This study designed, simulated and evaluated the performance of a conceptual framework for ambient ad hoc home network. This was with a view to detecting malicious nodes and securing the home devices against attacks. The proposed framework, called mobile ambient social trust consists of mobile devices and mobile ad hoc network as communication channel. The trust model for the device attacks is Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy (ANF) that considered global reputation of the direct and indirect communication of home devices and remote devices. The model was simulated using Matlab 7.0. In the simulation, NSL-KDD dataset was used as input packets, the artificial neural network for packet classification and ANF system for the global trust computation. The proposed model was benchmarked with an existing Eigen Trust (ET) model using detection accuracy and convergence time as performance metrics. The simulation results using the above parameters revealed a better performance of the ANF over ET model. The framework will secure the home network against unforeseen network disruption and node misbehavior.

Today’s administrative and business environment calls for information sharing on an unprecedented scale, from government to business to citizen. Sharing and interoperating among agencies, businesses, and governments around the world create opportunities to simplify processes and unify work, as well as improve the overall performance of government. Secure interoperability, based on identity management solutions, enables substantial cost savings, streamlined processes and faster communication of vital information to the benefit of governments and citizens of all nations. At the core of this revolution is the concept of federated identity management and the need for standards that are open, interoperable and decentralized. In addition, such standards must allow for privacy safeguard across all sectors. The Liberty Alliance Project (Liberty Alliance, n.d.) was established to address this need and tackle the twin issues of standards and trust.

This study identified factors that contribute to adolescents' online trust. Two hypotheses are stated: (1) there is a significant influence of social loneliness and self-esteem toward self-disclosure; and (2) social support has a significant influence toward online trust, with self-disclosure as a mediator. 205 high school students completed a survey covering four self-rated scales: online trust, self-disclosure, social support, and loneliness. Each scale met the psychometric standards of validity and reliability. Data was analyzed using structural equation modelling (SEM). The findings confirmed both hypotheses. The Goodness of Fit as indicated by a chi-square coefficient of 345.06 (p = .00); RMSEA: .04; CFI: .98; and TLI: .98, exceeded the set criteria. The main determinant of the direct effect of social trust and online trust model (β = .35**) was self-disclosure, a mediator on the effect of social support toward online trust (β = .05). The variables which directly influenced self-disclosure were loneliness (β = -.31**), self-esteem (β = .14), and social support (β = .24**).

Abstract Background Health systems are moving towards a personalisation of care. Personalised care relies on data-intensive research, which depends on active participation by citizens in data generation and information sharing. Collecting and sharing one's data for research can deliver several benefits. However, it also comes at a cost in time and effort that may burden different population subsets to varying degrees. This study aimed to assess patients' and carers' willingness to generate and share health data, and its associated factors, to inform the design of inclusive engagement strategies. Methods A cross-sectional study was performed with 157 patients and 487 carers (participation rate=89.3%) followed at 2 rare diseases reference centres in Portugal (06/2019-01/2020). Participants were asked about willingness to collect their health data. Those who responded yes/maybe also reported, from 0 (not willing) to 4 (always willing), on willingness to share it for the following purposes: diagnosis/treatment, non-profit research and for-profit research related to their disease and to other diseases. Data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results From 567 respondents, 42.7% are willing to collect their health data, 34.7% are unsure and 22.6% do not want to participate in data generation. More educated participants, with white-collar occupations, satisfied/very satisfied with their health and those with higher social trust levels are significantly more willing to engage in data collection (p < 0.05). Participants are less prone to share information for for-profit research on their disease (Median[P25-P75]: 3.0[2.0-4.0]) or others (Median[P25-P75]: 2.0[1.0-3.0]), in particular carers (p < 0.05). Conclusions Participants are more willing to share information for diagnosis/treatment and non-profit research. Efforts to engage people in data generation and sharing should be directed towards disadvantaged groups to reduce biases related to skewed populations. Key messages Willingness to participate in data generation and sharing is influenced by social indicators. Engagement by less advantaged groups should be promoted to avoid biases related to skewed populations.

This paper which starts from the characteristics of human social trust relationship, researches the trust in cloud computing environment. At present, the commercial cloud environment exist two main safe problems: one is the cloud platform trust security problems in their own special environment, the second is the security issues on the network of cheating, false, malicious ads and spam trust security . Aiming at solving this problem, on the basis of the existing trust models, this paper studies the cloud environment trust models according to the characteristics of the cloud environment, constructs a model of trust in the cloud environmentReputation and Risk Evaluation-Trust Model (RRE-Trust), and improves the trust evaluation algorithm. Finally, the experiment results show that, compared with the existing trust models, the proposed evaluate method of this model is closer to the real service behavior of service providers, resist effectively all kinds of malicious behaviors, shows a good robustness and ability in recognize.
