Abstract Objectives The development of approaches to the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases caused by alcohol abuse by targeted pharmacological regulation of intracellular signaling transduction of progenitor cells of nerve tissue is promising. We studied peculiarities of participation of NF-кB-, сАМР/РКА-, JAKs/STAT3-, ERK1/2-, p38-pathways in the regulation of neural stem cells (NSC) and neuronal-committed progenitors (NCP) in the simulation of ethanol-induced neurodegeneration in vitro and in vivo. Methods In vitro, the role of signaling molecules (NF-кB, сАМР, РКА, JAKs, STAT3, ERK1/2, p38) in realizing the growth potential of neural stem cells (NSC) and neuronal-committed progenitors (NCP) in ethanol-induced neurodegeneration modeled in vitro and in vivo was studied. To do this, the method of the pharmacological blockade with the use of selective inhibitors of individual signaling molecules was used. Results Several of fundamental differences in the role of certain intracellular signaling molecules (SM) in proliferation and specialization of NSC and NCP have been revealed. It has been shown that the effect of ethanol on progenitors is accompanied by the formation of a qualitatively new pattern of signaling pathways. Data have been obtained on the possibility of stimulation of nerve tissue regeneration in ethanol-induced neurodegeneration by NF-кB and STAT3 inhibitors. It has been found that the blockage of these SM stimulates NSC and NCP in conditions of ethanol intoxication and does not have a «negative» effect on the realization of the growth potential of intact progenitors (which will appear de novo during therapy). Conclusions The results may serve as a basis for the development of fundamentally new drugs to the treatment of alcoholic encephalopathy and other diseases of the central nervous system associated with alcohol abuse.

The MSME sector occupies a position of strategic significance in the Indian economic structure. This sector contributes nearly eight per cent to country’s GDP, employing over 80 million people in nearly 36 million widely-dispersed enterprises across the country; accounting for 45 per cent of manufactured output, 40 per cent of the country’s total export, and producing more than 8000 valueadded products ranging from traditional to high-tech. Furthermore, these enterprises are the nurseries for innovation and entrepreneurship, which will be key to the future growth of India. It is also an acknowledged fact that this sector can help realise the target of the proposed National Manufacturing Policy to enhance the share of manufacturing in GDP to 25 per cent and to create 100 million jobs by the end of 2022, as well as to foster growth and take India from its present two trillion dollar economy to a 20 trillion dollar economy. Despite the sector’s high enthusiasm and inherent capabilities to grow, its growth story still faces a number of challenges. In this light, the present paper examines the role of Indian MSMEs in India’s economic growth and explores various problems faced by the sector. The paper also attempts to discuss various policy measures undertaken by the Government to strengthen Indian MSMEs. Finally, the paper proposes strategies aimed at strengthening the sector to enable it to unleash its growth potential and help make India a 20 trillion dollar economy.

The article examines the situation with the export of services from Kazakhstan. The dynamics of the volume and relative parameters of export of services, its structure by main types and geographical areas are analyzed. Long-term tendencies of foreign trade in services are revealed, the role of export of services in the total volume of exports of Kazakhstan is compared with other countries and their groups. The features of the export of the two largest types of Kazakhstani export of services – transport and travel are considered in detail. The directions of stimulating export of certain types of services that can make a significant contribution to increasing exports and ensure the advanced development of non-resource foreign trade are substantiated.

AbstractConstitutional delay of growth and puberty (CDGP) is the most common presenting form of short stature, but no single test can infallibly discriminate CDGP and isolated hypogonado- trophic hypogonadism. Management of puberty in CDGP aims to optimise not only growth - maintaining body proportions and improving peak bone mass without impairing growth potential - but also well-being; for example, the distress boys often suffer because of their lack of growth and pubertal progression can affect their school performance and social relationships. Typical sex steroid treatments to induce puberty in boys with CDGP include testosterone (T) enanthate, T undecanoate, mixed T esters, T transdermal patches, and oxandrolone p.o. Compared with other regimens, short-course low-dose depot T i.m. is an effective, practical, safe, well tolerated, and inexpensive regimen. Some unresolved problems in management include optimal timing and dose of sex steroid treatment, the role of GH in CDGP, and the management of CDGP in girls.

Intrinsic neurite growth potential is a key determinant of neuronal regeneration efficiency following injury. The stereotypical remodeling of Drosophila γ-neurons includes developmental regrowth of pruned axons to form adult specific connections, thereby offering a unique system to uncover growth potential regulators. Motivated by the dynamic expression in remodeling γ-neurons, we focus here on the role of actin elongation factors as potential regulators of developmental axon regrowth. We found that regrowth in vivo requires the actin elongation factors Ena and profilin, but not the formins that are expressed in γ-neurons. In contrast, primary γ-neuron sprouting in vitro requires profilin and the formin DAAM, but not Ena. Furthermore, we demonstrate that DAAM can compensate for the loss of Ena in vivo. Similarly, DAAM mutants express invariably high levels of Ena in vitro. Thus, we show that different linear actin elongation factors function in distinct contexts even within the same cell type and that they can partially compensate for each other.

This research addresses bed-load transport in the fluvial environment. Based on the current knowledge, it is first noted that this problem is by far not solved. The eminent questions ask for a large experimental campaign by which the basic issues are solved first, and then expanded to more challenging topics relating to questions not included in the first stage involving uniform water and sediment flows. A number of currently available experimental techniques is mentioned by which a high-quality laboratory experimentation should be feasible. Next, the effects of various fundamental transport parameters should be cleared using both systematic experimentation and data analyses. An improved bed-load transport equation should be established first, by which the current tools are replaced to produce better agreement with prototype data. The role of computational hydraulics is also highlighted, to apply results to natural rivers. Froude similitude should be carefully applied so that the laboratory data can safely be transferred to prototype conditions, if the limitations are respected.

<p>The significant role of trade credit in financing large companies and small and medium-sized enterprises leads to high stocks of account receivables within the balance sheets of German firms. As a result the importance of working capital financing is growing and the demand for accounts receivables financing (factoring) increases. The German factoring industry is dominated by banks. In addition to bank-owned financial institutions, many non-bank financial institutions are represented on the market. In a context of a continuing market consolidation, it is of interest whether there are differences in terms of profitability depending on shareholder groups (financial institution, non-financial institution, non holding). The German factoring market is an extremely growing market with further growth potential in an ongoing market consolidation. A further market consolidation is probable because the administrative expenses of small financial institutions and institutions without any holding are high. However, subsidiaries of a financial holding or non-financial holding show significantly lower administrative expenses. The results show that the profitability of the financial institutions is significantly influenced by the shareholders and the size of the institution. Financial institutions of a financial holding (bank-owned) are significantly less profitable than institutions without any holding or institutions of a non-financial holding. A similar picture emerges in the achieved margins of factors.</p>
