This article is devoted to research of the problem of “using blockchain technology” relevant for theory and practice for building integrated logistics systems. It is done by the authors critical analysis of the existing Russian and the world’s approach to building integrated logistics systems using progressive informatization technologies. The advantages and disadvantages of blockchain technology, as well as barriers that inhibit widespread use in practice, are noted. The algorithm (logical scheme) of this technology and its application in the development of computerization projects integrated logistics are given. The article provides examples of the use of blockchain technologies in various sectors of the economy, shows a detailed description of the information flow of a foreign trade transaction that involves a significant number of participants, and information on its implementation is concentrated in contracts and sales agreements.

The article formulates the preconditions for reasonable assessment of the levels of social rationality of a real or developed (existing, implemented, planned for implementation) integrated logistics system of the mining industry (ILSMI) and some “ideal” ILSMI with predetermined desired parameters (characteristics, requirements), as well as preconditions for comparing these evaluations in order to determine the conformity of the actual or developed ILSMI to the standard visual characteristics

The article deals with an actual problem: the use of digital economy methods in the construction of integrated logistics systems. The rationale for the need and feasibility of using digital technologies in creating integrated logistics is given. A methodological approach to the construction of integrated logistics using the digital blockchain method is proposed, the characteristic features of which in terms of the possibilities of its use are given by the authors.

In spite of logistics having grown in importance lately, which included the discussion of concepts such as integrated logistics and supply chain management in the business agenda, little has been discussed about how to measure logistics performance. This paper analyzes the perception of logistics professionals about the effectiveness of MMOG/LE (Materials Management Operating Guideline/Logistics Evaluation), which is a set of recommendations regarding logistics and materials management that was created by the automotive industry to be used by those comprising its supply chain. The respondents, who were naturally all from the automotive industry (they were suppliers of large vehicle assemblers with industrial plants located in Brazil), had been previously trained on this logistics performance evaluation tool in order to implement it in their organizations. They filled in an email survey with Likert scale questions, early in 2008. Among other findings of the research, it was noticed that the impact of the MMOG/LE recommendation is stronger with respect to activities that had not been previously addressed by quality norms and recommendations. Most respondents also considered that their organizations were already efficient in integrating their activities with their customers (car assemblers) but rarely with their suppliers, which was acknowledged to be the bottleneck of their logistics systems.

Transportation infrastructure will provide the necessary capacity for freight movements and handling. However, the increase of physical infrastructure alone is not a sufficient condition for improvement of logistics systems. A logistics information capability that facilitates seamless flow of information is important in further enhancing the efficiency of logistics activities and potentially in reducing the demand for transportation infrastructure itself. The existing logistics information practices in the Republic of Korea are reviewed. Korea’s recent efforts to build the advanced logistics management systems and integrated logistics information systems are described. The relationship between these two systems is discussed, and issues that are important to successful implementation of the systems are raised.
