Using the example of a number of cultural traditions, the author considers a construction of the temple structure along a rising sun ray. There are two main types of temples built according to the rising sun ray: the temples oriented towards the sunrise by their sanctuaries, and the temples oriented towards the sunrise by the entrance portal. Examples of such a construction are given for the temples of Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Orthodox and Catholic Christianity, Hinduism and Shintoism. The first type of temple in Ancient Egypt is shown to represent the birth of the sun in its sanctuary. In Christianity, this type of temple represents a ray of the sun entering the temple from an apse window – from the God depicted there. The second type of temples in Ancient Egypt represents the revival of image of the pharaoh-god located in his sanctuary, with the rising sun ray. In the ancient tradition, this type of temple represents the meeting of the rising sun over the large pre-temple altar, along with a statue of a deity in the depths of the sanctuary. It is shown that the main cathedral of Catholic Christianity, St. Peter’s Cathedral in Rome, is oriented towards sunrise not according to Christian, but according to ancient tradition. In the Hindu Shaiva tradition, the meeting of the rising sun in front of the temple portal is associated with penetration of its ray into the sanctuary and the highlighting of the statue or the main attribute of the god. In the Shinto tradition, the ascendant is presented in a special portal. The welcoming sacrifice takes place on the pre-temple altar. In general, the paper deals with the semantic, spatial, decorative, and ritual aspects of the construction performed of both types of temples.

AbstractThis article is an analysis and a dialogue with the performance Viril by Brazilian performance artist and writer Ana Luisa Santos. Viril is part of the artist’s series of works on masculinities, on the experience of sexualities outside the framework of binarisms and heteronormativity, a system that governs the patriarchal structure. Santo’s performance has as main action the reading of a manifesto, Viril or by a Queer performance of masculinity. Through falas-falos, the artist challenges the audience, but also herself, by exposing and trying to deconstruct the violent fiction of toxic masculinity and its main attribute: virility. The relationship between the performer’s text and the image of herself is essential. It is from the sharing of an intimate autobiographical) experience, that words acquire a political dimension, with the language of performance allowing an exchange between performer and audience, as well as the establishment of interconnections. Viril’s analysis is inserted in the need to question who shapes the new subjects of feminist movements today, for which I rely on non-hegemonic feminist thinkers, as well as on decolonial thinking. Keywords: Performance; body; feminisms; decolonization; virilha-life.

The laparoscopic hysterectomy is the preferred choice in performing a hysterectomy in endometrial carcinoma. It is a great alternative to abdominal hysterectomy. The need for proper training, availability of adequate tools and infrastructure are some problems which have affected its wider reach in practice. The operating time required is more compared to abdominal hysterectomy but the merits of laparoscopic hysterectomy outweigh these problems. This technique has shown promising results due to a reduction in postoperative complications, hospital stay and a quick return to normalcy. This article described the technique of performing laparoscopic hysterectomy which the surgeon has introduced and has been practicing for the last few years. It is known as Goel’s technique after the name of the surgeon who had first described and successfully executed. This technique encompasses 10 operative steps which are fixed in a way to carry out laparoscopic hysterectomy in safe manner. It emphasizes the identification of anatomical structure before cutting down. The main attribute of this technique is that this procedure operates without the use of vaginal manipulators or Myoma screws which carries the risk of spreading malignancy in the systemic circulation. This technique has highlighted the safety factor during the operation. The technique is easy to understand for surgeons and has been well received in the patients.

To support the manual contact tracing methods of Covid-19, countries and big companies like Apple and Google are busy developing several contact tracing applications. The purpose of digital contact tracing apps is to accelerate existing traditional face to face interview method which can control the pandemic effectively and rapidly. A major concern is whether consumers will be willing to download, install, and use the contact tracing applications because of the debate it created about its main attribute like security, privacy concern, system framework, data processing, location measurement. In this paper we discuss the contact tracing apps and its different architecture, then we analyze the framework in term of security, privacy concern and privacy policy. We reported 47 contact tracing applications which are from 28 countries worldwide, with several others expected to be roll out later. We found that 23 percent of contact tracing apps currently implemented do not provide privacy policy in their documentation. We believe that these comprehensive evaluation and specific suggestions will lead to creation and implementation of solutions towards Covid-19 and support governments and mobile development industries in creating safe and privacy conserving apps for contact tracing solutions.

The South Scandinavian chair pendants of the late Viking Age form a famous and much debated find category. They have been associated with the cult of Odin as well as female seeresses. However, their find contexts clearly link the amulets intimately to a female use-sphere and their condition shows that they have been worn intensely. With a new pendant emerging from the detector finds from Gudme, Denmark, the connection between chair amulets and dominant settlements is further strengthened. The female prerogative, the locational aristocratic reference in combination with the chairs association with royal privileges lead to the argument that the amulets must be connected with the deep historical presence of the seeress as a sovereign power across Northern Europe. Her position is explained as a triangulation of Seeress, Odin and King which are all represented as being seated. Consequently, seating is regarded as a main attribute and a recurring and noticeable privilege for all three characters. Thus, the chair en miniature is argued to function as a material anchoring of the socio-symbolic understanding of the seated sovereign seeress.

In the Amazon many forest species present problems of identification and obtaining botanical material with reproductive structures is not always possible. The macro and microscopic characteristics of the wood of three species of the genus Tachigali Aubl were analyzed in order to determine basic differences among the species. The collection of material was carried at the Forest Management Unit III, in the Flona do Jamari (Jamari National Forest), where we selected arboreal individuals from the species Tachigali poeppigiana Tul., Tachigali setifera (Ducke) Zarucchi & Herend and Tachigali subvelutina (Benth.) Oliveira-Filho, commonly known in Brazil as Tachi Preto (Black Tachi), Tachi Vermelho (Red Tachi) and Tachi Amarelo (Yellow Tachi), respectively, in which the coloring of the core is the main attribute for assigning their vernacular name. Heartwood samples were collected for the making of the specimens. The axial parenchyma was vasicentric and unilateral for T. poeppigiana and T. setifera, and unilateral and sparse for T. subvelutina. Pores were classified as medium and large for T. setifera and T. poeppigiana and very uncommon for T. subvelutina; however, they are medium and very uncommon for the three species. All species showed uniseriate, non-stratified and homogeneous rays. We concluded there are anatomical characteristics that allow the differentiation of the species from the genus Tachigali, which may be used to assist in forest management plans, as well as the surveillance system.
