The article is devoted to the study of interethnic attitudes of people of different nationalities in the labor sphere. Based on the data of 24-s wave of RLMS-HSE, interviews and focus groups, we study the readiness to accept a boss of a different nationality, as well as factors affecting the perception of a foreign boss (gender, age, education, profession, marital status, type of settlement and economic conditions).

Low productivity and high electricity consumption are considered problems of the hammer mill, which is widely used in current feed production. In this paper, the mechanical properties of corn grain ground by a hammer mill were analysed, and the key factors affecting the performance of the hammer mill were determined. The single-factor experiment and three-factor, three-level quadratic regression orthogonal experiment were carried out with the spindle speed, corn grain moisture content and number of hammers as experimental factors and the productivity and electricity consumption per ton as evaluation indexes. The results showed that the order of influence on the productivity was spindle speed > corn grain moisture content > number of hammers and that the order of influence on the electricity consumption per ton was corn grain moisture content > spindle speed > number of hammers. The parameters were optimized based on the response surface method with the following results: the spindle speed was 4306 r/min, the corn grain moisture content was 10%, and the number of hammers was 24. The validation experiment was carried out with the optimal parameters’ combination. The productivity and electricity consumption per ton were 988.12 kg/h and 5.37 kW·h/t, respectively, which were consistent with the predicted results of the model.

In the context of dramatically increase in electricity demand, Vietnam's potential for power supply remains limited. Research and promotion of electricity saving behavior of households become significant to reduce electricity consumption and protect ecological environment. This study incorporates elements of planned behavior theory (TPB) and norm activation model (NAM) as the basis for developing and extending key assumptions. In addition, expansion TPB is used to study influence factors affecting electricity saving behavior. Through a sample of 395 randomly selected residents in Tay Ninh Province and Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam, the proposals were checked using a structural equation model (SEM). The results showed that the factors in TPB and NAM (such as perceived behavioral control, subjective norm, attitude, personal moral norm) and additional factor (perceived benefit) are the important factors that influence resident's intention of saving electricity. Moreover, electricity saving behavior is strongly influenced by the intention of saving electricity, perceived benefit, policy and social propaganda. Based on these results, some inferences are drawn, and recommendations are made for policy makers and further research proposals are discussed.

Geriatric psychiatry will be increasingly important in years to come as the care of the elderly becomes a health problem in India. Those aged 60 and over contribute to 6% of the country's population at present. The life expectancy of an average Indian has increased from 24 years in 1900 to 53 in 1971. Improved health care promises longevity, but social and economic conditions like poverty, breakup of the joint family system and poor services, specifically for the aged, pose a psychiatric threat to them. Organic diseases and affective disorders form the bulk of psychiatric illnesses in the aged. Suggestions for research in areas such as social, cultural and changing attitudes, and national economics, have been suggested as a promising field for preventive geriatric services. Adding life to years is more important than adding years to life. The paper offers some references to the studies on geriatric psychiatry in India and discusses cultural factors affecting the aged.

The article deals with the assessment of the dominant factors that have the greatest impact on the energy intensity of products. A method is proposed that makes it possible to single out the most significant factors from all the variety of factors affecting energy indicators and to give an appropriate assessment to each of them. Methods and mathematical models are proposed that can be used for current and medium-term forecasting of electricity consumption. The analysis is carried out and the energy characteristics of production units are developed, depending on the reduced and total volume of manufactured products. Using linear programming methods, the energy intensity coefficients of the entire range of products manufactured by individual production units are obtained.

AbstractThe article is an attempt to assess whether foreign discriminatory models can be used in conditions of the Polish economy. To date, there is no one voice on this issue. There are views that this approach is wrong. It results from different factors affecting a given economy, or another character of the economy itself. Another issue is also differences in financial reporting of individual countries, which is translated into financial data. In turn, a different view is presented by the trend that foreign models can be used in the conditions of the Polish economy, while the differences that appear do not significantly affect the quality and reliability of the received diagnosis. Accordingly, the article attempts to verify both above positions. For the purposes of the study, the article presents the results of research on a sample of 25 bankrupt companies from the years 2012 to 2017, which declared liquidation bankruptcy, and their 25 healthy counterparts. The diagnosis of their financial situation was made using E. Altman’s model of 1983. The results of the study confirm the validity of the thesis that a more correct solution is to adopt the second thesis, namely foreign models can be used in the conditions of the Polish economy, but only after suitable modifications and consideration of the Polish economic conditions. In contrast, the use of foreign models without such a procedure should not take place. Such an approach may have an impact on receiving an incorrect diagnosis which does not correspond to the real situation in the surveyed entity.
