Abstract Background The China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) accelerator consists of an 80 MeV H- LINAC, a 1.6 GeV rapid cycling synchrotron (RCS) and two beam transport lines. The uncontrolled beam may permanently damage the components or lead to very high residual radiation dose along the beam line. So the equipment protection must be deliberately designed and implemented. Purpose The machine protection system (MPS) protects components from being damaged by the beam. The response time requirement for the CSNS MPS is less than 20 ms, so the PLC (programmable logic controller) was adopted to implement the interlock logic. Methods The MPS was implemented as a two-tier architecture system, and developed through utilizing PLC and Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System (EPICS) software toolkits. The application logic was taken into careful consideration during the implementation stage. An embedded CPU module can function as an IOC accessing PLC I/O modules through the sequence CPU, with an embedded Linux operation system. Results The interlock logic and heartbeat functions were tested with all functions ok. Time consumption has been measured thoroughly since the important requirement, which is around 15 ms to stop the beam. Conclusions MPS was completed in Sep. 2017 and then put into operation. It has been operating smoothly for more than 3 years. MPS has played an important role in every stage of CSNS’s commissioning and operation and achieved high reliability during the user’s experiment operation. The accelerator recently runs stably with low equipment failure.

The paper presents the development of a multifunctional flight display system for light-sport aircraft flying. The requirements and design of the system is discussed. It is mainly designed as a backup system for flying rather than a certified flight instrument. An ARM-core embedded system is chosen as the development platform with Linux operation system. The system basically takes advantage of 3-D positioning information from GPS which has been widely used on general aviation aircraft. Its diverse interfaces provide system redundancy with wired or wireless connection to external sensor systems for aircraft attitude, pressure height, and magnetic heading. The proposed flight display system has been developed and running over the embedded system.

In order to realize high speed, high precision, high reliability, miniaturization performance of the CNC (Computer numerical control) system, this paper proposed a hardware platform of embedded CNC system based on OMAPL138 and FPGA. OMAPL138 is a SOC using C6748 DSP kernel and ARM9 kernel dual-core structure, the kernel frequency can achieve up to 375/456 MHz. ARM kernel of the CNC system which runs the Linux operation system is responsible for task management, DSP kernel is in charge of real-time interpolation and look-ahead algorithm, and FPGA module generates pulses to control the movement of the servo motor. Firstly, the overall hardware architecture of the embedded CNC system was designed. Meanwhile the hardware circuit design of CPU core module based on OMAPL138, human-computer interaction module, EMIFA bus interface of the FPGA core module were emphasized in detail, and also the serial port, Ethernet, USB communication interface module were introduced. A serial test experiments have been conducted and the results have shown that this embedded CNC system is powerful and stable.

This paper covers the current situation of remote monitoring system, combined with the basic features and running environment of GoAhead web server, Put forward the solution to integrate GoAhead web server, Internet, embedded development platform and Linux operation system, design a remote monitoring system. By which the user can monitor voltage and control the stepper motor’s running in real time. The application results show that GoAhead web server reacts rapidly manipulates data quickly. It’s feasible to put into place and to achieve satisfied effect for the management and control of the embedded product.

<p>The System Information Laboratory of Information Technology Department Polytechnic State of Padang has 30 units computer as education facilities to support learning process. All of computers used at same time in a learning section. This case causing trouble to monitoring each students activities.</p> <p>In order to get the solution for the lecturer, the writer then construct a server by using Linux operation system and client by using windows system operation in which Samba File Server is needed. By using this samba, the lecturer will be able to share the data and will be able to use the server as data storage media. Besides that, the writer will also use VNC (Virtual network connection) to simplify the process of monitoring and supervising client working system. Based on the result gotten after the writer done some experiment, it can be concluded that Samba File Server can also be used after some configuration is applied on certain files. Moreover, the writer also conclude that VNC can control the entire of the client. The writer suggests that Samba File server which will be used is the latest version one which has more feature than the previous one, it is suggested that the configuration of VNC is applied on Ubuntu Linux since the service is available.<strong> </strong><strong></strong></p> <strong><em>Kata Kunci</em></strong><em> : Samba File Server, VNC, Ubuntu installation</em>

As an important part of the smart grid, smart meters and advanced metering infrastructures are given the newly missions connected network. Along with Ethernet development smart meters with measurements and networks, meter with BOA can become reality. In this paper a system of smart meter BOA and its smart meter networking has developed. It has real time displays and storage of smart meter data. The system uses a ARM9 (S3C2440) chip with a Linux operation system. Gathering from breaker via RS232, Data are sent to BOA server through named pipes to be displayed on web. At the same time, these data are stored in embed data base SQLite, for feature managements.

Aiming at the requirement of technique improvement for the flow meter verification equipment, the image acquisition and processing technology is combined with the embedded Linux system for obtaining the reading value of the verifying flow meter. A low-cost and moderate function image acquisition and processing embedded system was designed. The system runs on the ARM9 which is embedded with Linux operation system. It can realize the image acquisition of the reading value of the meter, image preprocessing, character positioning, segmentation and recognition based on OpenCV advanced programming, and then display the recognized data results. The research of our project may have a certain reference value for the application and exploring of the image acquisition and processing based on embedded systems in the instrument application.
