Since the publication of the previous paper (Leeson, 1953), additional information has been accumulated on the geographical distribution of some of the Old World ticks of the genus Ornithodoros and two new species (zumpti and arenicolous) have been described. Much of this additional matter has been communicated to me by correspondents who have been kind enough to give permission for its publication here. Their names are enclosed in brackets after the new data to indicate the source and to these workers I tender my sincere thanks.

Six pteridophyte species of five families and 12 spermatophyte species of 10 families are reported from Bolaven Plateau, southern Laos, as new records to the flora of Laos. Moreover, two new species, Sterculia bolavenensis (Malvaceae) and Wikstroemia bolavenensis (Thymelaeaceae), are described. For each species, voucher specimens are cited, photographs are shown and additional information including geographical distribution, ecology and taxonomic notes are provided.

An overview of the Oriental species of the nominate subgenus of Camptopteroides Viggiani (Hymenoptera: Mymaridae) is given. Two new species, C. (Camptopteroides) formosa Manickavasagam & Sankararaman sp. n. from India and C. (Camptopteroides) reducta Triapitsyn sp. n. from Thailand and Malaysia, are described, and C. formosa additionally compared to two unnamed species. The holotype male of the type species of this genus, C. armata Viggiani from Sri Lanka, is diagnosed and illustrated. A key to Old World species of Camptopteroides is provided.

AbstractNew information concerning Palaearctic species of Spalangiopelta is provided. Two new species are described and illustrated: S. alboaculeatasp. nov. (type locality: England, Cambridgeshire, Santon Downham) and S. hikosp. nov. (type locality: Japan, Kyushu, Mt. Hiko). Additional information and illustrations are provided for S. procera; the male is described and illustrated for the first time, and notes and photomicrographs of the forewing and antenna are used to augment the previous descriptions of the female. The male of S. dudichi is also described and illustrated for the first time. Notes are provided to accommodate these new species and males in the key to world species of Spalangiopelta (Darling 1991) and the phylogenetic and biogeographic implications are discussed.

A New Species

A reappraisal is presented of the taxonomy of three of the four alternate-leaved species of Chrysosplenium occurring in North America, namely C. tetrandrum, C. iowense, and C. Rosendahlii, the latter a new species described for the first time. The investigation demonstrates that the species can be readily separated morphologically even as seedlings. Each morphological entity is characterized by a different chromosome number, C. tetrandrum 2n = 24, C. Rosendahlii 2n = 96. C. iowense 2n = c.120, and a distinctive geographical distribution. C. iowense, which has on occasions been regarded as identical with C. alternifolium var. sibiricum, is retained as a species in the absence of a modern taxonomic analysis of the Old World species C. alternifolium.

The World

The Braconinae is a generically diverse subfamily of Braconidae. The Old World genus Testudobracon Quicke is reviewed and four new species viz., T. athashi Ranjith sp. nov., T. malabaricus Sheeba sp. nov., T. shameeri Ranjith sp. nov. and T. travencorensis Sheeba sp. nov., are described from south India. A check list and key to the world species are provided.

Two New Species

Two new species, Prolixus nicholasi sp. nov. and Prolixus setifolius sp. nov., are described and illustrated from leaves of Gahnia setifolia (Cyperaceae) in Auckland, New Zealand. In this paper, we present the ontogenetic additions in idiosomal and the leg chaetotaxy from larva to adult. The adult male and female of P. setifolius have different leg setae, allowing all active life stages to be sexed. A key to world species of Prolixus is also proposed.

Two New Species

The Neotropical genus Himantigera James in James & McFadden, 1982, is revised. Two new species are described and illustrated—H. amauroptera nov. sp. (Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia), and H. xanthopoda nov. sp. (Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica). Three species are transferred from Himantigera to Sargus Fabricius, 1798—S. dichrous (Schiner, 1868) comb. nov., S. flavoniger Lindner, 1928 comb. rev. and S. fulvithorax (Bigot, 1879) comb. nov. One species is transferred to Microchrysa Loew, 1855—M. splendens (Schiner, 1868) comb. nov. Himantigera jamesi Lindner, 1969 syn. nov. is proposed as a junior synonym of H. superba Lindner, 1949. The type species H. silvestris McFadden, 1982, as well as H. nigrifemorata Macquart, 1847 and H. superba Lindner, are herein redescribed and illustrated. Photographs of the type specimens of these three species are provided. Two unnamed species of Himantigera (sp. A and sp. B) are also described given that they have slight differences, but because we had only one specimen of each species, we did not officially describe them. This updates the total number of extant Himantigera from eight sensu Woodley (2001) to seven species. The species Merosargus apicalis Lindner, 1935, although never referred to the genus Himantigera or Himantoloba McFadden 1970, is also transferred to the genus Sargus. A key to all species of Himantigera and a map expanding geographical distribution of the genus are also presented, with the first records of the genus for Nicaragua, Colombia, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Ecuador and Bolivia.

A new variety of Agalmyla tuberculala Hook. f. is described; it extends the range of the species from Mt Kinabalu, Sabah, to Mt Murud, N Sarawak. Five new species and four new varieties of Cyrtandra are described from Mt Kinabalu; there are also two new species of Cyrtandra from Sarawak.

The subfamily Ticoplinae is Afrotropical, Oriental and Palaearctic in distribution with six species in two genera (Eosmicromyrmilla Lelej & Krombein, 2001 and Hindustanilla Lelej in Lelej & Krombein, 2001) known from the Oriental Region. Two new species, E. subbuka sp. nov., and E. balakrishnani sp. nov. were recently discovered in India (Western Ghats). Keys to the Old World genera of tribe Smicromyrmillini and species of Eosmicromyrmilla are provided. An updated diagnosis for males of Eosmicromyrmilla and photos of male genitalia for the genus are given. A new combination is proposed for E. margalla (Lelej & Ullah, 2007), comb. nov. The genus Eosmicromyrmilla is newly recorded from the fauna of Pakistan instead of the genus Smicromyrmilla Suárez, 1965, which is excluded from that fauna.
