AbstractDrones are one of the latest tools to have been added to farmers’ precision agriculture technology tool kit. Despite the proclaimed benefits, adoption rates of drones are low and literature regarding the adoption of drones in agriculture is scarce. Therefore, this study investigates whether an extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) can contribute to the understanding of latent factors influencing farmers’ intention to adopt a drone. The sample of 167 German farmers was collected in 2019 via an online survey. Using partial least squares structural equation modelling and a binary model, the TAM explains 69% of the variance in the intention to use a drone by German farmers. According to the results, raising farmers’ awareness of farm-specific areas of drone application and the confidence level of using a drone can increase farmers’ intention to adopt a drone. The results are of interest for agribusinesses developing drones as well as selling or providing drones. Furthermore, the results are of interest for researchers in precision agriculture technologies.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are commonly perceived as an essential part of boosting and stabilizing global economic growth. In 2018, SMEs recorded a 38.3% contribution to GDP of RM521.7 billion compared to RM491.2 billion in 2017. SMEs are expected to contribute 50% to Malaysia's GDP by 2030 relative to its present 38% contribution. However, in the context of Malaysia businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, are still not embracing the latest technology revolution sufficiently, as reported by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (2018). Malaysia is currently in the third industrial revolution (automation), and some are still under the second industrial revolution. Such matter is worrying as only a few industries in Malaysia can adopt pillars of Industry 4.0, where business owners in Malaysia were still hesitant to embrace technologies such as the cloud. To bridge the gap in this analysis, this research adopted the technology acceptance model developed by Davis (1989) and Rogers' Diffusion Innovation Theory (1995), which incorporates the contexts of technology and innovation among SMEs in Malaysia. By using survey questionnaires, data was collected among manufacturing and services SMEs in Malaysia. Structural equation model employed to assess the important factors of innovation in adopting cloud computing among SMEs in Malaysia by using Smart-PLS. Keywords: Cloud computing, Industry 4.0, Innovation, Technological

This study examines the applicability of an extended technology acceptance model (TAM) that incorporates trust, perceived risk, and self-enhancement as antecedents to the TAM constructs. Data collected from 299 Vietnamese online consumers, through a self-administered survey, were entered into a structural equation model using AMOS 23 to establish causality. The results partially confirm the applicability of TAM to the online shopping intentions of Vietnamese consumer, though contrary to expectations, perceived ease of use does not predict behavioral intentions. Trust and self-enchantment fit well with the TAM; the inclusion of perceived risk as an antecedent is questionable. The findings offer new opportunities for explaining TAM theory in light of Schwartz's value dimensions. This article thus concludes with a discussion of the research contributions and implications.

The study is to propose the structural equation model for sustainability in higher education about the use of cloud learning based on the technology acceptance model. Also, this well-known implemented-model was developed by Davis et al.’s technology acceptance model (TAM). The researchers instituted the hypothesized internal hierarchy among content quality, cloud computing, and social cloud for sustainability usage. The informed hypothesis was obtained from a scientific method known as the systematic literature review. After that, the higher education institutes in Thailand has given attention to the burgeoning of cloud learning due to the additional demand in line with technology development for tertiary instruction in the country. Nevertheless, the strength of its usage is not very outstanding, and there is a need to understand the student’s attitude on the sustainability usage of cloud learning from the perspectives of the technology acceptance model. This study indicated that sustainability usage was a significant predictor towards student to use cloud learning. As a result, it is seen that pupils' attitude plays a vital role in contributing to the sustainability to use cloud learning. The consequence of this study is expected to improve and upgraded cloud learning to be beneficial according to the needs of the students.

E-learning in higher education is a technique to improve learning and teaching experience, and as a tool to educate students through digital media, with or without the guidance of their instructors. STMIK BI Balikpapan has been using it since 2015, but its implementation has not been as optimal as expected. The research aims to identify the factors that influence the success of the application of e-learning in STMIK BI Balikpapan by referring to the model adopted from TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) and TOE (technological, organizational and environment). The research respondents were 94 people. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) through the Smart PLS program. The results showed that of the four hypotheses tested, one hypotheses had significant influence (habits) and the other three hypotheses were not significant (connections, motivation and facility).

E-learning is a kind of learning by utilizing information and communication technology. The success of using e-learning influenced by various factors. Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is a model developed by Davis (1989) that is used to find out the acceptance and use of technology. The purpose of TAM is to explain the determinants of computer acceptance in general, which can explain user behavior in various computing technologies of end-users and user populations, saving time and theoretically justified. This model aims to predict and explain the factors that need to be corrected. This study focused on six variables, namely the perception of use, the perception of ease, attitude, and behavior. The analysis technique used to analyze data was SEM (Structural Equation Model) analysis. The research subjects were 262 students. The results of this study were (1) perception of use had a strong effect on the attitude of the use of e-learning, (2) perception of ease had a strong effect on the attitude of the use of e-learning, (3) perception of use had a moderate effect on the behavior of the use of e-learning, (4) perception of ease had a moderate effect on e-learning usage behavior, and (5) strong e-learning attitude toward e-learning behavior. The use of e-learning must pay attention to the user's attitude towards the technology used and the user's perception of the ease of use. AbstrakE-learning merupakan pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan teknologi onformasi dan komunikasi. PurposeVoice-activated smart speakers such as Amazon Echo and Google Home were recently developed and are gaining popularity. Understanding and theorizing the underlying mechanisms that encourage or impede consumers to use smart speakers is fundamental for enhancing acceptance and future development of these new devices. Therefore, building on technology acceptance research, this study aims to develop and test an acceptance model for investigating consumers’ intention to use smart speakers.Design/methodology/approachFirst, antecedents that may significantly affect the usage intention of smart speakers were identified through an explorative approach by a netnographic analysis of customer reviews (N= 2,186) and Twitter data (N= 899). Afterward, these results and contemporary literature were used to develop and validate an acceptance model for smart speakers. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to test the proposed hypotheses on data collected from 293 participants of an online survey.FindingsBesides perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, the quality and diversity of a system, its enjoyment, consumer’s technology optimism and risk (surveillance anxiety and security/privacy risk) strongly affect the acceptance of smart speakers. Among these variables, enjoyment had the strongest effect on behavioral intention to use smart speakers.Originality/valueThis is the first study that incorporates netnography and SEM for investigating technology acceptance and applies it to the field of interactive smart devices.
