Poverty reduction and economic development are the focus of both developed and developing countries. Internationally, cooperatives make an immense contribution to poverty reduction and economic development. However, in Namibia, agricultural cooperatives have not done much in this regard. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to identify and analyze the elements of the agricultural cooperative model as an organizational mechanism for poverty reduction and economic development. Adopting a qualitative approach with a cross-section case method as a research design, the study intends to address the research question: What are the strategies that can be implemented based on the best practices and elements of the cooperative advantage in the agricultural cooperative model as an organizational mechanism for poverty reduction for economic development? Findings reveal that cooperatives still face numerous challenges and recommendations include government and other stakeholders' support mechanisms for the provision of capital, training, and land acquisition.

A better earth is possible with cooperative advantage model for nature and humanity well being as I introduced in my prior study. I now move to make an inquiry of the economic science. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences call economics as economic science then what is science? The Quarterly Journal of Economics, as the oldest professional journal of economics, by Oxford Academic of Oxford University, Journal is Edited at Harvard University’s Department of Economics, has introduced Religion & Economics Collection with an introduction starts with three questions; 1. Does Religion affect economic growth and happiness? 2. How do societies form moral systems? 3. Do Catholic schools make a difference? Starting with this collection questions; this study make an inquiry to “re-sources in economics from the management science”.

Although scientists and philosophers have debated epistemological questions since the time of Plato and Aristotle, the term Epistemology is not usually noticed in management research as mentioned in the literature by Johnson and Duberley in 2000. However, epistemology is still not usually noticed in management research. The most commonly known epistemological approaches are interpretative and positivism. The purpose of this study is to introduce a cooperative advantage model in management by addressing epistemology. The study focuses on how competitive advantage damage humankind. The study also figures out whether Management is Science or Not. The study findings show that management in fact is science and philosophy however scholars of the 20th and 21st century have made management just a discipline based on the puzzle-solving approach introduced by Thomas Kuhn in 1962. I sincerely hope the scientific community to pay attention to this research.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to establish a supported and validated reference point for understanding how Nicodemus, Kansas warrants significant inclusion in both the history of management and current entrepreneurship education. Design/methodology/approach This paper consists of a literature review to identify the salient historical and theoretical importance of the community of Nicodemus, Kansas. The research was conducted by reviewing and couching the research in this context. Findings Nicodemus, born out of an entrepreneurial spirit of newly liberated Black Americans, is the surviving entrepreneurial force for the African-American efforts in the western US expansion efforts in the later 1800s. The community, courage and cooperative views of the settlers were instrumental in overcoming a variety of hardships inherent in the location, society and time period to not only survive but also deliver growth and success. Nicodemus personified cultural pride and self-reliance, which fueled personal and commercial success. Practical implications The cooperative advantage is justified to be included in discussions of American management history, taught in the entrepreneurship curriculum and used by practitioners. Social implications Collective courage and cooperative advantage used by Nicodemus carries implications for how modern Black communities can advance their economic and social agendas. Originality/value Coverage of Black contributions management and entrepreneurship is scant, but a Black Enlightenment period has recently changed that scholars have recently begun to cover these significant moments in the literature (Prieto and Phipps, 2019). We argue that Nicodemus as an entrepreneurial community serves as a case study that needs contextualization in this Black Enlightenment era and holds pertinent implications for modern Black communities.

This paper implements a multi-criteria approach to a decision-making based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process. The aim of this paper is to illustrate the assessment of benefits of the quality system implementation ranking the criteria for a sustainable development by the MCDM models.
