Biomass oxygen-steam gasification associated with synthesis technology known as indirect biomass liquefaction is regarded as one of the most promising technologies of biomass utilization. In this paper, a comprehensive gasification model was developed for the simulation of rice straw oxygen-steam gasification using ASPEN PLUS. The gasification process was divided into two parts: pyrolysis and gasification. The RYield module was used to simulate the pyrolysis process with an external FORTURN program to calculate the pyrolysis products while the gasification process was calculated by the RCSTR module. With the help of the model, the gasification of rice straw was simulated under different residence time, different temperature and different amount of steam. The results showed that the proper residence time and temperature is 1.5s and 1300°C, respectively. The optimum amount of steam is steam/biomass=0.12 while the addition of oxygen is oxygen/biomass=0.2.

Malaysian limestone modified with and additions of transition metal promoters (Ni, Fe, and Co) were used for gasification of biomass. The effects of selected metal oxide loading and the addition of sodium carbonate, Na2CO3 as additive and its influence on limestone catalytic activity during gasification for hydrogen conversion were investigated. The catalysts were synthesized through deposition-precipitation (DP) method and characterized by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET) surface area, thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Temperature programmed gasification (TPG) was conducted to investigated the gasification reaction of rice straw and the product gases were analysed using online mass spectrometer. The gasification process was carried out in partial oxygen (5% O2/Helium) environment heating from 50 to 900 °C with mass ratio biomass to catalyst of 2:1. From the results, Ni promoter was found to give the highest H2 conversion followed by Co and Fe. The calcined limestone had shown to act as a catalyst and CO2 sorbent thus enhancing the production of hydrogen. Moreover, additional of Na2CO3 during gasification process had shown a further increment of H2 production.

This research was conducted for the purpose to overcome Indonesia waste problem. The samples are classified into garden waste, paper waste, wood, food waste, and MSW with objective to identify which type of waste give out more syngas since there is waste separation in Indonesia. All samples were treated by plasma gasification without pre-treatment (drying). Arc plasma torch used in this experiment was made by National Nuclear Energy Agency (BATAN) and used Argon as the gas source. Then the torch was connected to self-designed gasification chamber and gas washing system before injected into a gas bas for composition analysis. Another objective is to identify factors that may affect the gasification efficiency and the experiment shows that moisture content is not really affecting the efficiency but the duration of the process. The mass reduction of each samples were recorded, then the gas produced from the gasification process were analyzed. The result shows that food has the highest mass percentage reduced and producing the highest amount of hydrogen amongst other samples. However, treating MSW also produce considerably high amount of hydrogen. In conclusion, MSW direct treatment (without separation) using plasma gasification is feasible since it still produces desirable quality of syngas.

The main purpose for the application of science and technology for livestock group of cow, is to form a group of skilled and professional livestock, as vaccinators, can take advantage of Azadirachta indica leaves a plant insecticide, apply a good cage sanitation, can produce organic fertilizer from feces of cow, can treat hay as feed to good nutritional value. The method used is education and training. Activity results obtained, that 10 percent of members of the group have managed to become vaccinators cadres, able to implement good sanitation stables, feces of cow (Stomoxys calsitrans) can process technology with EM4 into organic fertilizer and can process the rice straw with urea spraying method, to produce feed hay to the value of good nutrition for growing cattle.

This study was undertaken to find ways of reducing the time taken by goats tobegin to eat an edible feed that they have not previously encountered. Experiment 1demonstrated that the time taken for goats (7-8 months old) to ingest an unfamiliar feed(rice straw) was shorter (4 days) when it was first offered to them in the presence offamiliar positive cues (the odor or flavor of juices extracted from previously eaten, nutritionally beneficial grasses), than if it was offered in the absence of such cues (10 days). In contrast, when the feed was offered in the presence of the odor of parasitised goat feces, the time to first ingestion was extended to 20 days. Experiment 2 showed that when sixmonthold goats were exposed to feeds they had not experienced previously (rice straw orrice bran) they did not ingest these feeds in less than 7 days. However, they commencedingesting these feeds immediately if they had been exposed to them, prior to weaning, inthe presence of their mother or another adult goat. Application of the principles of feedingbehavior, as illustrated by the present studies, to goats in Vietnam may improve theirproduction, especially when diets are changed frequently and include both familiar andunfamiliar materials. Keywords: Behavior; Diet selection; Flavor; Neophobia; Social facilitation; Goat.

The activities conducted in Maros regency Tanralili district Purnakarya village in chickens and beef cattle groups Cedde Jaya. The main source of livestock feed cows during the dry season are dry forage, rice straw, corn straw and hay crops of nuts which happened to be planted at the time of drought. Besides, leaf  Gamal is also a main feed in dry  season. Number of cattle per family ownership only 2-3  head extensively maintained. Range chicken as well as extensive maintenance, ownership on average 2-5 chicken each household group.  To increase the productivity of cattle, the team provides counseling, coaching, training and mentoring as well as providing some main of facilities such as cattle shed, biogas digester, planting banana. Results are expected in the presence of  activities is the avaibility of green forage mainly during the dry season, so that the cattle population will increase, the biogas as a fuel  alternative to kerosin and LPG gas, liquid and solid fertilizer from biogas by-product process, the increasing population of chicken qualified (meat and eggs as well as the day old chick).  Besides the problem of production is also done on the farm management. The activities is expected that will increase the incomes of farmers further improve the welfare of Maros regency. For the sustainability of the program it is necessary supervision and guidance are routinely performed by the related department along with the college.
