two (2) constructs, namely Career Competence (CC) and Lecturer Competence (LC), in Career Success (CS). The authors believe that University Commitment (UC) must be included in this list. This research aims at developing a model that explains and measures the relationship amongst those four (4) constructs. The model that will be developed is based on the Structural Equations Modelling Technique. Respondents participating in this research are IT graduates working in IT-related jobs who have graduated from three (3) private universities in Bandung (Indonesia), namely, Maranatha Christian University (UKM), Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR), and Harapan Bangsa Institute of Technology (ITHB)) with graduating years ranging from 2006 to 2018. The collected data will be processed using IBM SPSS AMOS. This research proves that firstly, LC influences both UC and CC, secondly, UC influences CC, and lastly, CC affects CS. Further hope this model can be developed for other universities in Indonesia to increase Lecture Competency and University Commitments by the strategic plans of each university.   Respondents participating in this research are IT graduates working in IT-related jobs who have graduated from three (3) private universities in Bandung (Indonesia), namely, Maranatha Christian University (UKM), Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR), and Harapan Bangsa Institute of Technology (ITHB)) with graduating years range from 2006 to 2018. Previous studies have shown that leader narcissism has a significant impact on the effectiveness of a leader and employee behaviors; however, research on career outcomes of employees is still inadequate. This study explores the effects of leader narcissism on the career success of employees from an interpersonal relationship perspective and examines the mediating role of supervisor-subordinate conflict and the moderating role of dominant personality traits of employees. Data from 291 employees in Chinese companies have revealed that leader narcissism, directly and indirectly, affects the career success of employees through supervisor-subordinate relationship conflict. However, dominant personality traits of employees strengthen the impact of leader narcissism on supervisor-subordinate relationship conflict. The theoretical and practical implications of the findings of this study are further discussed.
