The Abstract The research aims to determine the role of debt variable, corporate size and growth to the high financial performance of a company with the basis of signaling hypothesis.  Analysis method used is multiple linear regression. The unit of analysis is automotive companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange period of 2012-2016. The results of the classical assumption test indicate that this research is free of multicollinear, heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation. The results indicate that debt results in negative direction and not significant, corporate size has a negative direction and not significant and company growth has a negative direction and significant. The three results are not in accordance with the hypothesis proposed in the study.  The present research has limitation that variables  used can only explain 14.4% and the rest are explained by other variables beyond this study.

Based on the signaling theory, this study seeks to explain the interaction of corporate value and the disclosure of intellectual capital in a framework of analysis of recursive models. Testing the recursive model also involves firm size and company growth as a characteristic of the company to clarify the mediating role of intellectual capital in mediating both of the firm's values. We find a positive relationship between firm size and growth on intellectual capital disclosure. The greater the size and growth of the company, the more it encourages companies to disclose intellectual capital in the company's annual report. Also, we find a non-recursive model between intellectual capital disclosure and firm value. This shows that the broader the disclosure of IC information by the company, the better the investor's perception of the company is reflected in the value of the company. Meanwhile, at different times the current condition of the company's value will encourage companies to disclose more complete IC information.

Even though firm sustainability is a long-standing concern, just a few studies on micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sustainability have been conducted. Many studies have concentrated on a few particular sustainability criteria, but there is no comprehensive study on the subject from which to make concrete conclusions. The present research was inspired by the idea to examine how resources such as financial literacy, financial access and company development influence the sustainability of MSMEs. Data was gathered from 438 owner-managers of micro, small and medium enterprises through a questionnaire. The research discovered that financial literacy, financial availability and company growth are positively correlated with firm sustainability when using partial least squares. Surprisingly, the research found that financial access and firm growth moderate the anticipated connection between financial literacy and sustainability. As a result, policymakers and practitioners should ensure that firms have better access to financial resources, that owner-managers have the necessary financial literacy and that micro, small and medium-sized businesses grow effectively better firm sustainability.

______ This paper focuses on the role of the entrepreneur in the adaptation process, how we can determine the role of the entrepreneur to environmental changes and to strategic adaptation itself. The paper begins with the presentation of the entrepreneurial models, focusing on the entrepreneurial management afterwards continues with a brief summary of the adaptation approach to strategy. Emphasizing that adaptation to changes can vary as innovation or entrepreneurship is concerned. Proactivity presents an adaptation strategy and moreover can be related to entrepreneurial behaviour and therefore characterizes the viewpoint of the entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs have to react to the changing environmental with analysis and proactive reaction, as future and innovation orientation is an integrate part of their entrepreneurial personality. Examining 14 interviews made with Hungarian entrepreneurs the paper identifies three categories which determine the role of the entrepreneurs in the adaptation process.

This study sought to find out the role of intrapreneurship on the growth of iron and steel manufacturing companies in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. A post-positivist paradigm, a mixed method approach and a cross sectional design were adopted for the investigation. Three hundred and fifteen (315) middle management and supervisory staff drawn from twenty-two (22) iron and steel manufacturing companies in Bulawayo participated. Multiple stratified random sampling and heterogeneous purposive sampling were used to choose two hundred (200) respondents for the quantitative study and eight participants for the qualitative study respectively. Questionnaires and in-depth interviews were the data collecting instruments for quantitative and qualitative data respectively. Quantitative data was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics and qualitative data was thematically analysed. Findings revealed that innovativeness, proactiveness, and risk taking were the key dimensions of intrapreneurship. Both quantitative and qualitative analyses showed the prominent measures of company growth in the iron and steel manufacturing companies as financial, employee numbers, productivity, and product range. Statistically intrapreneurship was found to be correlated to the growth of the iron and steel manufacturing companies. The study drew the following conclusions. Firstly, intrapreneurship is not a preferred strategy for driving growth in the iron and steel manufacturing companies in Bulawayo. Secondly, financial and product range were identified as the key measures of company growth. Thirdly, company support for intrapreneurship and individual’s intrapreneurial disposition were statistically linked to company growth. The study recommended that companies should motivate and support employees’ innovativeness, proactiveness, and risk taking through ideas, actions and work. Measurement of company growth should be expanded to include qualitative measures.

This case study examines how top academic managers make sense of entrepreneurship at the university. Based on semiotic analysis, the findings outline three management narratives. The entrepreneurial narrative emphasizes management by experience, the humanistic narrative focuses on management by networks and the development narrative highlights management by vision. Unpacking the dynamics of each narrative, our analysis sheds light on the conflicted role of academic managers at a crossroads between traditional academia and entrepreneurial management. Research Questions/Objective How top academic managers make sense of entrepreneurship at the university through narratives? Links to Theory The conceptual and theoretical framework of this case study is built based on academic entrepreneurship and narrative theory. Phenomenon Studied Academic entrepreneurship Case Context Academic top managers of a Finnish multidisciplinary university Findings The findings outline how top academic managers make sense of academic entrepreneurship through three management narratives. The entrepreneurial narrative centres around the idea of management by experience and emphasizes the manager’s own entrepreneurial experiences. The humanistic narrative centres around the idea of management by networks highlighting how the managers can guide and assist others who act as entrepreneurs. Finally, the development narrative centres around management by vision and focuses on the overall picture of the entrepreneurial university. Discussions The case study implies that academic entrepreneurship (AE) is understood and conceptualized by the managers in multifaceted and sometimes contradictory ways. Representing the frontline of academic management and changes in Finnish universities, the top academic managers are confronted with tensions between the ideals of traditional academia and the contemporary entrepreneurial developments in universities. This study contributes to the field of academic management by highlighting the much-needed experience-based perspective of top academic managers in relation to AE.
