Human Activity Recognition (HAR) is one of the main research fields in pattern recognition. In recent years, machine learning and deep learning have played important roles in Artificial Intelligence (AI) fields, and are proven to be very successful in classification tasks of HAR. However, there are two drawbacks of the mainstream frameworks: 1) all inputs are processed with the same parameters, which would cause the framework to incorrectly assign an unrealistic label to the object; 2) these frameworks lack generality in different application scenarios. In this paper, an adaptive multi-state pipe framework based on Set Pair Analysis (SPA) is presented, where pipes are mainly divided into three kinds of types: main pipe, sub-pipe and fusion pipe. In the main pipe, the input of classification tasks is preprocessed by SPA to obtain the Membership Belief Matrix (MBM). The sub-pipe shunt processing is performed according to the membership belief. The results are merged through the fusion pipe in the end. To test the performance of the proposed framework, we attempt to find the best configuration set that yields the optimal performance and evaluate the effectiveness of the new approach on the popular benchmark dataset WISDM. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed framework can get the good performance by achieving a result of 1.4% test error.

In order to overcome the drawbacks that occur when traditional safety assessment methods do not consider the certain and uncertain characteristics of information and in order to enhance the calculation efficiency, a new Identical Discrepancy Contrary (IDC) system is safety comprehensive assessment model based on Set Pair Analysis is established. Incorporating the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to obtain the index weight, this model analyses the uncertainties in the degree of connection acquired by assessment, and then makes the identical discrepancy contrary system research on the certainty and uncertainty of information in the engineering system.

Usually the major airports have lots of air routes and scheduled flights. The intense competition turns passengers and cargoes of air transport to the major airports in a multi-airport system. It takes operating loss to many medium and small airports. From the view of airports, this paper analyzed the important factors of choosing destinations, and proposed a new indicator - air passenger traffic correlation. Finally, the optional destinations were collocated with the method of the Set Pair Analysis (SPA). Through the case analysis of Wuxi airport, the validity of method in this paper was verified. It provided the basis to choose destinations for medium and small airports.

As a new economical development mode, “low-carbon economic” is attracting more and more attention all over the world. In this paper, associating with the development background of the low-carbon industry, we applied the uncertainty set pair analysis (SPA) into the investment decision-making of the listed company, and established the investment decision model based on the uncertainty SPA. As a case, we made investment decision analysis to 12 typical low-carbon industrial listed companies selected. The results show that it is effective and applicable, and the research is helpful for the investors conducting decision-making.

Despite the rapid development of risk analysis in dam engineering, there is a relative absence of research on the environmental impact of dam break. As a systematic theory, set pair analysis has a good effect in dealing with uncertainties, although the result is relatively rough and easy to distort. A connection degree of five grades and a generalized set of potential are introduced to improve traditional set pair analysis. Combined with the index system, the evaluation model of the environmental impact of dam break is established, which is based on generalized set pair analysis. Taking Sheheji Reservoir dam as an example, a comparison of evaluation results of fuzzy mathematics theory and generalized set pair analysis is made, which verifies the scientificity and practicability of the method proposed in this paper. The results show that the evaluation grade of the environmental impact of dam break at Sheheji Reservoir is serious, and appropriate management measures should be taken to reduce the risk.
