In theCritique of Fure ReasonKant distinguishes two sorts of conditions of knowledge. First, there are the space and time of pure intuition, introduced in the Transcendental Aesthetic. They are grounded in our dependence on a special sort of perceptual (or imaginative) field for the location of objects. Second, there are pure concepts of the understanding, or categories, introduced in the Analytic. In one respect these are grounded in the logical function of the understanding in judgements, introduced in the first chapter of the analytic of concepts: Clue to the Discovery of All Pure Concepts of the Understanding; in another respect, they are grounded in transcendental unity of apperception, which is introduced in the second chapter: Deduction of the Pure Concepts of the Understanding, or Transcendental Deduction. I shall be concerned with the latter and its contribution to the overall strategy of argument in the analytic. Within the Analytic, Kant distinguishes between an Analytic of Concepts and an Analytic of Principles (also called ‘transcendental doctrine of judgement’ [A137/B176]). This corresponds to a traditional distinction between a doctrine of concepts (or understanding) and judgement. It is arguable that Kant's theory of concepts undermines this distinction. However, I shall not deal with that general issue, but with a more specific issue related to the first two chapters of the Analytic of Principles: the Schematism and the System of Principles. (The third chapter, on phenomena and noumena, is basically an appendix.)

AbstractRecent publications (Henrich, Seeberg) claim that Kant has been profoundly influenced by contemporary publications on juridical deductions. I try to show, that this cannot be right. The introductory note of the “Transcendental Deduction” (Critique of Pure Reason A 84) poses two questions: “quid facti?” and “quid juris?”. The first is answered by the demonstration of the possibility of relations between pure concepts and pure intuition und sensations, the second by the implicit refutation of David Hume. Kant and his interpreters sustain the possibility of using juridical concepts, that are neither related to real juridical facts nor are only metaphers, but have a special philosophical signification. But what should that be?

Regarding the implementation of art education in schools, it is seen that art performance education is put in the third position after visual arts and literature. Among other forms of art performance, drama’s position is under music and dance. Drama is a performance delineating human life, which is acted on stage in front of public. The story generally has conflicts, performed through movements, actions and dialogs. Drama needs introducing to children. The attempts to introduce drama to children should be done as early as possible since the early ages have appropriate space and time, which are strategic to implant basic values in children. Related to this, there are at least two things to be put into consideration. The first is related to literature and the second to art performance. The former covers the determination of theme, synopsis, characters and characterization, plot, dramatic conflict, setting and language use. This chapter shows how central it is, for Kant, that the concept of God only comes downstream from, and after, the possibility of belief in the ‘moral world’. This moral world is the realm of freedom, wherein autonomy is possible. Only if (deterministic) space and time do not go ‘all the way down’, are freedom, and autonomy, possible. If space and time are ‘things-in-themselves’, Kant asserts, ‘then freedom cannot be saved’ (A536/B564). Only if there is a dimension of reality beyond mechanism, is end-setting, and so autonomy, and the highest good possible. Not even God could achieve the highest good in a universe without end-setting, and without freedom, because this universe would be a sort of ‘desert’ with no ‘inner value’. The sequence of thought we find, both in the second Critique, and in other texts is this: first of all, Kant identifies a need for happiness in proportion to virtue; then Kant identifies the obstacle to the realization of such happiness, which is the mechanistic and deterministic structure of nature; and then Kant moves to the solution, which involves leaning into the realm of freedom, which realm includes God. The significance of the third phase in the progression of thought (the realm of freedom) has not been sufficiently considered, it is argued, when considering the Kant’s ‘moral proof’, and the relationship, for Kant, between morality, the highest good, and God.

Abstract Kant in his critical metaphysics, as one might call his transcendental philosophy, proceeds from the syncategorematic, subject-sided forms of thinking, which are revealed by general logic qua doctrine of the inferences of reason (i. e. syllogistics), and assigns to them one-to-one categorematic, object-sided forms of thinking: the categories qua pure, non-empirical predicates of things. Kant then shows in his transcendental deduction that the categories are objectively, – i. e. without our invasive intervention – valid of all things in space-time. In the present essay, philosophy is understood not so much as critical metaphysics in a narrow sense of “metaphysics”, but rather as the a priori hermeneutic science; and the transcendental deduction of the categories is replaced by arguments for (1) a readability thesis and (2) a theory of the a priori presuppositions of referencing things in space and time. The readability thesis states that things can be read (1) as world-sided primal tokens (ur-tokens) of proper names of themselves and also (2) as world-sided primal tokens (ur-tokens) of elementary propositions about them. The theory of the a priori presuppositions clarifies the conditions of the possibility of subjects orienting themselves in space and time and being able to refer, first, to themselves qua embodied thinkers and then as well to arbitrary individual items.

Abstract<title> SUMMARY </title>The foundamental problems related to the physical structure of space and time are today motivated by problems that arise from other scientific theories, for instance: relativistic theories, quantum electrodynamics, elementary particles.One of principal purposes of this historical-critical paper is to examine a typical problem related to the structure of time i.e. its continuity. This problem arises from all attempts to discretize space and time through the introduction of a new universal constant besides h and c.The three sections of this paper reflect the different problems considerated: in the first are ana.yzed same attempts, arisen in the quantum fields theory between 1940 and 1960, directed to the introduction of a universal constant with the dimension of a lenght. In the second, the historical dynamics of problems that conducted to the introduction of a universal constant with the dimension of a time is examinated. In the third, finally, the most important epistemological implications of this problems are considerated.

AbstractOn one reading of Kant’s account of our original representations of space and time, they are, in part, products of the understanding or imagination. On another, they are brute, sensible givens, entirely independent of the understanding. In this article, while I agree with the latter interpretation, I argue for a version of it that does more justice to the insights of the former than others currently available. I claim that Kant’s Transcendental Deduction turns on the representations of space and time as determinate, enduring particulars, whose unity is both given and a product of synthesis.

The concept of space time had been the subject of debate for so long, here another version will be discussed in the form of space and time fields where a new concept of energy constraining can explain the interactions between those fields. This model comes in three parts : energy constraining , where the evolution of the quanton and its different transitions are discussed, the second part , energy fields, their degrees of freedom and the third part electromagnetic waves as relativistic quantons and the generic form of Maxwell equations in terms of space and time fields. This work shows that the origin many of the physical phenomena can be traced back to the quanton based world .

A censor history is one of the most important issues in the textual study of Kulish’s novel “The Black Council”. However, this problem has never been considered before by the Ukrainian scholars, and even more general issue, i.e. “Kulish and the Censorship”, was not involved much into the field of research. This paper gives an introduction to this topic shedding some light on the censor history of “The Black Council”.Relations between Kulish and the tsarist censorship in different times were ambiguous which was caused by several reasons. The first one was individual approach of the censors to his works which might be connected, in particular, with the trial of Saints Cyril and Methodius Brotherhood (1847). Other reason was general persecution of the Ukrainian literature, especially after the Ems Ukase (1876). In order to circumvent censorship Kulish published his works also abroad. Before Kulish was arrested he wrote his works without paying particular attention to the censorship. The first writer’s concerns about possible restrictions that might be imposed on his works by the censorship arose with the novel “The Black Council”. Kulish’s arrest radically changed circumstances of his life and creative activity. Until 1856 he had to submit his works to prior censorship consideration and used pseudonym Nikolai M. (the name of his friend Nikolai Makarov) to avoid these restrictions. The Third Department of His Imperial Majesty’s Personal Chancellery allowed Kulish to publish his works on the base of the general censor regulations only in April 1856. In a short time Kulish sent the manuscript of “The Black Council” to the censorship committee.

Abstract In this paper, I provide an interpretation of the symploke ton eidon at Soph. 259e. My goal is to show that the specific metaphysical view expressed by the interweaving of forms best accounts for Plato’s explanation of truth and falsehood. In the first section, I introduce the fundamentals of the interpretation of the greatest kinds and their functions. After that, I propose an interpretation of the assertion at 259e, the upshot of which is that the interweaving of forms only deals with extra-linguistic items, that it is related to both truth and meaning of linguistic items, in a very complex way which I aim to explain throughout the paper, and that it never involves sensible particulars. In the second section, I put forward my reading of the Stranger’s description of how logoi are structured and how they work. I pay particular attention to the view that words reveal being when they intertwine to form a statement. In the third section, I interpret the statements concerning Theaetetus. My goal is to advance a new reading of the specific role that kinds and their interweaving play with regard to the truth and falsehood of the statements concerning Theaetetus. The result is the very specific view that the kinds, which are the separated ontological cause of what happens in space and time, are the grounds of both the truth and the meaning of statements.
