The significant similarity between the hidden target and the background makes it difficult to find camouflaged people, such as warriors in warfare, or even camouflaged objects in natural environments. Hence, it is hard to ascertain these concealed targets. To address this issue, a novel deep neural network is proposed in this paper that produces an estimated mask within the hidden target for an input image. Our approach consists of two phases: hidden target segmentation and hidden target identification. For the first phase, we propose the Multilevel Attention Network (MA-Net), which generates the camouflaged target mask based on a Multi-Attention Module (MAM) that helps distinguish the hidden people from the background. Later on, the concealed target will be highlighted in the second phase. Experimental results on the camouflaged people dataset demonstrate that our proposed method can achieve state-of-the-art performance for hidden target detection.

The synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image preprocessing techniques and their impact on target recognition performance are researched. The performance of SAR target recognition is improved by composing a variety of preprocessing techniques. The preprocessing techniques achieve the effects of suppressing background redundancy and enhancing target characteristics by processing the size and gray distribution of the original SAR image, thereby improving the subsequent target recognition performance. In this study, image cropping, target segmentation, and image enhancement algorithms are used to preprocess the original SAR image, and the target recognition performance is effectively improved by combining the above three preprocessing techniques. On the basis of image enhancement, the monogenic signal is used for feature extraction and then the sparse representation-based classification (SRC) is used to complete the decision. The experiments are conveyed on the moving and stationary target acquisition and recognition (MSTAR) dataset, and the results prove that the combination of multiple preprocessing techniques can effectively improve the SAR target recognition performance.

Bidirectional in recent years, Deep learning performance in natural scene image processing has improved its use in remote sensing image analysis. In this paper, we used the semantic segmentation of remote sensing images for deep neural networks (DNN). To make it ideal for multi-target semantic segmentation of remote sensing image systems, we boost the Seg Net encoder-decoder CNN structures with index pooling & U-net. The findings reveal that the segmentation of various objects has its benefits and drawbacks for both models. Furthermore, we provide an integrated algorithm that incorporates two models. The test results indicate that the integrated algorithm proposed will take advantage of all multi-target segmentation models and obtain improved segmentation relative to two models.

Artificial intelligence (AI) transforms medical images into high-throughput mineable data. Machine learning algorithms, which can be designed for modeling for lesion detection, target segmentation, disease diagnosis, and prognosis prediction, have markedly promoted precision medicine for clinical decision support. There has been a dramatic increase in the number of articles, including articles on ultrasound with AI, published in only a few years. Given the unique properties of ultrasound that differentiate it from other imaging modalities, including real-time scanning, operator-dependence, and multi-modality, readers should pay additional attention to assessing studies that rely on ultrasound AI. This review offers the readers a targeted guide covering critical points that can be used to identify strong and underpowered ultrasound AI studies.

The energy functional of the CV and LBF model is single, which makes the curve to get into the local minimum easily during the evolution process, and results inaccurate segmentation of the images with nonuniform grayscale and nonsmooth edges. The proposed algorithm, which is based on local entropy fitting under the constraint of nonconvex regularization term, is used to deal with such problems. In this algorithm, global information and local entropy are fitted to avoid segmentation falling into local optimum, and nonconvex regularization term is imported for constraint to protect edge smoothing. First, global information is used to evolve the approximate contour curve of the target segmentation. Then, a local energy functional with local entropy information is constructed to avoid the segmentation process from falling into a local minimum, and to precisely segment the image. Finally, nonconvex regularization terms are used in the energy functional to protect the smoothness of edge information during image segmentation process. The experimental results clearly indicate that the new algorithm can effectively resist noise, precisely segment images with nonuniform grayscale, and achieve the global optimal.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to propose a new video prediction-based methodology to solve the manufactural occlusion problem, which causes the loss of input images and uncertain controller parameters for the robot visual servo control. Design/methodology/approach This paper has put forward a method that can simultaneously generate images and controller parameter increments. Then, this paper also introduced target segmentation and designed a new comprehensive loss. Finally, this paper combines offline training to generate images and online training to generate controller parameter increments. Findings The data set experiments to prove that this method is better than the other four methods, and it can better restore the occluded situation of the human body in six manufactural scenarios. The simulation experiment proves that it can simultaneously generate image and controller parameter variations to improve the position accuracy of tracking under occlusions in manufacture. Originality/value The proposed method can effectively solve the occlusion problem in visual servo control.

AbstractIn recent years, the success of deep learning in natural scene image processing boosted its application in the analysis of remote sensing images. In this paper, we applied Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) on the semantic segmentation of remote sensing images. We improve the Encoder- Decoder CNN structure SegNet with index pooling and U-net to make them suitable for multi-targets semantic segmentation of remote sensing images. The results show that these two models have their own advantages and disadvantages on the segmentation of different objects. In addition, we propose an integrated algorithm that integrates these two models. Experimental results show that the presented integrated algorithm can exploite the advantages of both the models for multi-target segmentation and achieve a better segmentation compared to these two models.
