A new construction of a lowpass filter was developed based on a two-dimensional microstrip electromagnetic crystal, which had a steeper slope of the frequency response as compared to a filter consisting of a one-dimensional microstrip electromagnetic crystal. The investigated lowpass filter construction is characterized by a high workability and ease of manufacturing. Electrodynamic numerical simulation of the 3D model of the considered microstrip structure agrees well with the experiment, which allows conducting parametric synthesis of devices with the required properties using a personal computer.

The selection of equipment for mechanical wastewater treatment is an important stage in the reconstruction or new construction of the treatment facilities that determines their efficiency and reliability in terms of the technology and operation. The examples of the currently widespread technical solutions for designing filtering cloth of the screens for mechanical wastewater treatment are given. The effectiveness of these solutions is compared. On the basis of studying wastewater treatment facilities in Germany, a comparison of the debris retention efficiency depending on the applied filtration grade, i. e., two-dimensional (perforation) and one-dimensional (bar spacing) is presented.

In 2005, Philippe Guillot presented a new construction of Boolean functions using linear codes as an extension of the Maiorana–McFarland’s (MM) construction of bent functions. In this paper, we study a new family of Boolean functions with cryptographically strong properties, such as non-linearity, propagation criterion, resiliency, and balance. The construction of cryptographically strong Boolean functions is a daunting task, and there is currently a wide range of algebraic techniques and heuristics for constructing such functions; however, these methods can be complex, computationally difficult to implement, and not always produce a sufficient variety of functions. We present in this paper a construction of Boolean functions using algebraic codes following Guillot’s work.

In this paper, we propose quantum stabilizer codes based on a new construction of self-orthogonal trace-inner product codes over the Galois field with 4 elements (GF(4)). First, from any two binary vectors, we construct a generator matrix of linear codes whose components are over GF(4). We prove that the proposed linear codes comply with the self-orthogonal, trace-inner product. Then, we propose mapping tables to construct new quantum stabilizer codes by using linear codes. Comparison results show that our proposed quantum codes have various dimensions for any code length with the capacity for better errors correction relative to the referenced quantum codes.

AbstractIn this paper modernization of a three-stage chlorine centrifugal compressor, in which chlorine is pressurized has been described. Machine nominal mass flow has been increased by 20% and the pressure rise has remained almost unchanged. New construction concept has been chosen basing on analysis of different design variants. Calculations were conducted with one-dimensional method with usage of in-house developed code. Algorithms implemented to this program are based on empirical studies and wide experience in compressor modernization and design. Moreover, results of modified machine acceptance test results, which satisfies VDI norm 2045/ISO 5389 has been presented.

“Dynamical mixing”, i.e. relaxation of a stellar phase space distribution through interaction with the mean gravitational field, is numerically investigated for a one-dimensional self-gravitating stellar gas. Qualitative results are presented in the form of a motion picture of the flow of phase points (representing homogeneous slabs of stars) in two-dimensional phase space.

Recent progress in the electron-mirror microscopy (EMM), e.g., an improvement of its resolving power together with an increase of the magnification makes it useful for investigating the ferroelectric domain physics. English has recently observed the domain texture in the surface layer of BaTiO3. The present authors ) have developed a theory by which one can evaluate small one-dimensional electric fields and/or topographic step heights in the crystal surfaces from their EMM pictures. This theory was applied to a quantitative study of the surface pattern of BaTiO3).
