Introduction: Spinal Anaesthesia (SA) is a form of regional anaesthesia involving injection of a local anaesthetic into the subarachnoid space. SA is directly related to nervous system, so its mismanagement may cause various complications hence, prevention and management of complication is a vital and complex aspect of critical nursing care. Therefore, the objective of this study was to assess the nurse’s knowledge on the management of patient receiving spinal anaesthesia. Methodology: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted among nurses of Koshi Zonal Hospital of Province no. 1, Biratnagar, Nepal from May to June 2017. Non-probability purposive sampling method was used where self-administered questionnaire was administered among 67 working nurses in the hospital. Results: The majority of the respondents (77.6%) belonged to 20-30 years of age group, nearly half (44.8%) of the respondents had completed PCL nursing. Only 67.2% explained the meaning of anaesthesia, and 58.2% had knowledge on physiological changes after SA. Regarding ambulation and cause of backache, 29.9% had knowledge whereas only 20.9% had knowledge about management of post spinal backache. Respondents facing problem to manage the complication after SA was 13.4%. This study also found that the overall knowledge regarding SA was adequate among 80.6% respondents. Conclusion: Nurses as the key personnel in management and prevention of complication, the obtained result was below the desired competence level among working nurses as it is the vital aspect of critical nursing care.

The subject of research in the article is the process of intelligent computer training in engineering skills. The aim is to model the process of teaching engineering skills in intelligent computer training programs through dynamic Bayesian networks. Objectives: To propose an approach to modeling the process of teaching engineering skills. To assess the student competence level by considering the algorithms development skills in engineering tasks and the algorithms implementation ability. To create a dynamic Bayesian network structure for the learning process. To select values for conditional probability tables. To solve the problems of filtering, forecasting, and retrospective analysis. To simulate the developed dynamic Bayesian network using a special Genie 2.0-environment. The methods used are probability theory and inference methods in Bayesian networks. The following results are obtained: the development of a dynamic Bayesian network for the educational process based on the solution of engineering problems is presented. Mathematical calculations for probabilistic inference problems such as filtering, forecasting, and smoothing are considered. The solution of the filtering problem makes it possible to assess the current level of the student's competence after obtaining the latest probabilities of the development of the algorithm and its numerical calculations of the task. The probability distribution of the learning process model is predicted. The number of additional iterations required to achieve the required competence level was estimated. The retrospective analysis allows getting a smoothed assessment of the competence level, which was obtained after the task's previous instance completion and after the computation of new additional probabilities characterizing the two checkpoints implementation. The solution of the described probabilistic inference problems makes it possible to provide correct information about the learning process for intelligent computer training systems. It helps to get proper feedback and to track the student's competence level. The developed technique of the kernel of probabilistic inference can be used as the decision-making model basis for an automated training process. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that dynamic Bayesian networks are applied to a new class of problems related to the simulation of engineering skills training in the process of performing algorithmic tasks.

World requires people with knowledge, skills and attitudes that allow a full development of citizenship in a digital ecosystem. An educational response to this social demand is digital competence. Thus, this purpose requires optimal levels of Digital Teaching Competence (DTC), especially in the Vocational Education Training (VET) sector. With the aim of attending to this educational context, this work proposes a understanding framework that integrates the vision of pedagogy, resources and evaluation to understand, evaluate and propose improvements in the digital competence of VET teachers. Using a qualitative approach, eleven in-depth interviews were conducted on the DTC of VET teachers in the province of Valencia (Spain). These data were analysed from the categorization of 4 educational scenarios with technology (individual learning, teaching with ICT, collaborative learning and student self-learning). The main conclusion detected is that interviewed teachers have knowledge of some technological resources and applications, attitude and ability to incorporate them into their teaching practice. However, they do not integrate technology in the learning assessment at the same competence level as in the other dimensions.

Objective:The aim of the present study was to evaluate competence development in palliative treatment, nursing and care in students (n= 25) undergoing a two-year postgraduate education program in palliation at a university college in Norway. Methods:A questionnaire was handed out on five occasions during the education period. Results:Results showed that the students rated their competence level as between some competence and good competence before entering the course. However, the competence level rose throughout the course period, and at the end of their education most of the students perceived themselves at a very good or extremely good competence level.Significance of results:Statistically significant differences in all questions measuring competence in palliation were found on all occasions. Further studies are needed to confirm the effect of education on students' perceived competence development and whether it has a positive impact on clinical practice.

The research study aimed to determine the teacher competence level and investigate the relationship between teacher gender, age, qualification, experience, position level, publication, Institute type and teacher competence of management teachers at management institutes in the National Capital Region (NCR) of India. The method of survey research was through questionnaire. The unit of analysis was management teachers, 320 were selected by simple random sampling methods from NCR region of India. The instrument used for collecting data was 5–item rating scale questionnaire pertaining to teacher competencies. The Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient for the reliability was 0.85. The statistical devices used in analyzing data were descriptive statistics; percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation to determine the teacher competence level and employed the "t" test, Anova and Correlations coefficient to investigate the relationship between teacher gender, age, qualification, experience, position level, publication, Institute type and teacher competence.
