Abstract Background The China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) accelerator consists of an 80 MeV H- LINAC, a 1.6 GeV rapid cycling synchrotron (RCS) and two beam transport lines. The uncontrolled beam may permanently damage the components or lead to very high residual radiation dose along the beam line. So the equipment protection must be deliberately designed and implemented. Purpose The machine protection system (MPS) protects components from being damaged by the beam. The response time requirement for the CSNS MPS is less than 20 ms, so the PLC (programmable logic controller) was adopted to implement the interlock logic. Methods The MPS was implemented as a two-tier architecture system, and developed through utilizing PLC and Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System (EPICS) software toolkits. The application logic was taken into careful consideration during the implementation stage. An embedded CPU module can function as an IOC accessing PLC I/O modules through the sequence CPU, with an embedded Linux operation system. Results The interlock logic and heartbeat functions were tested with all functions ok. Time consumption has been measured thoroughly since the important requirement, which is around 15 ms to stop the beam. Conclusions MPS was completed in Sep. 2017 and then put into operation. It has been operating smoothly for more than 3 years. MPS has played an important role in every stage of CSNS’s commissioning and operation and achieved high reliability during the user’s experiment operation. The accelerator recently runs stably with low equipment failure.

This thesis mainly introduces the basic design process of ARM9 car-inserted GPRS terminal , which applied the Mini2440 inserted hardware platform and developed the new car-inserted GPRS terminal, based on ARM9 terminal. Its processor is ATRM9200T which has the function of ARM9 memory used in industry. It inputs the Linux operation system and uses GPRS communication network for wireless communication . This terminal enjoys high reliability and stability. The application procedure has great functionality and it is a cross-subject program with great prospect.

As high performance computing (HPC) becomes a part of the scientific computing landscape, visualizing HPC has become a critical field of its own. This paper describes a visualization cluster solution developed for bridge health monitoring system. First, LCD display, computer with NVIDIA graphic cards, 1G switch and 10G switch are used to build hardware platform; Secondly, Linux operation system, Rocks management software, CGLX middle software is used to display multi-media and 3D data; Finally, OpenSenceGraph 3D graphics engine is used to write high-performance parallel 3D programs. This approach can be used not only for parallel computing, but also for parallel 3D modeling and display. Some application result on bridge health monitoring is given in the end.

Abstract The Mu2e experiment at the Fermilab Muon Campus will search for the coherent neutrinoless conversion of a muon into an electron in the field of an aluminum nucleus with a sensitivity improvement by a factor of 10000 over existing limits. The Mu2e Trigger and Data Acquisition System (TDAQ) uses otsdaq as the online Data Acquisition System (DAQ) solution. Developed at Fermilab, otsdaq integrates both the artdaq DAQ and the art analysis frameworks for event transfer, filtering, and processing. otsdaq is an online DAQ software suite with a focus on flexibility and scalability and provides a multi-user, web-based, interface accessible through a web browser. The data stream from the detector subsystems is read by a software filter algorithm that selects events which are combined with the data flux coming from a cosmic ray veto system. The Detector Control System (DCS) has been developed using the Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System (EPICS) open source platform for monitoring, controlling, alarming, and archiving. The DCS system has been integrated into otsdaq. A prototype of the TDAQ and the DCS systems has been built at Fermilab’s Feynman Computing Center. In this paper, we report on the progress of the integration of this prototype in the online otsdaq software.

In order to realize high speed, high precision, high reliability, miniaturization performance of the CNC (Computer numerical control) system, this paper proposed a hardware platform of embedded CNC system based on OMAPL138 and FPGA. OMAPL138 is a SOC using C6748 DSP kernel and ARM9 kernel dual-core structure, the kernel frequency can achieve up to 375/456 MHz. ARM kernel of the CNC system which runs the Linux operation system is responsible for task management, DSP kernel is in charge of real-time interpolation and look-ahead algorithm, and FPGA module generates pulses to control the movement of the servo motor. Firstly, the overall hardware architecture of the embedded CNC system was designed. Meanwhile the hardware circuit design of CPU core module based on OMAPL138, human-computer interaction module, EMIFA bus interface of the FPGA core module were emphasized in detail, and also the serial port, Ethernet, USB communication interface module were introduced. A serial test experiments have been conducted and the results have shown that this embedded CNC system is powerful and stable.

The safety detection is one of the key procedures in production of car seats and it is also the quality guarantee of car seats. Safety detection items of QBC car seats include the supplemental inflatable restraint system resistance, passenger presence and safety belt power detection. The detection device adopts the passenger presence detection sensor, digital source meter, data acquisition card detect and collection information. The industrial control computer is applied to process information, judge the results. Finally the detection results are saved into the production database in the enterprise server by internet. The application shows that the detection device has high reliability, high automation level and secured data storage mode.
