Abstract : The Utilization Program of zakat, infak, and alms LAZISNU Banyumas there are four namely: Nu-Preneur, Nu-Smart, Nu-Skill, and Nu-Care. However, by 2017 following LAZISNU provisions, the Center will be replaced with education programs, economic programs, health programs and disaster programs. In maximizing the four programs, especially the Nu-Preneur (economic) program management strategy is using network approach, mustahik character, and business condition mustahik. The utilization of productive zakat in order to empower the mustahik welfare is valued effective. The effective use of zakat is considered effective in empowering the mustahik welfare and it can be measured from several elements, namely: The accuracy of program targets, program socialization, program objectives and program monitoring. Special services provided by schools to students are generally the same, but different on the process of the management and utilization. Some form of special services in school is the service: councelling, libraries, laboratories, extracurricular, infirmary, cafeteria, cooperatives, OSIS, transport, boarding, acceleration, class inclusion, and apprentice. As a special service management functions include: (1) planning, such as needs analysis and programming of special services; (2) the organization, such as the division of tasks to carry out special service program; (3) in motion, in the form of the settings in the implementation of special services, and (4) control, in the form of program monitoring and performance assessment special services program in school. So that special services should be managed with effective management processes in order to strengthen the management process of education, particularly at the school level.

This case explores two common challenges facing organizations around the world: how to collect the right amount of data, and how to credibly use outcome data collected during program monitoring. Health promoters at Un Kilo de Ayuda (UKA) in Mexico use regularly collected health data on more than 50,000 children to structure their work, track their progress, and identify at-risk children in time to treat health problems. In this case, readers will assess the tradeoffs between actionability and responsibility that UKA faces in determining how much data to collect. They will also examine the challenges of monitoring data on a program’s outcomes instead of outputs, particularly when it comes to asserting a program’s impact on those outcomes. Finally, readers will propose ways to generate credible data on one of the organization’s programs when plans for an impact evaluation fall through.

The aim of the study was to verify the association of clinical relapses and brain activity with disability progression in relapsing/remitting multiple sclerosis patients receiving disease-modifying treatments in Poland. Disability progression was defined as relapse-associated worsening (RAW), progression independent of relapse activity (PIRA), and progression independent of relapses and brain MRI Activity (PIRMA). Data from the Therapeutic Program Monitoring System were analyzed. Three panels of patients were identified: R0, no relapse during treatment, and R1 and R2 with the occurrence of relapse during the first and the second year of treatment, respectively. In the R0 panel, we detected 4.6% PIRA patients at 24 months (p < 0.001, 5.0% at 36 months, 5.6% at 48 months, 6.1% at 60 months). When restricting this panel to patients without brain MRI activity, we detected 3.0% PIRMA patients at 12 months, 4.5% at 24 months, and varying from 5.3% to 6.2% between 36 and 60 months of treatment, respectively. In the R1 panel, RAW was detected in 15.6% patients at 12 months and, in the absence of further relapses, 9.7% at 24 months and 6.8% at 36 months of treatment. The R2 group was associated with RAW significantly more frequently at 24 months compared to the R1 at 12 months (20.7%; p < 0.05), but without a statistical difference later on. In our work, we confirmed that disability progression was independent of relapses and brain MRI activity.

There is a growing recognition that programs that seek to change people’s lives are intervening in complex systems, which puts a particular set of requirements on program monitoring and evaluation. Developing complexity-aware program monitoring and evaluation systems within existing organizations is difficult because they challenge traditional orthodoxy. Little has been written about the practical experience of doing so. This article describes the development of a complexity-aware evaluation approach in the CGIAR Research Program on Aquatic Agricultural Systems. We outline the design and methods used including trend lines, panel data, after action reviews, building and testing theories of change, outcome evidencing and realist synthesis. We identify and describe a set of design principles for developing complexity-aware program monitoring and evaluation. Finally, we discuss important lessons and recommendations for other programs facing similar challenges. These include developing evaluation designs that meet both learning and accountability requirements; making evaluation a part of a program’s overall approach to achieving impact; and, ensuring evaluation cumulatively builds useful theory as to how different types of program trigger change in different contexts.
