This article explores implementation science with a focus on the strategies leaders use to address organizational challenges. Part of a larger study, we employed a qualitative multiple case study design of 20 charter schools to contribute to an evidence base about how leadership at the charter school and charter management organization levels can influence their school communities regarding commitment to students with disabilities. From our exploratory research, key themes emerged that align with effective leadership strategies for implementation demonstrating the positive influence of leaders who prioritize students with disabilities by maintaining a clear vision and strong sense of purpose, creating a safe environment where diversity of perspectives is encouraged, and making sure all voices are heard and valued. Public schools across the nation can leverage lessons learned from the charter sector, as leaders work to ensure that their school practices and policies support success for students with disabilities. By ensuring that school leaders are trained and supported to use effective leadership strategies, policymakers, and schools of higher education can influence the adoption and advancement of innovative and effective practices.

ABSTRACT Introduction There is a gap in the nursing literature about the significant contributions of executive military nurse leaders to the advancement of nursing as a profession and into interprofessional leadership roles. Many executive military nurse leaders have demonstrated the value of nursing leadership in non-traditional roles and paved the way to expand the leadership opportunities for nurses who would follow. The purpose of this study is to explore the personal stories, experiences, leadership strategies, and lessons learned through the eyes of the first nurse to achieve the rank of Major General in the U.S. Air Force. Materials and Methods The oral history method guided the exploration of participant memories and experiences. In compliance with the Oral History Association guidelines, the investigator obtained Institution Review Board permission, informed consent, and audiotaped interviews. An expert panel provided feedback on the appropriate language use in semi-structured interview questions with Air Force nurse executives. The oral history method provided a framework for the semi-structured interview and analysis. Active listening techniques such as exploration, clarifying, and paraphrasing helped foster deep listening. A graduate research assistant transcribed the 4-hour interview verbatim. The primary investigator emailed a copy of the transcript to the participant to verify accuracy and clarify content. Analysis involved examination and interpretation of the professional, military, nursing, and participant’s personal perspective to enhance historical understanding. Three independent coders extracted prevalent themes and subthemes during analysis. Results Repetitive major themes of courage, figuring it out, and winning others over emerged during data analysis. The major theme of courage has corresponding subthemes of tenacity, risk-taking, and re-writing the narrative. The major theme of figuring it out has subthemes of optimism, creativity, connectedness, learning, and managing change. Lastly, the winning others over theme has subthemes of emotional intelligence, teamwork, role-model/mentor, and moving from outsider to insider. The leadership strategies of taking calculated risks while remaining calm, being open to opportunities that she had never considered, and spending time learning new skills contributed to repeated advancement into higher leadership positions not previously held by a nurse within the U.S. Air Force. Conclusion The interview is packed full of leadership lessons that are just as relative today as 20 years ago. This presentation will conclude with a discussion of the most effective leadership strategies, the lasting impact of the leadership accomplishments, and current implications for nurse leaders today.

Identifying school leadership strategies to support students learning from home during the pandemic is the core objective of this study. To answer the problem above, we have reviewed dozens of publications interested in discussing educational disruption during the outbreaks where the effect of the disruption forces students to study from home with all the problems that arise. We get the data from an online search, and we study it with a phenomenological approach. We evaluate the data with a coding system to know what and how school leadership responds to the pandemic. Based on the data and the discussion, we found that many things must and have been done by the school that does not have to wait for the direction of policy superiors from the central state. The support provided is, for example, teachers and school boards assisting students and guiding how to prevent students and parents from panicking through the disrupted period of the pandemic. Schools do not force students with assignments and work, but teachers should encourage collaborative learning with parents while maintaining progress. Thus, we hope this study is helpful to many parties.

This phenomenological research examined the challenges, coping mechanisms, and success stories experienced by neophyte principals. Key informants were 11 neophyte principals in the Schools Division of La Union and the City of San Fernando Schools Division during SY 2020-2021. Data gathered using a semi-structured interview guide were thematically analyzed. It was revealed that the respondents' most pressing challenges were lack of resources, and difficulties in transitioning to the new school. They addressed these situations by adopting effective leadership strategies involving a mix of professional and technical skills, conceptual skills, and interpersonal skills. They succeeded in strengthening collaboration among the school stakeholders, in achieving school development and improvement goals, and in improving students' academic achievement. It was concluded that the neophyte principals develop improved leadership skills and management practices which enabled them some impressive accomplishments in their respective schools, and gained the cooperation from the teachers, parents, and other stakeholders. Based on these findings, the researcher developed a conceptual model which can be used as a guide in attaining self-efficiency in leadership and management among the neophyte principals. In addition, the researcher also crafted a two-day supportive seminar on developing proactive collaboration between the school and other stakeholders of quality education.

This paper explores how teacher leaders enact leadership practice across a regional learning network, Master Teacher Studios, an officially initiated teacher learning program in Shanghai. It investigates the leadership strategies that are employed for cross-boundary endeavors in the network. The concepts of boundary and boundary crossing, as expounded by Wenger and others, are used to guide an examination of the process of teacher leadership enactment across a network, which is elucidated as interpreting the boundaries, selecting/designing boundary objects, and participating in communities of practice. The paper fosters an understanding of teacher leadership practice as boundary work in a network context, and delineates a process of teacher leadership enactment, as well as the importance of teacher leader identity in the process.
