In order to solve the lubrication problem of the hydrostatic center rest, a optimal design concerning structure of hydrostatic center rest is studied. ANSYS has been used to compute three-dimensional stress and deformation fields of hydrostatic center rest. This research analyzes the stress and deformation of hydrostatic center rest, and it has revealed its stress and deformation distribution law. Results indicate that a characteristic will be improved by optimal design and the reliability of a hydrostatic center rest can be predicted through this method.

The contact finite element method is proposed to analyze the stress and deformation distribution of elastic expansion sleeve in the paper. The maximum stress position of each component under the most dangerous working condition is obtained. The effect of structure dimension on stress and deformation of elastic expansion sleeve is found out. The structure dimension meeting the practical requirements is gotten. The analysis results provide the reliable theory basis for the design. The optimization for the structure and processing technology of elastic expansion sleeve is realized, based on simulating the design structure.

Considering the weight and loading conditions of the multi-shaft transmission box, build the finite element model and mathematical model for the box using the finite element method. According to ANSYS WORKBENCH, calculate the boxs load capacity and stress and deformation distribution under 9 working conditions then evaluate its strength and rigidity. Optimize the structure of the box to reduce its weight. The results show that the optimized box meets the strength requirements. After optimization, the multi-shaft transmission box weights 176.578 kilograms, reduced by 30.26 percentages. It improves the stress and deformation distribution and makes the structure more reasonable. It also provides important theoretical significance and engineering practical value.

Summary Aim of the study was to find out wether there is a common stop of growth of mandibular bone, so that no individual determination of the optimal time for surgery in patients with asymmetric mandibular bone growth is needed. As there are no epiphyseal plates in the mandibular bone, stop of growth cannot be determined on X-ray films. Methods: Bone scans of 731 patients [687 patients (324 male, 363 female) under 39 y for exact determination of end of growth and 44 (21 male, 23 female) patients over 40 y for evaluation of nongrowth dependant differences in tracer uptake] were reviewed for the study. All the patients were examined 3 hours after injection of 99mTc-DPD. Tracer uptake was measured by region of interest technique in different points of the mandibular bone and in several epiphyseal plates of extremities. Results: Tracer uptake in different epiphyseal plates of the extremities shows strong variation with age and good correlation with reported data of bone growth and closure of the epiphyseal plates. The relative maximum of bone activity is smaller in mandibular bone than in epiphyseal plates, which show well defined peaks, ending at 15-18 years in females and at 18-21 years in males. In contrast, mandibular bone shows no well defined end of growing but a gradually reduction of bone activity which remains higher than bone activity in epiphyseal plates over several years. Conclusion: No well defined end of growth of mandibular bone exists. The optimal age for surgery of asymmetric mandibular bone growth is not before the middle of the third decade of life, bone scans performed earlier for determination of bone growth can be omitted. Bone scans performed at the middle of the third decade of life help to optimize the time of surgical intervention.

Gummy smile is a characteristic in which the patient exposes more than 2 mm of keratinized gingiva in forced smile. With a multifactorial cause, its correct planning depends directly on the correct diagnosis. Usually, the procedures that involve manipulation and the enlargement of the aesthetical crown lengthening are surgical. The objective of this case series was to show the advantages of surgical crown augmentation surgery in aesthetic areas with minimally invasive techniques. Three cases of gummy smile were presented, with different treatment plans and techniques for execution. In the 3 cases, bone removal was performed with piezoelectric ultrasound, which made the postoperative more comfortable for patients. These cases illustrate the use of technology to reduce morbidity in patients who need to undergo bone removal to treat gingival smile.
