The use of cargo cycles for last-mile parcel distribution requires urban micro-consolidation centers (UMC). We develop an approach to localize suitable locations for UMCs with the consideration of three criteria: demand, land use, and type of road. The analysis considers metric levels (demand), linguistic levels (land use), and cardinal levels (type of road). The land-use category is divided into commercial, residential, mixed commercial and residential, and others. The type of road category is divided into bicycle road, pedestrian zone, oneway road, and traffic-calmed road. The approach is a hybrid multi-criteria analysis combining an Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) and PROMETHEE methods. We apply the approach to the city center of Stuttgart in Germany, using real demand data provided by a large logistics service provider. We compared different scenarios weighting the criteria differently with DART software. The different weight allocation results in different numbers of required UMCs and slightly different locations. This research was able to develop, implement, and successfully apply the proposed approach. In subsequent steps, stakeholders such as logistics companies and cities should be involved at all levels of this approach to validate the selected criteria and depict the “weight” of each criterion.

This research proposed an algorithm to enhance the software requirements prioritization activity, called the multiple perspective prioritization technique. This proposed technique (algorithm) attempts to represent three perspectives: the customer, business and technical perspectives. In addition, this technique is designed for a medium to large number of requirements. The effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed multiple perspective prioritization technique were investigated empirically, in order to show whether it is worthy to be adopted in the real working environment. For this reason, a controlled experiment was conducted among 159 participants, where they were asked to prioritize 42 requirements using the three techniques: our proposed technique (multiple perspective prioritization technique), analytical hierarchical process and Wiegers’ technique. The aim of this experiment was to compare and evaluate the multiple perspective prioritization technique with two other techniques, which are among the most widely used prioritization techniques. By this comparison, we would like to show which of these techniques (multiple perspective prioritization technique, analytical hierarchical process and Wiegers) is more efficient, understandable, easy to use, more scalable and less time-consuming by the participants in practice. This will help the software industry and associated experts to improve the quality of their software products. The experiment outcome reveals in general that the multiple perspective prioritization technique is more effective, understandable, less time-consuming, more scalable and easier for prioritizing requirements than the analytical hierarchical process and Wiegers’ techniques. As a conclusion, the multiple perspective prioritization technique is worthy to be implemented in real environments. Our findings reflecting the three perspectives would provide valuable insights into the domain of prioritizing software requirements.

This paper presents multi-criteria methods for ranking project activities according to several ranking indexes. The methods are based on the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP), on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), and on the use of common ranking indexes. This paper reviews ranking indexes of project activities for project management tasks. The ranking of project activities in one project is applicable for focusing the attention of the project manager on important activities. The selection of the appropriate ranking indexes should be done in accordance with managerial purposes: 1) Paying attention to activities throughout the execution phase and in the resources allocation process, in order meet pre-determined qualities, and to deliver the project on time and within budget, i.e., to accomplish the project within the "iron triangle" 2) Setting priorities in order to share the managerial care and control among the activities. The paper proposes to use multi-criteria ranking methods in order to rank the activities in a case where several ranking indexes are selected.

The use of geotechnologies to map the levels of environmental fragility in a municipality is an important environmental planning strategy, especially when it is intended to make a conscious use of the area's natural resources through its zoning. Therefore, the objective of this research was to carry out, through the implementation of geotechnologies, a study of environmental fragility in a municipality occupied, intensively, by mining activities and agriculture. As a case study, the municipality of Paracatu - Minas Gerais was adopted. Pedological, lithological, hydrographic, hypsometric, declivity and land use and occupation aspects were raised, in addition to the drainage network, the municipal boundary and mining activity. Finally, using Fuzzy Logic with the use of weights defined by the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) method, the maps of slope, land use and cover, lithology, pedology and drainage network were used to prepare a map of environmental fragility of the municipality. It was concluded that the municipality is susceptible to negative environmental impacts, mainly in its urban network and in the area of open-pit minning, and that these can be better evaluated through the use of geotechnologies aimming at subsidizing urban planning, which is extremely important for the municipality of Paracatu - MG, which is currently undergoing changes in its master plan and intends to expand.

This study aims to determine the best type of Digital currency according to Islam. This study uses the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) method by developing several alternative digital currencies and attributes (indicators). In addition, this study also uses deductive qualitative analysis. Respondents in this study amounted to 100 people with the sampling technique Area Stratified Purposive Sampling and several selected respondents were interviewed. The results show that Gold-based Digital Money is the best type of Digital currency according to Islam. The main attribute of ownership in Gold-based Digital Money is Usury abolishment capability. Other factors are Gharar Eraducation, Maysir Eraducation, Justice / Fairness Principles, Medium of exchange, Measurement of value, Store of value and Differed payment instrument. In addition, this model can accommodate 7 criteria for the role of currency in the economy.

In 2019, the government planned to achieve sugar self-sufficiency to meet domestic sugar needs. One type of sugar that is most consumed is granulated sugar. In Indonesia, various models, prices, and sizes of sugar are marketed. Competition for producers in selling their products is getting tighter, so they need to understand the criteria that influence consumers in buying granulated sugar. Research on sugar has been conducted, but until now, research on determining the criteria for sugar products has never been conducted. Many factors are the criteria for choosing sugar to be selected by consumers. To find out what alternatives and criteria are preferred by consumers, the method of Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) is used. AHP method consists of several stages that are: hierarchy determination, evaluation of criteria and alternatives, Synthesis of priority, logical consistency, and preference value. From the results of calculations that carried out, it was found that the quality and taste were the highest criteria as a reference for choosing sugar brands.
