This chapter provides an overview of the healthcare delivery system. A figure illustrates how six different parts of the system relate to each other. The primary care level plays a key role in many countries by representing the gate, in which referrals to secondary care are being made. Tertiary care is principally of two types depending on patients’ prognosis: chronic care or rehabilitation. In addition to the three care levels, there are two parts with quite different roles: pharmacies provide pharmaceuticals, and sickness benefit schemes compensate the sick for their income losses. A recurrent policy challenge is to make each provider level take into account the resource implications of their isolated decisions outside of their own budgets. A brief discussion is included on the scope for ‘internal markets’.

Innovation is a critical to the success of large, diversified Indian business groups and this chapter explores the specific organizational mechanisms they have adopted to enable and foster innovation in their organizations. First, these groups provide internal markets for much needed capital and talent necessary for innovation to make up for sufficient lack of these institutions externally. In addition, they have pursued the following actions: (a) significantly upped their investments in R&D and innovation, (b) created internal leadership councils to oversee and promote innovation, (c) created an innovation culture that encourages and celebrates entrepreneurship, risk-taking, and tolerance for failure, (d) undertaken formal learning interventions to build the innovation capabilities of their managers, and (e) set-up formal units to in-source innovation from external sources. Indian companies are yet in the early stages of this journey and will have to sustain these practices to demonstrate durable success with innovation.

The competitive market is eroding. To an increasing degree, transactions are occurring in internal markets within the framework of long-term relationships. The emerging domesticated markets call for more attention to the management of interorganizational systems and to the political aspects of economic decision making.

The article develops a systematic approach to the management of mining, using, export and import non-metallic minerals for construction considering the economic parameters of the development of the world market situation and the domestic market. The analysis showed that the classification of minerals used by the Public Service Geology and Mineral Resources of Ukraine, the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine and Statistics of foreign economic activity - codes UKTZED - do not coincide that complicates the study process using these official sources. According to the results of the conducted researches, the indicators of the dynamics of minerals production in their natural and costly dimensions have been found to be inadequate. An analysis of dynamics and geographic structure of export-import operations was also conducted with natural sand, pebbles, gravel and breakstone. The obtained results allowed us to conclude that the approach to formation of export minerals' flows is not rational, because it poses a threat to the financial state of the mining industry and the country. An analysis of the geographical structure of the export and import of natural sand, pebbles, gravel and breakstone allowed proposing the use of a systematic approach to rational extraction, the use of the country's mineral resources base, while taking into account export-import flows and the price conditions of the external and internal markets and taking into account the resource component of state security.


The most important results of the scientific studies, carried out by the Institutes of the National Academy of sciences of Ukraine in the frames of the program for scientific research of the NAS of Ukraine "New Functional Substances and Materials for Chemical Engineering" in 2017-2021, are summarized. In the result of fulfillment of the projects of the Program a number of principally new organic, inorganic, polymeric substances and materials as well as composited based thereon of various functional destination were created, new energy-, resource-saving and ecologically-friendly ways for low-tonnage obtaining of substances and materials of chemical engineering were developed. Use of the obtained materials and methods of chemical substances obtaining in different fields of the national industry will improve the competitive capacity of the national products on the external and internal markets, will favor to significant reduction of the dependency of the country on import of deep technology chemical products, setting up of production of a wide range of chemical products, reagents and preparations in Ukraine.
