Тhe article addresses the phenomenon of folkloric discourse in the light of philological research. There is a comparison and contrast of several approaches to the study of folkloric discourse and its components: fairy-tale discourse, ballads, songs, proverbs etc. In contemporary philological research there are various approaches to investigating discourse in general and folkloric discourse in particular: cognitive approach, critical analysis, contrastive analysis etc. The notion of folklore is sometimes utilized synonymously to the notion of folkloric discourse in reference to folkloric texts realized in the particular period of time. The present article attempts to draw a line of demarcation among these notions and define them as separate phenomena, though intricately connected to each other. This inquiry is based on the necessity of identifying the place of folkloric discourse in the system of linguistic and literary researches. The most common definitions of folklore and folkloric discourse are exemplified and their essence is analyzed. Commemoration in folkloric discourse is emphasized as one of the factors influencing the separation of this type of discourse in various research practices. Additionally, the main vectors of the influence of folkloric discourse are identified.

A series of 445 recurrences of skin cancers after surgical and radiological treatment is reported. The various factors influencing the incidence of such recurrences are reviewed, with special reference to gross features and primary tumor site. Eyelid- and nose cancers (including also sulcus - naso - genienus cancers) show a higher incidence of recurrence (respectiveliy 14.6% and 15.3%) than cancers of other regions (6.6%). Particular attention is given to the gross features of the primary neoplasm, because their evaluation is easier for skin cancers than for tumors of other regions. In tumor of less than 2 cm2 a 50% incidence is observed. The 117 cases of repeated recurrence are analyzed apart, because of the therapeutic problems. Histological features do not seem to influence the incidence of recurrence. Recovery was obtained in 179 of the 445 recurrences (40.2%). The possibility of recovery in a considerable number of recurrences (infrequent for malignant tumors of other regions) allowed a critical analysis of the treatment previously employed for primary tumors, based on the final result obtained by the new treatment. Long-term recurrences after treatment of the primary tumor showed a better prognosis.

Nigeria is known for recognizing and rewarding veritable achievements of her women in different endeavors. Despite their high demonstration of patriotism, the paper argues that attention given to women’s political rights is inadequate in Nigeria’s fourth democratic republic; resulting to low political participation and poor electoral outcome. This paper relies heavily on secondary sources of data collection and conduct of comparative analysis. It identifies factors influencing low political participation among, and concludes that if those low influencing factors are not effectively addressed, it could weaken their sense of national patriotism in the long run.
