After the 30’s of the 13th century and until the end of the Tarnovo Kingdom in the south-east sector of Trapezitsa a specific urban planning was taking shape. Over several ledges are built some of the most significant Metropolitan churches, such as church № 3, 4 and 14, as well as a large closed ensemble near church №3, related to an eminent representative of the ecclesiastical hierarchy – most likely the bishop of this second in significance Metropolitan fort. Immediately south of the episcopate is attached a large duplex building, with an imposing appearance – columns and an arch construction. From the east it ends with an apse. There are no traces of mural paintings on the plastered walls. Among the findings there is a vessel with an image of the Star of David. It is possible that this building had social and religious functions and was related to the Jewish people, who inhabited this fort during the 13th-14th centuries of Metropolitan Tarnovo. Keywords: Trapezitsa, Church, Episcopate, Complex, Jewish People

The seismic vulnerability and resulting damages to vaulted masonry is continuously observed with each new earthquake. The understanding of these systems is quite strong, and reinforcement strategies and techniques are continually advancing. Unfortunately, the application of reinforcement is typically applied in a way that the failure transforms directly from one of stability to strength. This direct transformation overlooks the potential behaviors of the system that exist between the two limits. To investigate and better understand the intermittent behavior of masonry arches, an in-scale dry joint masonry arch subjected to hinge control and a tilting plane loading condition was experimentally tested. The result of that experimentation revealed that the capacity can be increased and the failure defined, but the non-ideal conditions of slip and base deformations were observed as well. This work presents the second experimental campaign of a full-scale dry stack masonry arch subjected to hinge control and a tilting plane loading condition. In this campaign, the issue of slip is addressed in the arch construction, and the results show that the capacity of the full-scale arch can be increased and the failure defined.

With the constructing project of Shengli Bridge as the background, this paper presents the measured stress and deformation data of main arch rib during the process of full framing scheme. The measured data are compared with the computation results. And the mechanical behaviors of the arch bridge were studied to reveal the changing tendency of stress and displacement of the main arch construction completed to completion stage. The analysis results show that the stress and the displacement of the key structures are in a reasonable range and meet the design requirements during the process of the construction process.

Total rehabilitation is one of the most sophisticated kinds of dental implant-supported prosthetics. The usage of multiunit abutment system allows the clinician an accurate and passive fitting of screw-retained full-arch construction. In addition, it retains a condition of soft and bone tissues around prosthetic construction. The aim of this case is to demonstrate a modern approach in planning and realisation of full-mouth screw-retained dental implant prosthetics. A 59-year-old patient had an extraction of all failed teeth on upper and lower jaws with immediate 16 implant placement (8 implants on maxilla and 8 implants on mandible) using surgical template. Multiunit abutments were installed intraoperatively. Temporary constructions were fixed immediately after surgery. After 3 months of dental impressions, plaster models and their scan were prepared to make final screw-retained zirconium dioxide constructions. Reevaluation of functional and aesthetic result of the treatment was made after 12 months.

AbstractArchaeological excavations at the site of Xochicalco, Morelos, have explored several elements of public architecture important for clarifying aspects of urban organization and civic life during the Epiclassic period. Excavations confirm the presence of a ditch and terrace defensive system, strategic control of access leading into the site, and the presence of walled streets entering the site and extending throughout the city. The urban design also included systems for surface drainage that were linked to street networks. A section of the drainage system was constructed as a subterranean sewer using corbeled arch construction where it passed beneath a large platform mound. Analysis of the materials recovered from buildings throughout these excavations also provide the basis for identifying domestic activities and differentiating between residential and nonresidential structures.

The technology of cantilever casting construction was complex for reinforced concrete arch bridges. This paper described key technologies of construction and control of concrete arch cantilever casting construction. The article introduced on cast-in-place support, fastening tower, hanging basket and anchorage system in cantilever casting construction. Based on the results of arch ring stress and arch ring camber, the methods of construction control were established on arch ring alignment, arch ring stress, cable force and tower displacement during the arch construction. Ensure the structure safety and make the structure's internal force reasonable, the compressive stress of arch sections is less than 10MPa, tensile stress of arch sections is less than 1.5MPa in construction of concrete arch cantilever casting.
