In the current global dynamic and competitive business environment of Industry 4.0, small and medium-sized enterprises face a major challenge of expanding their market activities and adapt to new conditions in order to survive in times of economic or pandemic crisis. The implementation of comprehensive quality management in business environment within EU organizations is a response to this challenge for global competition (Abdul, Sumantoro, & Maria, 2019). Current problem is the fact that the implementation and monitoring of quality management as a process of business management in the majority of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is not sufficiently used, underestimated, or even considered to be obsolete (Rigby, Bilodeau, 2018). In an enterprise with good financial health and healthy corporate culture, all transactions and processes are carried out properly and the relationships among all stakeholders (employees, suppliers, and customers) are successful. For other companies, it is necessary to take steps to ensure quality and follow them (Fernandes et al., 2017) in order to move towards the concept of Industry 4.0. According to published professional literature, each research worker has developed their own framework for mapping value production operations based on specific needs and interests in the fields under review. However, the relationship between the quality processes and value stream maps has not been adequately addressed in professional literature, especially in the case of small and medium-sized enterprises. Therefore, for achieving the objective of the contribution, the following research questions have been formulated: To which extent quality participates in generating value added within production process? In which production operations does the quality factor contributes most to generating value added? Keywords: Quality value stream map, Value stream map, quality management, added value for the customer.

Coffee is called Kopi in both Indonesia and Malaysia. It was said to be introduced to these two countries during the period of colonisation. Various studies (i.e., Robelt McStocker, 1987; Jeff Neilson & Felicity Shonk, 2014; Cheryl Chang & Ian McGonigle, 2020) have discussed the coffee industries, coffee consumption and political economy of livelihood opportunities in these coffee-producing regions. In her book titled, "Coffee Culture: Local Experiences, Global Connections", Tucker (2010) asserts that "coffee is a material substance, but culture infuses with social and symbolic meanings" (p. 6). Both Indonesia and Malaysia demonstrate their own patterns of appreciation on coffee culture and cultural heritage in digital formats in a modern setting. According to Jambunathan (2019), upward mobility in coffee-business families in these regions is playing a role, as well-educated younger generations have successfully propelled new technique and advance application on numerous aspects of coffee business. The growth in new knowledge and technology has substantially increased the complexity of the projects that is strongly influencing the time, cost, and quality of the project management. Due to the volatility of the current market, the effectiveness of knowledge management (KM) could reduce the project uncertainties, project life cycle costs, and risks of new product development (NPD). Since NPD is regarded as the key to innovation due to its strong connection between the knowledge and core competence, the ways how the knowledge will be captured, created, and shared among the project teams is important to remain competitive in today's business and market competition. Hence, the modes of how they are created and shared between the project team members as well as the impact of KM towards NPD will be discussed in this paper. KM are normally created and transferred through the conversion between explicit and tacit knowledge, which can be further applied into the project management. Furthermore, the existing knowledge of the organisation can be evaluated by the actions of decision makers, hence, it is undoubted that a better knowledge can lead to measurable efficiencies in production and product development. The key success factors of KM that have been implemented will be discussed in this paper as well, which help to increase the probability of project success. Most SMEs show a struggle in developing human quality and in particular, Indonesia's SMEs, also lack process controls due to their beliefs and cultures. Nonetheless, despite the positive impacts for the business sustainability that previous researchers have found, the implementation of MCS still has not been adequately done by the SME due to their several limitations. Thus, this paper aims to analyze a company perspective regarding the MCS implementation, specifically in the new phenomenon related to the contingent factors that arise from company issues and challenges using a case study from a clothing manufacturing company. The research question proposes for this research study is "How does Indonesia's SME implement its management control within limited resources and local culture?" A rising number of cases involving ethical misconduct within firms have of late received considerable attention in Malaysia. Despite the country's declaring having a strong corporate governance policy, strengthened through the Code of Ethics for Company Directors and Malaysia Code of Corporate Governance, the unethical practices and lack of integrity within firms remain an issue. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Malaysia conducted a survey in 2018, it was found that 41 percent of Malaysian registered companies were guilty of committing some forms of economic crimes, specifically business misconduct, asset misappropriation, bribery, and corruption. They added, the actual number may be higher due to many cases of ethical misconduct that typically go unreported. Furthermore, crimes of ethical misconduct in Malaysia have also increased by 28 percent in the last two years. It was revealed taht corporate culture was the most influential element in helping detect early warning signs of ethical misconduct within a firm. A KPMG 2019 report published in the subsequent year also suggested that an unhinged desire for a wealthy lifestyle acts as a prime motivation behind many of the unethical behaviors discovered. Thus, in the light of the increasingly worsening situation of ethical misconduct in Malaysian firms, the need to explore these corporate ethical issues has never become more crucial and appropriate. The ubiquitous nature of the issue has subsequently jeopardized the financial reporting quality of Malaysia's firms.
