Jinwu Jiangu Capsule is a medicinal formula from the Chinese Miao nationality. Leflunomide is recommended in organizational guidelines for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). To investigate the effect of Jinwu Jiangu Capsule on PI3K/Akt/mTOR signal pathway in cells taken from RA patients New Zealand rabbits were administrated with Jinwu Jiangu Capsule suspension to prepare serum containing medicine. Lyophilized powder was prepared from this serum for cell treatment. The expression of LC3-II and PI3K, AKT, mTOR were detected by IF and western blot. Moreover, the levels of Atg1, Atg5, Atg14 were detected by RT-qPCR. The results showed that the expression of LC3-II was increased, and fluorescence spot of LC3-II was obvious in high-dose of Jinwu Jiangu Capsule group. Jinwu Jiangu Capsule decreased the level of PI3k, Akt, and mTOR protein, and increased the levels of Atg1, Atg5 and Atg14. Specially, the high-dose of Jinwu Jiangu Capsule had the most obvious inhibitory and up-regulation effects. However, there was no significant difference in the expression of Akt, mTOR and Atg1 in the medium-dose of Jinwu Jiangu Capsule group compared with the leflunomide group. In conclusion, Jinwu Jiangu Capsule regulates autophagy by inhibiting the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway in RA.

Abstract The Asian citrus psyllid, Diaphorina citri Kuwayama, is the most serious pest of citrus because it is a vector for the highly destructive citrus greening disease (huanglongbing, HLB). Currently, insecticide applications are being used widely to control psyllid populations, thereby suppressing the spread of HLB. In the present study, topical application bioassays were performed to detect the joint actions of beta-cyfluthrin and thiamethoxam or tolfenpyrad against D. citri adults in the laboratory. In 2019, a field plot experiment was conducted to evaluate the control efficacies of beta-cyfluthrin+thiamethoxam 22% capsule suspension and beta-cyfluthrin+tolfenpyrad 30% microemulsion against D. citri using foliar sprays. For the former, a 9:13 mass ratio had the highest synergistic effect, with a cotoxicity coefficient of 188.64. For the latter, a 5:25 mass ratio had the highest synergistic effect, with a cotoxicity coefficient of 153.94. A one-time foliar spray of the former at 30–40 mg/kg or of the latter at 40–60 mg/kg effectively controlled D. citri, with control efficacies varying from 80.1 to 99.4% or 80.4 to 100.0%, during the 3–30 d after treatment, respectively. Moreover, field observations indicated that these foliar sprays at the tested rates had no negative effects on citrus trees. Thus, foliar sprays of beta-cyfluthrin+thiamethoxam or beta-cyfluthrin+tolfenpyrad under the given conditions may control D. citri.

Drug nanocrystals offer an attractive approach for improving the solubility and dissolution rate of poorly soluble drugs which accounts for nearly 40 % newly discovered drug molecules. Both methods for manufacturing drug nanocrystals have high industrial acceptability for being simple and easy to scale which is evident from the number of approved products available in the market. Ability to modify multiple aspects of dosage form like bioavailability, release pattern and dosage form requirement along with flexibility in choosing final dosage form starting from the tablet, capsule, suspension to parenteral one, have made nanocrystal technology one of the very promising and adaptable technology for dosage form design.

Field studies were conducted from 2005 through 2007 to determine the response of three rice cultivars (‘Cocodrie’, ‘Wells’, and ‘Lemont’) to three application timings and two formulations of pendimethalin in a stale seedbed rice production system. Pendimethalin formulated as an emulsifiable concentrate and capsule suspension was applied to rice 0, 3, and 7 d after planting. No visual injury was detected for any cultivar. Seedling density, days to 50% heading, and rice yield were not affected by pendimethalin formulation or application timing. The practice of planting cultivars with excellent seedling vigor into nondisturbed soils with greater available moisture could provide an opportunity to use pendimethalin as a preemergence herbicide for rice production.
