AbstractWe study for the first time the propagation of the packets of plane waves of the Maxwell free field in the de Sitter expanding universe as detected by an observer staying at rest in his proper frame with physical de Sitter–Painlevé coordinates. This observes an accelerate propagation of the wave packet along to a null geodesic, laying out a severe exponential decay and a moderate dispersion, increasing exponentially in time during propagation. The example we give is the usual anisotropic Gaussian packet for which we present a short graphical analysis pointing out the accelerated propagation, decay and dispersion. Moreover, we show that the observer perceives his horizon as a mirror stopping the wave packets prepared on it and reflecting those prepared beyond it.

In this paper, we consider the DSR-GUP which was first proposed by two of us [W. S. Chung and H. Hassanabadi, Phys. Lett. B 785, 127 (2018)]. Here, we introduce the deformed derivative corresponding to DSR-GUP to discuss the quantum mechanics based on DSR-GUP in an algebraical way. We use the deformed Fourier transform and its inverse transform to discuss the plane wave in [Formula: see text]-space and Gaussian packet. We also extend our discussion to the (1 + 1)-dimensional case. As examples, we discuss the Ramsauer–Townsend effect and delta potential.

We consider a class of models for the relativistic covariant wave packets (WPs) which can be used as asymptotically free in and out states in the quantum field theoretical formalisms for description of the neutrino flavor oscillation phenomenon. We demonstrate that the new “asymmetric” wave packet (AWP) is an appropriate alternative to the more conventional “symmetric” WPs, like the so-called relativistic Gaussian packet (RGP) widely used in the quantum field theory (QFT)-based approaches to neutrino oscillations. We show that RGP is not a particular case of AWP, although many properties of these models are almost identical in the quasistable regime. We discuss some features of AWP distinguishing it from RGP.

In this paper, we use Hermitian linear invariants and the Lewis and Riesenfeld invariant method to obtain the general solution of the Schrödinger equation for a mesoscopic RLC circuit with time-dependent resistance, inductance, capacitance and a power source and represent it in terms of an arbitrary weight function. In addition, we construct Gaussian wave packet solutions for this electromagnetic oscillation circuit and employ them to calculate the quantum fluctuations of the charge and the magnetic flux as well as the associated uncertainty product. We also show that the width of the Gaussian packet and the fluctuations do not depend on the external power.
