The primary goal of this research is to examine and compare the overall quality of higher education institutions' results. In terms of research methodology, it falls under the category of descriptive comparative status studies. In the state of West Bengal, 218 colleges affiliated with seven universities were purposefully chosen as samples. The data is analysed using qualitative statistical methods such as percentages and graphical representations. It was discovered that 43.26 percent of colleges received a B score. It's also worth noting that 1.08 percent and 3.57 percent of colleges affiliated with Calcutta University and Vidyasagar University, respectively, have earned A++ and A+ accreditation. On the one hand, colleges affiliated with four universities (Burdwan University, North Bengal University, West Bengal State University, and Kalyani University) have received A, B++, B+, B to C grades, while colleges affiliated with two universities (Calcutta University and Vidyasagar University) have received A++, A+, A, B++, B+, B to C grades. As a result of the results, it is possible to infer that many colleges' success levels in terms of quality are not up to par.

According to the results of the survey, conclusions were made about the degree of effectiveness and further prospects for the introduction of new teaching methods in a pandemic. In order to identify achievements, possible difficulties and determine the main trends in the further development of distance technologies, the State Service for the Quality of Education of Ukraine conducted an anonymous survey of scientific and pedagogical workers and students of higher education institutions on the use of distance learning technologies in conditions of national quarantine. The survey was conducted from 23.04. to 05.05.2020. 28 391 respondents took part in the survey - 22367 students and 6024 scientific and pedagogical workers. Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) is the number of students enrolled in a given level of education, expressed as a percentage of the official age group of the population corresponding to the same level of education. In the state of West Bengal, GER in higher education for the age group 18 -23 years is 18.7%, which is far below the national average of 25.8% for 2017-2018. There is a large variation in GER across different districts and among male and female. An effort has been made through this paper to study the spatio temporal variation in GER among the districts of West Bengal. To study the gender disparity in GER in the districts of West Bengal Gender Parity Index (GPI) is calculated. Among the districts of West Bengal, Kolkata has recorded highest GER in higher education in all the years and Uttar Dinajpur has recorded the lowest GER throughout the years (2012 to 2018). GPI in gross enrolment in greater than unity in 14 out of 19 districts of the state.
