A spatial reference and identification system for coastal ice-free land in East Antarctica

Abstract We describe a spatial reference system that uniquely identifies 4884 coastal island and continental rock features across East Antarctica. The system comprises a series of maps and a related database, and can be a foundation tool for a wide range of environmental studies.

Abstract. The state Coordinate Reference System (CRS) of the Republic of North Macedonia (RNM) has been established a century ago, by the Military Geographic Institute of the Yugoslavia Kingdom. It is in official usage entire period up to day. In international public EPSG registry of geodetic datums, spatial reference systems, Earth ellipsoids, coordinate transformations and related units of measurement, CRS for RNM is recognizable within 3 EPSG codes 6204, 6316 and 8679.First code EPSG 6204 represents current state CRS for the entire country area, based on current law, however unfortunately this CRS is official by the law but it is not used for developing the official spatial data published in geoportals of Agency for Real Estate Cadastre (AREC) and NSDI geoportal of RNM. The second code EPSG 6316 is defined to be used for 6 countries of former Yugoslavia that covers area between 19.5°E up to 22.5°E longitude, which does not correspond with the practical and official usage of CRS for working with spatial data in RNM and CRS law definition in RNM. Third code EPSG 8679 has never been used in RNM, which covers eastern part of RNM and Serbia beginning from 22.5°E.Beside of problems with EPSG codes, default transformation parameters of EPSG 6316 have low accuracy and can not be used for data overlapping with open layers. Therefore, redefined new EPSG codes for state CRS of RNM are proposed in this paper.

Geoprocessing operations offered via web services provide the means for building complex web-based geospatial applications. Often, certain postconditions such as the spatial reference system, bounding box, schema or quality that hold on the output dataset after the execution of a geoprocessing service are determined and derived from the properties of the inputs passed to the service. Further, geoprocesses often hold preconditions that relate to more than one input, such as the requirement that all inputs must have the same schema. Within current process descriptions for geoprocessing operations, such conditions which we call cross-parameter conditions, can not be explicitly specified. In this paper, the author gives an approach to formalize such cross input-output and cross input parameter conditions in a rule-based language. Further, the author proposes an algorithm for deriving pre- and postconditions for a service composition or workflow out of the pre- and postconditions of the services involved, allowing a more automated handling of workflows in general.

AbstractThe effect of logistics has increased steadily in recent years. In regard to the concept of logistics, it is not only referred to as transportation of goods from place A to place B, as many people believe. Logistics covers a wide range of enterprise (supply chain) processes. It is a whole value-creation chain including not only material flows, but also energy, human resources and valuable information. The objective of this research study is to find issues and risks in the current state of supply, inventory management and warehousing process in the given enterprise. In the study, proposals to streamline the current state in terms of inventory management identification system in particular manufacturing enterprise, which is the primary purpose of the submitted paper, are outlined. The specific result is to develop the proposal to increase efficiency and reduce risk regarding the current situation of inventory management identification system applying suitable techniques of the multi-criteria analysis, in particular by the TOPSIS method and by the WSA method.

AbstractFlow cytometry (FCM) is routinely used in medical and veterinary diagnostics although it is also widely applied in environmental studies, including phytoplankton investigations. Cyanobacteria are wide-spread photosynthetic microorganisms that attract attention due to their ecology and potential toxicity. Therefore, novel research tools are being applied in their investigation. This paper characterizes FCM as a technique that enables photopigments (chlorophylls and phycocyanin) expressed by cyanobacteria to be excited and their emission to be subsequently detected. This feature not only allows cells to be counted in a rapid manner but also enables a wide range of potential applications in ecological and biochemical studies. The main advantages of FCM, such as rapid, automatic and precise measurements requiring small sample volumes, are also discussed in this paper along with challenges including analyses of filamentous cyanobacteria and signal overlapping. It is expected that FCM will continue to be used in some fields of cyanobacterial studies.

ABSTRACT Listeria monocytogenes causes major food-borne outbreaks of disease worldwide. Specific identification of this microorganism is of utmost importance to public health and industry. Listeria species are known to secrete a 60-kDa protein collectively termed p60, which is encoded by the iap (invasion-associated protein) gene and secreted in large quantities into the growth media. p60 is a highly immunogenic murein hydrolase that is essential for cell division. Due to these properties, p60 is an ideal diagnostic target for the development of immunological detection systems for L. monocytogenes. We report here two independent lines of monoclonal antibody (MAb): p6007, which specifically recognizes L. monocytogenes p60, and p6017, which reacts with a wide range of Listeria p60 proteins. By combining these antibodies with a polyclonal antibody, we developed efficient sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) systems which can specifically identify L. monocytogenes or generally detect Listeria species. Since an excess amount of the peptide corresponding to PepA or PepD did not interfere with the ELISA, and direct ELISAs were unable to detect both peptides, we concluded that the epitope presumed to be recognized by p6007 or p6017 could be distinguished from PepA and PepD as described by Bubert et al. (Appl. Environ. Microbiol. 60:3120-3127, 1997). To our best knowledge, this is the first example of an immunological identification system that uses p60-recognizing MAbs.

At present the astrometry possesses the new perspective measuring method namely very long baseline interferometry (VLBl).Possibility of establishing inertial (unrotating) radio source coordinate system (IRCS) is one of VLBI technique advantages. This system may be useful as a reference system for studying of a wide range of geodynamic, ce -lestial mechanic, geophysic, navigational and other applied astrometry problems.
