The problem of national economic security, which includes guaranteed food provision in the regions, occupies one of the pivotal places in the politics of economically developed countries of the world. Issues of food security and agricultural development should be a priority; without them, all conversations about national security are meaningless. Over the past 20 years, a lot of funds and efforts have been invested in the development of agriculture in Russia, the results of these efforts say it all. Russia has become the largest exporter of food raw, completely covers the needs of the population in chicken eggs, poultry, and pork. Despite significant advances in food security, many problems need to be solved immediately. The problem of food security provision at the federal and regional levels should be approached comprehensively. First of all, it is necessary to comprehend and realize that economic life develops according to its very specific laws, the complex interaction of which, ultimately, determines the state of the economy. The current situation with the position of food security can be assessed as not quite satisfactory. The article outlines the problems of food security in the Chelyabinsk region and the relationship of its tasks, the growth of life expectancy, and the working capacity of the population. Four stages of their duration and features of tasks at each stage are substantiated. The term for the full achievement of food security is designed for 12 years, improving the nutritional structure and increasing its usefulness will increase life expectancy by 8-12 years, which is consistent with state policy in the economic and social spheres.

South Kalimantan is a largest rice producer in Kalimantan island. More than five years its rice met by their own production, moreover it has supplied to other area such as Kalimantan Tengah, Kalimantan Timur and Kalimantan Utara. In many studies, rice stocks play a critical role in determining the regional’s food security. In recent issues, rice stocks has a wide impact on an array of economic, political, societal stabilities. Unfortunately, most of the land in Kalimantan Selatan is classified as wetlands, where the land productivity is low. Therefore, this study analyzes rice supply patterns in Kalimantan Selatan in order to provide policies development toward rice self-sufficiency. This research is using system dynamics approach to explore the system which then develop any alternatives of rice policies. Eventually, this study provides evidences for the need to consider rice supply system in the regional’s food security policies.

Eradicating world hunger—the aim of Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG2)—requires a social–ecological approach to agrifood systems. However, previous work has mostly focused on one or the other. Here, we apply such a holistic approach to depicting the global food panorama through a quantitative multivariate assessment of 43 indicators of food sovereignty and 28 indicators of sociodemographics, social being, and environmental sustainability in 150 countries. The results identify 5 world regions and indicate the existence of an agrifood debt (i.e., disequilibria between regions in the natural resources consumed, the environmental impacts produced, and the social wellbeing attained by populations that play different roles within the globalized agrifood system). Three spotlights underpin this debt: 1) a severe contrast in diets and food security between regions, 2) a concern about the role that international agrifood trade is playing in regional food security, and 3) a mismatch between regional biocapacity and food security. Our results contribute to broadening the debate beyond food security from a social–ecological perspective, incorporating environmental and social dimensions.

The aim of the study was to identify the key directions of state influence which guarantee food security of the country and its regions, i.e. ensure physical availability of food, physical and economic access to food, its security and stability of the food system. The empirical study was based on the results of the workshops, which were organized in 2017 in the Rzeszów subregion, and whose participants were broadly understood stakeholders of the regional food system. The research results indicate that food security is a multidimensional concept referring to economic, political, demographic, social, cultural and technical issues. It requires to take various types of actions at the same time, carried out at various levels of state authorities, implemented in different areas.

The aim is to consider the current problems of ensuring food security, including the selfsufficiency of the region with food products with the effective functioning of the regional food market on the example of the Aktobe region. Methods - statistical and economic, comparative analysis, monographic, computational-constructive, abstract-logical. Results - the factors influencing on the formation of the level of food supply in the region and allowing the most reliable display of the structure of the diet of food products of the main population groups are systematized. The parameters that can be used to reflect the effectiveness of the action of specific types of food markets (meat, milk, bread, sugar, etc.) and effectiveness of government programs are highlighted. The features of the agro-industrial complex of the Aktobe region and the issues of ensuring its food security are determined. The effectiveness of agricultural policy measures to solve the problem of economic security of the region by regulating prices on market of consumer products has been proved. The results of the study of the main indicators characterizing the degree of socio-economic development of the region are presented. The analysis of the rate of expansion of food products market is presented. Conclusions - the authors focus on the need to develop measures aimed at achieving an optimal level of food self-sufficiency in the region, taking into account the factors that determine the development of food market and the food industry. The influence of digital and the latest communication technologies on increasing the information security of the subjects of the food market is justified, taking into account the level of consumer prices and effective demand of the population. Practical recommendations to improve food security and develop food market in the Aktobe region have been developed.
