In the present study, the effects of the draft ratio of the floating body on the fluid oscillation in the gap are investigated by using the viscous fluid model. Numerical simulations are implemented by coupling wave2Foam and OpenFOAM. The Volume of Fluid (VOF) model is used to capture the free surface waves. It is verified that the numerical results agree well with the experimental and other results. It is firstly found that, within the water depth range investigated in the present study, the depth of the wave tank has a significant effect on the numerical results. As the depth of the wave tank increases, the oscillation amplitude of the narrow-gap fluid largely decreases and the resonant frequency of the fluid oscillation in the narrow gap increases. The results also reveal that the draft ratio of floating bodies has a significant nonlinear influence on the resonant frequency and on the oscillation amplitude of the fluid in the narrow gap. With an increase in the draft of either the floating body on the wave side or the one on the back wave side, the resonant frequency decreases. The increase in the draft of the floating body on the wave side causes an increase in the reflection wave coefficient and leads to a drop in the fluid oscillation amplitude, and the increase in the draft of the floating body on the back wave side triggers a decrease in the reflection wave coefficient and results in an increase in the fluid oscillation amplitude. Meanwhile, the viscous dissipation induced by the fluid viscosity synchronously increases with the oscillation amplitude of the fluid in the increasing gap. Moreover, it is found that the draft ratio mainly affects the horizontal force of the floating body on the back wave side and that the highest calculated force increases with the draft ratio.

A simple design of a metallic circular cross-sectional air-filled cavity is presented. Two probes of varied lengths are used to excite TE112-mode wave into the cavity to give a resonant frequency of 5.86 GHz. The experiments show that the resonant frequency of the cavity resonator decreases as the lengths of the probes are increased. The shortest probe in the range of study gives the closest resonant frequency to the one desired.

It is exciting that the gravitational wave has been confirmed, according to the announcement of LIGO. This would be the time to fix the Einstein equation for the gravitational wave and the nonexistence of the dynamic solution. As a first step, theorists should improve their pure mathematics on non-linear mathematics and related physical considerations beyond Einstein. Then, it is time to rectify the Einstein equation that has no gravitational wave solution which Einstein has recognized, and no dynamic solution that Einstein failed to see. A problem is that physicists in LIGO did not know their shortcomings. Also, in view of the far distance of the sources, it is very questionable that the physicists can determine they are from black holes. Moreover, since the repulsive gravitation can also generate a gravitational wave, the problem of gravitational wave is actually far more complicated than we have known. A useful feature of the gravitational wave based on repulsive gravitation is that it can be easily generated on earth. Thus this can be a new tool for communication because it can penetrate any medium.

Background: Detuning is the main problem that affects the efficiency and transmission distance of the resonant coupling Wireless Power Transmission (WPT). The distance of load and the offset of the load position could cause serious detuning. Methods: This paper presents an adjustable coil in which inductance can be adjusted. Then a model of WPT was established that could compensate resonant frequency automatically using the adjustable coil. Next, the relationship between the primary resonant frequency and the transmission efficiency is analyzed from the circuit. The analysis proved that the design of the adjustable coil could improve the transmission efficiency of the WPT system. Finally, a prototype of WPT system was built. Results: The experimental results showed that WPT system with adjustable coil can improve the transmission efficiency which proves the theoretical research. At the same time, it has essential reference value for the future research of WPT. Conclusion: In this paper, aiming at the system detuning caused by some other factors, such as the position shift of the load during the wireless power transmission, an adjustable coil is proposed.

In modern aircraft designs, following the More Electrical Aircraft (MEA) philosophy, there is a growing need for new high-power converters. In this context, innovative solutions to provide high efficiency and power density are required. This paper proposes an unregulated LLC full-bridge operating at resonant frequency to obtain a constant gain at all loads. The first harmonic approximation (FHA) model is not accurate enough to estimate the voltage gain in converters with high parasitic resistance. A modified FHA model is proposed for voltage gain analysis, and time-based models are used to calculate the instantaneous current required for the ZVS transition analysis. A method using charge instead of current is proposed and used for this ZVS analysis. Using this method, an auxiliary circuit is proposed to achieve complete ZVS within the whole load range, avoiding a gapped transformer design and increasing the efficiency and power density. A 28 Vdc output voltage prototype, with 10 kW peak output power, has been developed to validate the theoretical analysis and the proposed auxiliary circuit. The maximum efficiency (96.3%) is achieved at the nominal power of 5 kW.
