AbstractOn 2 April 2013 a major flood struck the City of La Plata, Argentina, killing 89 people and displacing thousands of others. That event, the worst flood the city has suffered in the past 100 years, prompted plans for a new hydraulic infrastructure. Although such an investment is necessary, little is known about its benefits. This paper intends to shed some light on this issue by estimating the willingness to pay to avoid the risk of experiencing a flooding event. For this purpose, we have taken thousands of real estate prices in the La Plata Metropolitan Area and combined them with a high-resolution flood risks map to estimate spatial hedonic price models. The results show significant price discounting for properties in flood-prone areas.

Returning to some results, here we will analyze the itineraries of a group of musicians who are members of the circuit, focusing on their trajectories, the journeys they make in the urban space and the logics that organize their gait. We hypothesize that it’s the trajectories of the actors that modulate the paths they make, as well as those spatial paths that have a performative character about their biographies. The methodological strategy will be qualitative, using various data production tools, where the shadow (Jirón, 2012) stands out as a technique.Likewise, this article also provides a reflection on methodological tools to study artistic practices in the city and their reciprocity: the way the city conditions practices, the ways in which these practices produce city. Keywords: Circuit. The city of Cordoba (Spain) stands out due to the fact that it has different inscriptions both in the List of World Heritage Sites and the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage (LICH) of UNESCO. In 2012 the Fiesta of the Patios was inscribed on the LICH. Currently, this event held during two weeks in May involves visits by the public to traditional dwellings. This event is becoming a magnet for tourists from outside the city and has established itself as a further tourist attraction, with the risk that it may lose part of its authenticity. This paper aims to use the hedonic price methodology to examine the externalities deriving from the “Fiesta” in order to verify whether the possible benefits/disadvantages of its existence are capitalised in real estate prices and quantify these effects. The results indicate that the “Fiesta” constitutes an added value for housing properties.

This paper explores the relationships between accessibility, income segregation, and house prices in the Greater Sydney Area. Sydney is found to have reasonably even employment accessibility, reflecting the increasingly polycentric nature of the modern city; however, it also shows considerable income segregation and variance in property prices between different parts of the city. Entropy is used to examine the diversity and mixing of different income groups. Finally, hedonic price models using ordinary least square and geographically-weighted regression techniques to show the differing effects of employment accessibility on house prices in different parts of the city. The results show that accessibility has small to negative effects on prices in the most valuable areas, suggesting that other effects such as recreational access and employment type/quality may be important to investigate further in this context.

Purpose This paper aims to analyse the price gradient of apartments in the city of Bratislava with different measurements of travel time and distance to the city centre. Design/methodology/approach The price gradient is analysed by means of a hedonic price model. To overcome the problem with spatial autocorrelation in the data, the authors apply a spatial error model. Findings The paper provides empirical insights into the size of the price gradient in the city of Bratislava. In addition, it suggests that even in the case of a city with complicated urban structure, Euclidean distance is the best proxy for distance to the city centre and it is not necessary to use a more demanding distance calculation in hedonic price models. Originality/value Price gradients are usually analysed in western European or American cities whose urban structure differ from the cities in central and eastern Europe. This paper is the first in which the price gradient is estimated with different measurements of time and distance to the city centre using a spatial econometric model.

Bothriurus bonariensis syntypes were described by C.L. Koch in 1843 who mentioned "La Plata" as the collection site, but this city did not exist until 1882, suggesting that he was referring to the Río de La Plata area. An error is also pointed out in relation to publications and web pages which mention 1842 and not 1843 as the year of publication.

On the one hand, we will develop a catalog of judicial cases between 1612 and 1680, that is, a descriptive instrument that can be used by other historians and users of the archive. In this way, we get an approximation to discourses and experiences through judicial cases.
