In this article, a highly reliable radio frequency (RF) wake-up receiver (WuRx) is presented for electronic toll collection (ETC) applications. An intelligent digital controller (IDC) is proposed as the final stage for improving WuRx reliability and replacing complex analog blocks. With IDC, high reliability and accuracy are achieved by sensing and ensuring the successive, configurable number of wake-up signal cycles before enabling power-hungry RF transceiver. The IDC and range communication (RC) oscillator current consumption is reduced by a presented self-hibernation technique during the non-wake-up period. For accommodating wake-up signal frequency variation and enhancing WuRx accuracy, a digital hysteresis is incorporated. To avoid uncertain conditions during poor and false wake-up, a watch-dog timer for IDC self-recovery is integrated. During wake-up, the digital controller consumes 34.62 nW power and draws 38.47 nA current from a 0.9 V supply. In self-hibernation mode, its current reduces to 9.7 nA. It is fully synthesizable and needs 809 gates for its implementation in a 130 nm CMOS process with a 94 × 82 µm2 area. The WuRx measured power consumption is 2.48 µW, has −46 dBm sensitivity, and a 0.484 mm² chip area.

This paper presents that the RC polyphase filer has characteristics as a complex analog Hilbert filter. Phase characteristics of the RC polyphase filter have the same as the Hilbert filter. Also its gain characteristics can be approximated as the Hilbert filter; as its order becomes higher, its gain characteristics become closer to the Hilbert filter. We have proved these for 1st to 4th RC polyphase filters, as well as in general n-th order case, and also confirmed with numerical simulations.

α-d-Gal-cyclophellitol cyclosulfamidate is a new class of neutral, conformationally-constrained competitive glycosidase inhibitor that stabilizes α-gal A and prevents its degradation both in vitro and in cellulo by mimicry of the Michaelis complex conformation.

Abstract The aim of this paper is to introduce a strategy to find a minimal set of test nodes for diagnostics of complex analog systems with single parametric faults using the support vector machine (SVM) classifier as a fault locator. The results of diagnostics of a video amplifier and a low-pass filter using tabu search along with genetic algorithms (GAs) as node selectors in conjunction with the SVM fault classifier are presented. General principles of the diagnostic procedure are first introduced, and then the proposed approach is discussed in detail. Diagnostic results confirm the usefulness of the method and its computational requirements. Conclusions on its wider applicability are provided as well.

An electron-rich PCsp2P ligand, incorporating N,N-dimethylamino groups para to the anchoring carbene donor of the ligand, was prepared and coordinated to iridium, producing the iridium carbene chloride 2. This species undergoes facile reaction with N2O to afford an iridaepoxide complex, 3, in which an oxygen atom has been transferred to the Ir=C bond. The rate of this reaction is significantly faster than that observed for the less electron rich, unsubstituted ligand. However, further reaction of 3 involving cleavage of one of the ligand C–C bonds was observed, producing the bis-phosphine chorido complex 4. This process was accelerated by the presence of H2. Heating 4 under H2 resulted in hydrogenolysis of the ortho-metalated phosphine ligand to give a hydrido complex (5) and decarbonylation of the acyl phosphine ligand to give, finally, Vaska’s complex analog 6. All compounds were fully characterized, and the sequence represents the dismantling of the PCsp2P ligand framework.
