This study including prepared new colored esters containing heterocyclic with high molecular weights. In the first part of work we synthesized azo dyes [1,2] from the reaction p-toluidine with β-naphthol and o-nitro phenol, thin we synthesized Schiff bases [3,4] by the reaction anthranilic acid with benzaldehyde and dimethyl benzaldehyde. The reaction azo dyes (contain OH group) with Schiff base (contain COOH group) these led to produce the new colored esters [A1-A4]. The second part of work was modification the (C=N-) group in esters to heterocyclic compounds by reacting with phenyl iso cyanide to produce new β-lactam [B1-B4] and with anthranilic acid to get new hydroquinazoline [C1-C4]. All these compounds were characterized by physical properties and spectral methods FTIR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR.

The hitherto known polyamidoamines (PAAs) are not suitable as structural materials because they are usually water-soluble or swellable in water. This paper deals with the synthesis and characterization of semi-crystalline hydrophobic PAAs (H-PAAs) by combining different bis-sec-amines with bis-acrylamides obtained from C6–C12 bis-prim-amines. H-PAAs were initially obtained in a solution of benzyl alcohol, a solvent suitable for both monomers and polymers. Their number average molecular weights, M¯n, which were determined with 1H-NMR by evaluating the percentage of their terminal units, varied from 6000 to >10,000. The solubility, thermal properties, ignitability and water resistance of H-PAAs were determined. They were soluble in organic solvents, semi-crystalline and thermally stable. The most promising ones were also prepared using a bulk process, which has never been previously reported for PAA synthesis. In the form of films, these H-PAAs were apparently unaffected by water. The films underwent tensile and wettability tests. They showed similar Young moduli (260–263 MPa), whereas the maximum stress and the stress at break depended on the number of methylene groups of the starting bis-acrylamides. Their wettability was somewhat higher than that of common Nylons. Interestingly, none of the H-PAAs considered, either as films or powders, ignited after prolonged exposure to a methane flame.

A new series of oxovanadium(IV) chelates containing bi-and tridentate pyrazol-5-one azo derivatives ligands of the type (I) [VO(L)2] and (2) [VO(L)(H2O)] have been prepared and characterized by elementary analysis, IR, electronic spectra, conductance measurements, and molecular weights. The ligands coordinate through (O-N) donor system as monobasic and bidentate (HL) for the first type and through (0-N-O) donor system as dibasic and tridentate (H2L) for the second type of complexes. The molecular weights, the presence of the (V=O) stretching band around 950 cm -1, and the visible spectra suggest a monomeric penta-coordinated structure for these complexes.

Cobalt II ions ligated byfac-κ3-β-triketimine ligands form bromide-bridged square-based pyramidal dimers which upon activation with MAO and fed with a constant supply of butadiene produce high-cis-1,4-polybutadiene with activities and molecular weights surpassing all previously seen for this metal.

Abstract The results of this study are the first to show that high-1,4 linear α,ω-dihydroxypolydienes can be synthesized with (a) predictable molecular weights, (b) narrow molecular weight distributions, and (c) high functionalities. Using the functionalized polyisoprenes prepared in this work, a series of networks was prepared with a purified triisocyanate as the chain linking agent. The soluble fraction in these networks ranged from 4.6 to 1.6 per cent. The characteristics and physical properties of these networks will be the subject of a forthcoming publication.

AbstractA series of novel aromatic copolyimides was synthesized from pyromellitic dianhydride with the commercial diamine 4,4’-methylenebisaniline (MBA) and the diamine 4,4’-methylenebis(2-tert-butylaniline) (MBTBA) specially designed by ourselves. The solubility of the copolyimides in conventional solvents decreased with the mole ratio of MBTBA to MBA. When MBTBA/MBA was larger than 8/2, the copolyimides are soluble in low boiling point solvents (such as chloroform and tetrahydrofuran) and can form a transparent, flexible, tough film by solution casting. When MBTBA/MBA was between 7/3 and 5/5, the copolyimides are only soluble in dipolar aprotic solvents (such as dimethylformamide and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone) and form films, too. The copolyimide was precipitated in m-cresol in the polymerization process when MBTBA/MBA was lower than 5/5. The number-average molecular weights of the soluble copolyimides measured by gel permeation chromatography were larger than 5.0·104 and the polydispersity index was higher than 1.5. Only one glass transition of these copolyimides was detected at around 350°C. The copolyimides did not show appreciable decomposition up to 400°C under air and 550°C under nitrogen, and their thermal stability increased a little with the introduction of MBA into the polymer chains.

Di-methacrylated PLA-PEG-PLA triblock copolymers of polylactide and polyethylene glycol were synthesized in one-step process by bulk cationic polymerization of lactide in the presence of PEG with different average molecular weights, using Maghnite-H+, an acidic montmorillonite clay, as a solid non-toxic catalyst. The obtained di-methacrylated copolymer was analyzed by 1H NMR and DSC. The effect of Maghnite-H+ proportions and PEG average molecular weight on the copolymerization and methacrylation yields and on average molecular weight of the resulting copolymers was studied.

Polyurethanes (PUs) are synthesized by the reaction of diisocyanates and diols and are widely used in furniture foams, thermal insulation, coatings, and adhesives. In this work, a 1,2,3-triazole-bridged dioxime (compound 6) as a diol source was synthesized from isomannide via tosylation, azidation, and cyclization-addition and used in the syntheses of new PUs. A new carbohydrate-based linear P-1 was synthesized by the reaction of 6 and 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanate (1,6-HMDI). Besides, three new linear PUs (P-2, P-3, and P-4) were synthesized by the reaction of 6, isomannide compound (used in different molar ratios), and 1,6-HMDI. The thermal properties of the new PUs were determined by thermogravimetry (TG), their molecular structures were characterized by FTIR, 1H- and 13C-NMR, and the molecular weights of some polymers were determined by GPC/SEC. Additionally, the surface characteristics of the synthesized PUs were examined via scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
