Aim. EMBRACETMis an innovative, low cost infant warmer for use in neonates. It contains phase change material, which stays at constant temperature for 6 hours. We surveyed paediatricians using EMBRACETMregarding benefits, risks, and setup in which it was used in Gujarat.Methods. Questionnaire was administered telephonically to 52 out of 53 paediatricians.Results. EMBRACETMwas used for an average of 8.27 (range of 3–18, SD = 3.84) months by paediatricians. All used it for thermoregulation during transfers, for average (SD) duration of 42 (0.64) m per transfer, 62.7% used it at mother’s side for average (SD) 11.06 (7.89) h per day, and 3.9% prescribed it at home. It was used in low birth weight neonates only by 56.9% while 43.1% used it for all neonates. While hyperthermia was not reported, 5.9% felt that EMBRACETMdid not prevent hypothermia. About 54.9% felt that they could not monitor the newborn during EMBRACETMuse. Of paediatricians who practiced kangaroo mother care (KMC), 7.7% have limited/stopped/decreased the practice of KMC and substituted it with EMBRACETM.Conclusions. EMBRACETMwas acceptable to most but concerns related to monitoring neonates and disinfection remained. Most paediatricians felt that it did not hamper KMC practice.

A modification of Lerke enzymic method for histamine determination has been realized. We have observed a modification of the optimum wavelength depending on incubation time at constant temperature of 37°C. A wavelength of 580 nm is recommended, with a incubation time of 15 min. At these conditions the linearity was observed among 1 and 25 ppm (μg/g) of histamine. This technique is a reliable method of screening in food samples and bacterial strains, with low sample preparations requirements, a short incubation time and a low cost.

In this work, few-layer graphene materials were produced from Fe-lignin nanocomposites through a molecular cracking and welding (MCW) method. MCW process is a low-cost, scalable technique to fabricate few-layer graphene materials. It involves preparing metal (M)-lignin nanocomposites from kraft lignin and a transition metal catalyst, pretreating the M-lignin composites, and forming of the graphene-encapsulated metal structures by catalytic graphitization the M-lignin composites. Then, these graphene-encapsulated metal structures are opened by the molecule cracking reagents. The graphene shells are peeled off the metal core and simultaneously welded and reconstructed to graphene materials under a selected welding reagent. The critical parameters, including heating temperature, heating time, and particle sizes of the Fe-lignin composites, have been explored to understand the graphene formation mechanism and to obtain the optimized process parameters to improve the yield and selectivity of graphene materials.

Background: With the rapid development of the domestic independent heating system, the wall-hanging boiler has become the focus of concern for a large number of users. As an independent heat source, it has been widely applied in many places. Objective: Based on many deficiencies emerging from the wall-hanging gas boiler used at present, a novel electrothermal wall-hanging boiler is presented in this paper to realize the family central heating and provide constant temperature water supply system in the meantime. Method: 3D solid model of the wall-hanging boiler was firstly designed by using the software Solidworks, and then, based on ARM intelligent microcontroller, the circuit board production was completed with the corresponding control circuit design to conduct the automatic temperature regulation of the wall-hanging boiler, so as to achieve the desired effect of the constant temperature heating and energy conservation. Results: On the basis of the experiments and the test of sample, the trial operation of the prototype can meet the expected requirements. The greatest innovation of the product is to use a new type of nano semiconductor material and a sort of hydrocyclone mode to enhance the heat exchange in a more full and uniform way, as well as improve the thermal efficiency greatly. Conclusion: Such patent provides an effective theoretical and experimental basis for the diagnosis and fixing of the electrothermal wall-hanging boiler. With the help of the prototyping fabrication and debugging installation, it can be shown that the novel electrothermal wall-hanging boiler will have a very broad application prospect.
