The problem of national economic security, which includes guaranteed food provision in the regions, occupies one of the pivotal places in the politics of economically developed countries of the world. Issues of food security and agricultural development should be a priority; without them, all conversations about national security are meaningless. Over the past 20 years, a lot of funds and efforts have been invested in the development of agriculture in Russia, the results of these efforts say it all. Russia has become the largest exporter of food raw, completely covers the needs of the population in chicken eggs, poultry, and pork. Despite significant advances in food security, many problems need to be solved immediately. The problem of food security provision at the federal and regional levels should be approached comprehensively. First of all, it is necessary to comprehend and realize that economic life develops according to its very specific laws, the complex interaction of which, ultimately, determines the state of the economy. The current situation with the position of food security can be assessed as not quite satisfactory. The article outlines the problems of food security in the Chelyabinsk region and the relationship of its tasks, the growth of life expectancy, and the working capacity of the population. Four stages of their duration and features of tasks at each stage are substantiated. The term for the full achievement of food security is designed for 12 years, improving the nutritional structure and increasing its usefulness will increase life expectancy by 8-12 years, which is consistent with state policy in the economic and social spheres.

The purpose of the article is to develop instrumentarium for determination ofthe level of food security. In order to achieve the set goal, the authors use method ofmonitoring and economic & mathematical modeling of manufacture and consumption ofagricultural products. In the process of the research, the authors test this method by theexample of modern Russia and determine the existence of the problem of food security. Inorder to solve this problem, the authors develop recommendations for stabilization ofagricultural production, as a basis of country’s food security. The authors also conductanalysis of agricultural development of developed countries and determine primary tasks,solution of which will stipulate provision of the required level of food security. As a resultof the research, the authors come to the conclusion that the developed recommendationscan be directions of unified state approach to solving the problem of achievement of foodsecurity and formation of agrarian policy. At that, it should be noted that policy which isaimed at achievement of national-level goal cannot be formed without relevantinformational provision. Therefore, agriculture authorities must possess full, high-quality,and actualized information. Elements of state policy in the sphere of achievement of foodsecurity can stipulate achieving indicators which are determined by national doctrine andform optimal level of cooperation of national agriculture production and foreign partners.

The aim is to consider the current problems of ensuring food security, including the selfsufficiency of the region with food products with the effective functioning of the regional food market on the example of the Aktobe region. Methods - statistical and economic, comparative analysis, monographic, computational-constructive, abstract-logical. Results - the factors influencing on the formation of the level of food supply in the region and allowing the most reliable display of the structure of the diet of food products of the main population groups are systematized. The parameters that can be used to reflect the effectiveness of the action of specific types of food markets (meat, milk, bread, sugar, etc.) and effectiveness of government programs are highlighted. The features of the agro-industrial complex of the Aktobe region and the issues of ensuring its food security are determined. The effectiveness of agricultural policy measures to solve the problem of economic security of the region by regulating prices on market of consumer products has been proved. The results of the study of the main indicators characterizing the degree of socio-economic development of the region are presented. The analysis of the rate of expansion of food products market is presented. Conclusions - the authors focus on the need to develop measures aimed at achieving an optimal level of food self-sufficiency in the region, taking into account the factors that determine the development of food market and the food industry. The influence of digital and the latest communication technologies on increasing the information security of the subjects of the food market is justified, taking into account the level of consumer prices and effective demand of the population. Practical recommendations to improve food security and develop food market in the Aktobe region have been developed.

Food security in Indonesia has become a central issue in agricultural development and national development. The problem of food and food security cannot be separated from the context of rice. This is because rice is a staple food consumed by almost all Indonesians. Thus, the availability of rice is an important factor in strengthening national food security. The level of national food security, regional food security must be followed by the achievement of the level of resilience of villages, households and individuals. The role and performance of rice agribusiness institutions are important in the effort to achieve household food security for rice farmers. The objectives of this research are: 1) to analyze the food security level of farmers household; 2) to identify the determinants of food security level; 3) identifying the level of food security with the institutional performance of rice agribusiness. The results of this study indicate that the level of household food security is categorized as food resistance, the determinants of the level of food security are influenced by the number of family members and the income of rice farming. The food resistance category was followed by the institutional performance of PT. Pusri is very good, PT. Pertani is good, Bank of BRI is good, and farmer group institutions are moderate.

The food safety of the region is a fundamental foundation of the country’s economic security and one of the most important prerequisites for sustainable development. Unfortunately, the problems of ensuring food security of the regions of Ukraine are not only resolved, but also ultimately aggravated, which negatively affects the quality of life of the population and the development of human potential. An important step in solving the problem of physical and economic food availability to all population is developing a regional food safety strategy. In this regard, the purpose of the article is to develop methodological tools for modeling the region’s food security strategy taking into account the peculiarities of its development and existing production and resource potential. The authors explained the concept of “food security strategy”, “food safety potential of the region” and methods for assessing its main components. The author’s model of the food security strategy creation was developed and implemented on the example of the Ukrainian Black Sea region. This model can be used to monitor the situation with food provision, to model the impact on the state of the food supply of individual strategic decisions and to determine the causes of deviations and growth reserves in any region irrespective of its size or administrative status.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine knowledge sharing on traditional vegetables for supporting food security among farmers and other communities in Kilosa district, Tanzania. Design/methodology/approach – A case study design was employed. Semi-structured questionnaires with both open- and closed-ended questions were used to collect quantitative data in three wards of Kilosa District in Tanzania. Interviews were used to collect qualitative data from three heads of farmer groups, and direct observation was used to validate findings obtained from questionnaires. Findings – The results showed that farmers used a socialisation approach to share indigenous knowledge about traditional vegetables on production, consumption and preservation. Research limitations/implications – The study necessitates a need to conduct regular studies on sharing knowledge of traditional vegetables among different communities for supporting food security. Practical implications – The paper provides a framework for agricultural development planners on how to improve the management of indigenous knowledge on traditional vegetables with scientific knowledge in local communities for improving food security in Tanzania. Social implications – The paper has an implication for improving knowledge-sharing strategies on traditional vegetables in supporting food security in Tanzania, and other parts of Africa and developed countries. There is a need for knowledge intermediaries to develop knowledge database on production, consumption and preservation of traditional vegetable to increase the dissemination of this knowledge and, hence, improve nutrition and food security. Originality/value – The paper provides appropriate knowledge-sharing strategies which are needed to improve sharing of indigenous knowledge about traditional vegetables in Tanzania and other developed and developing countries.

The current state of the economy of Ukraine and the world has necessitated the thorough provision of food security, which should be based on the principles of stability and sufficiency. Given the significant socio-economic and political risks that Ukraine may face given the geopolitical circumstances, it is important to identify the principles of food security and its components as a priority in the implementation of public policy. The purpose of this article is to study the state regulation of food security of the population of Ukraine in the regional dimension. The main directions of food security of Ukraine are identified, which are: promoting the development of farming; promoting the export activities of agri-food enterprises; providing financial support to agri-food producers; improvement of land relations; improving food safety and quality; development of innovations in agricultural production. The directions of improvement of state regulation of food supply processes of the region's population are offered, which consist in creation of conditions for interregional cooperation, establishment of stable regional food production and sales chains, use of agro-industrial potential of the region, increase of purchasing power. , creation of regional procurement and supply cooperatives, financing the construction of irrigation facilities, increasing the level of intra-regional cooperation, coordinated activities of regional structures, cooperation with regional research institutions, rational use of land resources, rapid implementation of innovations, rural development territories, creation of a sufficient number of jobs, creation of new and modernization of existing agro industrial enterprises, improving measures for the import of agricultural raw materials and food exports, increasing the level of food import substitution.

The purpose of the study is to study and substantiate the criteria and indicators for ensuring the country's food security - one of the multifaceted problems of international and national character, affecting many social groups of the population. Food security characterizes the state of agro-industrial complex, in which, regardless of external and internal conditions, decrease in the State food reserve, the needs of residents for products are satisfied in accordance with physiological norms, in volumes sufficient for active and healthy life. The article considers FAO's methodological approaches to assessing food supply based on the availability of grain reserves and its per capita production, which are necessary for economic security at the interstate level. The problems associated with macroeconomic situation, production efficiency and the level of profitability of the population of the republic are considered. Data on development of agricultural production, income and quality of food is provided. It is shown that Kazakhstan is moving to a new stage of ensuring food security and price control by creating a national distribution network - a complex of wholesale distribution centers (WDC). A similar system operates in France, Spain and other economically developed countries. This project will be implemented in three stages until 2022, it is planned to build 24 WDC, which will act as a warehouse and manage product flows at retail outlets, distributing it among them.

The article is devoted to the theoretical and methodological aspects of the structural adjustment of the Ukrainian economy for successful integration and effective cooperation with the structures and countries of the EU in order to achieve in the period of assimilation of the level of economic and food security not lower than in developed countries. The article outlines the main problems of economic security of a state in transition with a change in the course of economic integration. The main laws and factors that need to be taken into account to determine the problems of Ukraine's economic security when changing the course of integration are analysed. The factors that determine the country's tasks of integration into the European Economic Union are determined. The basic principles of the country's successful integration into the European Economic Union are formulated. The main results of the integration of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe are analysed. The reasons for the asymmetry of partnership and the preservation of the backwardness of some EU member states are revealed. The tasks of ensuring the economic and food security of Ukraine are formulated. They must be resolved during the assimilation into the European Economic Union.

In developed countries, the issues on national agriculture functioning and food security are among the priorities. They constantly on the national level carried out flexible economic and organizational activities, that involve and protect their agricultural producers. Food and economic security of agriculture are interdependent components of agribusiness economic security of the Russian Federation, as well as the provision of quality food products to the required amount is only possible through a well-functioning mechanism of realization of production and economic relations in the agricultural production system. At the same time, the implementation of measures to ensure food security, will help to ensure the economic security of agriculture. The essence of economic security of agriculture, as a system of economic interest lies in finding mechanisms compromise between ensuring national interests, food security and risk management, which resulted in stable functioning of agriculture. At the same time, the economic security of agriculture should be considered as a functional system, that reflects the interests of participants in the relationship processes of agrarian relations, depending on the threat, the activity of which has a different focus and may lead to non-compliance threshold criteria of food security.

Being over-dependent on imports, China has been faced with the problem of food insufficiency in recent years.This paper, with the adoption of the indicators of agricultural development and relevant models, aims to explore factors affecting food security in China, in particular, technological elements. The findings demonstrate that technology plays a vital role in improving food production. It is recommended to increase the input of science and technology and improve agricultural mechanization.
