The relevance of the article is due to the need to influence the adaptation process during the period of study at the university. The purpose of the article is to identify the features of the adaptation of school graduates to the educational activities of the university. The leading method to investigate this problem is the testing method. The study involved first-year students in the number of 75 people. The article analyzes the results of testing of first-year students at the beginning of the academic year and in the second semester (at the end of the academic year). The effectiveness of psychological and pedagogical support of first-year students aimed at solving problems with adaptation is proved. The study showed that the adaptation of school graduates to the educational activities of the university is built through the adaptation of an individual to a new social group and is formed due to external and internal indicators (attitude to oneself, attitude to others, mental stability, dominance). The article will be useful to employees of the education system, curators of academic groups, teachers-psychologists.

When thinking about nature, it is impossible to overlook fauna, which contributes to its constant transformation, mainly through the development of new species. The author of the article sheds light on the current situation of animals living e.g. in national parks, focusing on pro-environmental activities on social media and non-virtual media, and on destructive human behaviour. The growing tourism- and economy-related infrastructurisation of the mountains as well as their increasingly frequent exploration by humans force animals to change their familiar habitats. Owing to the animals’ natural territorialism as well as instinctive fight for species survival, in the case of stronger specimens we often see altruistic actions to protect the group under threat. The interference of humans with the natural environment forces animals to acquire social behaviours which are a consequence of a long adaptation process. The author of the article also examines selected aspects of ethology, that is study of inherited and acquired animal behaviour. However, the appropriation of the mountains by humans and their adaptation to human needs are characterised by a relatively high awareness of the impact on animal life, a fact reflected in numerous ecological and faunistic campaigns seeking to protect natural habitats and their indigenous residents. The article also features an analysis of campaigns and projects that are to make people sensitive to the fact that they are guests at a home of species other than the human species.

The problem of chemo/antibiotic resistance in modern medicine remains relevant today. The sensitivity of microorganisms (MO) determines the range of drugs used, which ultimately affects the effectiveness of treatment and the prognosis for the patient. However, taking into account the adaptation process of individual strains of MO, the uncontrolled use of antibiotics will inevitably lead to the maintenance of the so-called crisis of antibiotic resistance throughout the world, as well as the formation of a vicious circle that reduces the functional and anatomical outcomes of the treatment of any inflammatory diseases, including ophthalmological ones. This article presents the process of experimental creation and certification, assessment of the physicochemical properties of quantum dots, as well as biological nanoconjugates as an option for overcoming the antibiotic resistance of certain strains of microorganisms in the treatment of infectious and inflammatory pathology in ophthalmology, in particular endophthalmitis. Also, an animal model has demonstrated the safety of using InP / ZnSe / ZnS 660 quantum dot solutions for intravitreal administration in pure form and in combination with antibiotics.

The article is devoted to the problem of adaptation of foreign students studying at a medical university. The growth of integration processes in the educational system requires an understanding of the peculiarities of the adaptation process that accompanies young people who have arrived in Russia for higher education. The speed of adaptation to new conditions depends on many factors, and the proximity of cultures or awareness of its features, as well as knowledge of the language of the host country, is of no small importance. To study the peculiarities of adaptation of foreign students in Russia who arrived for medical education, we interviewed two groups of students, a total of 144 people, who arrived from near and far abroad. As a result of comparing the survey results, we found that a significant cultural distance and lack of knowledge of the Russian language delay the process of adaptation of a group of students from far abroad. Based on the results obtained, we have proposed ways to mitigate the adaptation process of foreign students.

The article elaborates on ways of English loanwords integration into Ukrainian, with comparison to the situation in German and Serbian. The subject matter of research includes processes of adaptation in phonetics and grammar of the above-mentioned languages. The main intralinguistic factor that influences adaptation process is disparity of phonetic and grammar level configuration of languages in contacts. English has an affluent system of vowels that causes necessity of simplification of a phonetic form of English borrowings in other languages. The major factor of phonetic adaptation is an existing tradition of conveying sounds in loanwords in a certain way. However, nowadays transcription also plays a significant role in phonetic adaptation, i.e. integration of loanwords is based on their pronunciation rather than spelling. Uncertainty of patterns for conveying sounds of foreign languages in loanwords leads to variability of phonetic form of English loanwords at the initial stage of their functioning in the recipient language. Grammar adaptation involves adjusting of loanwords to the recipient language. Its course depends on morphological type of language and affinity. The research has revealed main patterns how English loanwords obtain the category of gender, which is absent in English. These patterns are based on both formal and semantic factors. Moreover, the author considers the ways of pluralia tantum nouns integration into the system of the recipient language. The analysis has shown that there is a typological difference between borrowing process on the one hand in Slavic languages and on the other hand in German, i.e. Slavic languages, unlike German, have obligatory derivational stage for verbs and adjective adaptation, which makes process of borrowing more complicated in Slavic languages.

The article deals with the image of a “foreign homeland” illustrated by the example of the poetic heritage of Rainer Rilke and Marina Tsvetaeva. The the concept of “homeland” is defined, and the features of the adaptation process in a new cultural and social environment are identified. The attitude of both poets to their homeland are studied via the analysis of their poetry. Rilke and Tsvetaeva were the representatives of different mentalities, who were not only interested in German and Russian cultures, respectively, but also considered themselves part of them. The authors of the article came to the conclusion that the understanding of the homeland is connected not only with its elevation, but also with the acceptance of all realities, both positive and negative, in the context of time, as well as the social, cultural and political situation. Rilke’s and Tsvetaeva’s perception of their “spiritual homeland” was one-sided and focused only on the positive perception, since the poets “poetized” Russia and Germany not paying attention to reality. Thus, it can be said that the poets failed to fully comprehend their contradictory “spiritual homelands”, which were in the very center of the social chaos and social upheavals of the early XX century.
