This paper involves synthesis new Mannich bases derived from Shiff' bases which prepared from isatin by the reaction of isatin with different aromatic amines to prepare Shiff bases derivatives (M, G, B, R, X, S), then Shiff's bases derivatives reacted with formaldehyde and piperazine to produce Mannich bases derivatives (M1, G1, B1, R1, X1, S1). The third step included the assay of biological activity of all compounds against four types of pathogens bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Granutice tella adiacens) gram positive and (E. coli, Proteus mirabilis) gram negative the results exhibited excellent biological activity for all derivatives compared to antibiotics (Ampicillin and Ciprofloxacin) these structures were identified by FT-IR,1HNMRand 13CNMR.

Schiff bases are organic compounds formed by the reaction of the primary aminewith carbonyl compounds (aldehydes or ketones). These are mainly bi- or tridentateligands capable of forming very stable complexes with transitional metals. They areused as catalysts in oxygenation, hydrolysis, electro-reduction and decompositionreactions. Many Shiff bases show significant anti-tumor, antimicrobial and antifungalactivity, which are the subject of research by many scientists in the world. In this paper Schiff base from benzidine and 1,3-diphenyl-1,3-propanedione wassynthesized. To characterize the product, FTIR spectroscopy and stereo-microscopywere used. In order to determine biological activity, antibacterial, antifungal andantioxidant activity of the product was tested. The results showed that the interaction of benzidine and 1,3-diphenylpropanedioneresults in a Schiff base showing antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant activity.

Abstract Purpose To asses the level of oxidative stress in postmenopausal women in dependence of LV structural and functional changes and its filling parameters. Methods 203 postmenopausal women were included in the investigation: 142 women with surgical menopause (average age 44,3±5,4 years, menopause duration 3,8±2,4 years); and 61 women with natural menopause (average age 46,2±4,7 years, menopause duration 4,3±2,1 years). All patients underwent general clinical examination, menopausal index evaluation, ambulatory blood pressure (BP) monitoring (Cardiotens-01, Meditech, Hungary), echocardiographic examination with systolic and diastolic left ventricular (LV) function assessment. We also measured erythrocyte thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARs), ultimate products of lipid peroxidation (Shiff bases), catalase activity and plasma general antioxidant activity. Control group consisted of 35 healthy menstruating women (mean age 39,2±4,2). Statistical methods such as Cruskell-Walles criteria and χ2 test were used. Results Only 39 postmenopausal women (19,2%) had normal LV geometry; 89 pts (43,8%) demonstrated LV concentric hypertrophy, 57 pts (28,1%) – concentric remodeling and 18 women (8,9%) –eccentric hypertrophy. All postmenopausal women showed signs of activation of oxidative stress while reducing the power of antioxidant protection systems, however, these changes were most pronounced in groups of patients with eccentric and especially concentric LV hypertrophy Nobody of included postmenopausal women had LV systolic function failure. Presence of LV diastolic function disturbance was the same in the patients with surgical and natural menopause (54,1% (33 pts) and 59,1% (84 pts), respectively, p=0,231) and did not depend on BP level: 59,1% (52 pts) in hypertensive and 56,5% (65 pts) in normotensive women, p=0,118. We detected that Shiff bases level in postmenopausal women with diastolic dysfunction was increased in 1,5 times in comparison with healthy menstruating women and in 1,3 times in comparison with those postmenopausal women who had no diastolic function disturbance (p<0,01). The level of erythrocyte TBARs in this group was increased in 1,3 and 1,2 times respectively (p<0,05). Erythrocyte catalase activity and plasma general antioxidant activity were decreased in all postmenopausal women in comparison with healthy ones (p<0,01). The presence of LV diastolic dysfunction correlated positively with erythrocyte Shiff bases level (τ=0,47, p<0,01) and negatively – with erythrocyte catalase activity and plasma general antioxidant activity (τ=−0,35 and τ=−0,35, p<0,01 respectively) Conclusions Thus, oxidative stress may play important role in left ventricular remodeling and diastolic dysfunction formation in postmenopausal women.

<div><p><em>We report herein synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial activity of four Shiff bases derived from hexamethylenediamine. Substitution of a nitro group on each aromatic ring in ortho, meta or para positions of N,N'-bis(phenylmethyl)hexane-1,6-diimineallowed to have a homogeneous series of positional isomers. These four symmetric diimine Schiff bases were characterized by conventional spectrometry methods (NMR, IR, MS), then tested against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains. Among them, compounds <strong>1b</strong>, <strong>1c</strong>, <strong>1d</strong> were found to be active against bacterial strain Staphylococcus aureus CIP with MIC value of 375</em><em>μ</em><em>g/ ml, 187.5</em><em>μ</em><em>g /ml and 375</em><em>μ</em><em>g /ml respectively. Candida Albicans fungal strain showed resistance to all synthesized Schiff base compounds, butin the other hand, Candida glabrata has been sensitive to all compounds with MIC of 1500</em><em>μ</em><em>g/ ml and one more time except <strong>1a</strong>.</em></p></div>

The present work involved two steps: the first step include Mannich reaction was carried out on 2- mercaptobenzimidazole using formaldehyde and different secondary amine or amide to gives the compounds(2-16). The secnd step include preparation of (Ethylbenzimidazoly-2-mercaptoacetate)(17) from the reaction of 2- mercaptobenzimidazole with ethylchloroacetate than prepared hydrazide derivative[18]from reaction of compound(17) with hydrazinehydrate. Followed Preparation of shiff bases(19-24) and there reaction with mercaptoacetic acid to give a new compounds containing thiazolidinderivetives(25-30).Structure confirmation of all prepared compound were proved using FTIR and element analysis (C.H.N.S) and mesurmentedmelting point.

In this research we prepared shiff bases unilateral claw( benzyl imine aniline ) and Bilateral claw ( benzayal-2-imine phenol ) in high purity reach to 98% , which it's prepared from aromatic amine with aldehydes, it's solid, thermosetting, not dissolved in water in general. Diagnosed prepared article by using infra red spectroscopy (IR) which shows azomethen grop at 1640cm-1 At this diagnosis we suggest tetra headral mechanism in this Circumstances For a reaction.
