AbstractStudies using zebrafish (Danio rerio) in neuro-behavioural research are growing. Measuring fish behavior by computational methods is one of the most efficient ways to avoid human bias in experimental analyses, extending them to various approaches. Sometimes, thorough analyses are difficult to do, as fish can behave unpredictably during an experimental strategy. However, the analyses can be implemented in an automated way, using an online strategy and video processing for a complete assessment of the zebrafish behavior, based on the detection and tracking of fish during an activity. Here, a fully automatic conditioning and detailed analysis of zebrafish behavior is presented. Microcontrolled components were used to control the delivery of visual and sound stimuli, in addition to the concise amounts of food after conditioned stimuli for adult zebrafish groups in a conventional tank. The images were captured and processed for automatic detection of the fish, and the training of the fish was done in two evaluation strategies: simple and complex. In simple conditioning, the zebrafish showed significant responses from the second attempt, learning that the conditioned stimulus was a predictor of food presentation in a specific space of the tank, where the food was dumped. When the fish were subjected to two stimuli for decision-making in the food reward, the zebrafish obtained better responses to red light stimuli in relation to vibration. The behavior change was clear in stimulated fish in relation to the control group, thus, the distances traveled and the speed were greater, while the polarization was lower in stimulated fish. This automated system allows for the conditioning and assessment of zebrafish behavior online, with greater stability in experiments, and in the analysis of the behavior of individual fish or fish schools, including learning and memory studies.

The field monitoring of dangerous landslide is an important measure for guaranteeing its safety, especially when surrounded by large-scale construction. The landslide located nearby a reservoir in Shandong province. To guarantee construction safety, we adopted the automatic monitoring method for monitoring surface displacement and the internal soil pressure. The whole system uses solar power to provide energy and uses GPRS to transfer data. This system not only can provide reliable information for project construction, but also promote the application of environmentally friendly, low carbon in the monitoring field of civil engineering.

Spectral analysis is a very common tool in vibration monitoring. While useful in machine diagnostics, spectral analysis can be rather time consuming. Tasks that require an extensive amount of time are often considered too expensive, especially in modern industry. To achieve an automatic monitoring system of some kind, different features, such as the root mean square (RMS) or the peak value of signals, are often monitored. These are special cases of generalised norms, which can be effective tools to determine whether a signal has shown some kind of change and how notable the change is when compared to a previously measured signal, for example. However, no spectral information is obtained in this way and the question regarding the frequency in the signal at which the change has occurred remains unanswered. Generalised spectral norms are a frequency-domain application of these norms and, as presented in this paper, provide a suitable way to perform automatic monitoring regarding the spectral information, for example.

The truck scale is more and more applied on the weighing system. To seek illegal profits, many kinds of truck scale cheating method is found in the weighing system. To monitoring the truck scale cheating method, the truck scale cheating automatic monitoring system based on the GPRS is brought out in this paper. The truck scale cheating automatic monitoring system is designed. The monitoring system includes three parts: the monitoring terminal, the GPRS transmission module and the upper monitoring system. The truck scale measurement data of the sensors are collected by the monitoring terminal and sent to the upper monitoring system through the GPRS module. The experimental system is established on the pneumatic conveying system and the experiment is carried out. The experimental results show that the automatic monitoring system can on-line monitor the truck scale cheating method and improves the security of the truck scale weighing system.
