This work discusses the possible functions of disconnected excerpts in essays of the Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (ENEM) [National High School Exam]. To ground our reflections, we resume the concepts of genre (BAKHTIN, 2006, 2011), genre format subversion (MARCUSCHI, 2008), and incoherence (KOCH; TRAVAGLIA, 2008). In the analysis, we compare the effects that the use of disconnected excerpts caused in three ENEM essays to the effects in two other genres, a petition and a blog post. We raise three possible functions for the insertion of these excerpts: that this may be an argumentative strategy; that the author reacts to the probable readers’ attention loss; and that the author tests the dialogical character of the essay. We conclude that the use of these excerpts in ENEM does not necessarily make texts incoherent, but the condition of textual production demands a greater stability of the genre’s format.

The literary projects of the novelists Erico Verissimo and Artur Carlos Maurício Pestana dos Santos, known as Pepetela, affiliate themselves with the tradition of social intervention literature, in the same manner as it was configured in the 20th century, as they comprise an ethical project faithful to their world views and their social and human commitments, which isintensified by the aesthetic project that accompanies it. In this sense, there are ideological and aesthetic affinities between the two novelists with the confluence, on the ideological plane, of the humanist ideology and the social and human commitment that both present in their literary projects, and on the aesthetic plane, of the similarity between the narrative structures of their founding novels (the trilogy O tempo e o vento, by Erico Verissimo, and Yaka and Lueji, by Pepetela), due to the fact that the two writers use common themes and narrative strategies, such as the family saga, metafiction, counterpoint narrative technique and polyphony. Thus, we believe that the ideological affinity between Pepetela and Erico Verissimo led the Angolan writer to incorporate into his literary project some thematic and formal elements used by the Brazilian, according to the concept of intertextuality by Julia Kristeva (1974), who conceives the writing of a literary text as a reading of the preceding corpus. However, the relationship between them is based not only on the similarity in their common traits, but also on the differences that exist between their works and between their literary projects.

The relations between Psychology and literature have been discussed in academic circles, above all from an interest in problematizing how human can be described and understood not as if it were an exclusive object of a given field, but as an element capable of producing reflectionsthat cross areas, which should promote the effect of bringing them together and not moving away, as we observed in contemporary science and in health training itself. From this gap, the objective of this theoretical study is to reflect on the possible approximations between Psychology and literature, having mental health as its field of application. The framework adopted for this reflection is that of Psychoanalysis, mainly based on the contributions of the English psychoanalyst D. W. Winnicott. From triggering concepts such as identification, transitional object and playing, we problematize how reading, writing and contact with literature can be powerful therapeutic tools for emotional maturation. In the field of health education, despite the distance from professionals in areas such as literature, we recommend that the resumption of this contact may be important in the sense of promoting more humanized care

This work analyzes the phonetic-phonological phenomenon named metathesis in the variety spoken in the inland of São Paulo, more precisely in the Northwest of the state. Through this phenomenon, ancient in Portuguese, there is an inversion in the linear order of sounds such as sa.tis.fa.ção ~ sas.ti.fa.ção (‘satisfaction’). Based on the assumptions of the Linguistic Variation and Change Theory (LABOV, 2008), 48 interviews from the IBORUNA database (Projeto Amostra Linguística do Interior Paulista – ALIP – [Linguistic Sample from Inland of São Paulo] GONÇALVES, 2021 [2007]), were investigated in order to verify possible linguistic and extralinguistic conditioners that motivate the phenomenon. As a result, 18 metathesis occurrences were found. Of these cases, 11 were progressive metathesis, six regressive and one reciprocal. It was also observed that most of the occurrences involve /r/ and are classified as perceptual metathesis. In respect of extralinguistic variables, the phenomenon is more frequent in the speech of masculine sex/gender (72% of the cases); in the age group older than 55 years old; and level of education of the second cycle of Elementary Education, which seems to provide evidence of social stigma.
