Under different conditions, combustion characteristics of the single biomass, the single coal and the mixture of biomass and coal were analyzed by using thermogravimetric analyzer. Combustion characteristic parameters of the sawdust, the rice husk, the rice straw and the Baisha coal of Leiyang were studied, including ignition temperature, the maximum rate of combustion temperature, the burnout temperature and so on. The experimental results show that the biomass burning temperature is lower than the Baisha coal and there are two obvious weight loss phases in the combustion process of the biomass. However, there is only one in the coal. The ignition temperature and time of the coal can be reduced ,the temperature range of the entire combustion can be extended, the coal can be burnout more well and the fuel combustion characteristic can be optimized by blending combustion. With the increase of biomass mixing proportion, the ignition temperature of mixing samples was decreased more obviously. Moreover, when the biomass particle size becomes R200,compared with R90 particle size under the same blending ratio, its ignition temperature is more lower.

A sample of Sitka Spruce litter has been examined in a microcalo rimeter at temperatures up to 58°C, and kinetic parameters deduced from the re sults in a way which is explained step by step. The kinetic parameters were then used to predict the ignition temperature of the material in a field situation. Input to this calculation includes measured heat-release rate at incipient ignition of a different litter, reported independently.

Abstract The objective of this study was to investigate combustion characteristics of biomass (willow, Salix viminalis) burnt in air and O2/CO2 mixtures in a circulating fluidized bed (CFB). Air and oxy-combustion characteristics of wooden biomass in CFB were supplemented by the thermogravimetric and differential thermal analyses (TGA/DTA). The results of conducted CFB and TGA tests show that the composition of the oxidizing atmosphere strongly influences the combustion process of biomass fuels. Replacing N2 in the combustion environment by CO2 caused slight delay (higher ignition temperature and lower maximum mass loss rate) in the combustion of wooden biomass. The combustion process in O2/CO2 mixtures at 30% and 40% O2 is faster and shorter than that at lower O2 concentrations.

Abstract.Based on TG-DTG-DTA, combustion characteristics and kinetic parameters of impure coal in the 10 °C / min heating rate were studied. The results showed that with the increase in the proportion of impurities, ignition temperature, burned temperature significantly improved; combustion characteristics of index clearly decreased; combustion process can be described by a diffusion kinetic equation

In the article was described combustible properties of tobacco product dust. Those properties decide about fire and explosion hazard for dust in layer and in cloud according to PN-EN 50281-2-1:2002 and PN-EN ISO/IEC 80079-20-2. There were determined protection against fire and explosion requirements of buildings structural elements and appliances used in space where dust accumulates. The article also consists safety requirements of using appliances in explosion hazard areas according to PN-EN 60079-14:2014. In the article are presented results of minimal ignition temperature of layer (MITL) and minimal ignition temperature of cloud dust (MTCD) as a function of dust layer thickness of chosen tobacco product and values of maximum acceptable surface temperature (MAST) of machines operating in the presence of dust cloud and chosen dust layer with thickness of 5 and 12.5mm.

The work investigated the thermal behavior of Borodino coal, brown coal coke and mixed fuel, consisting of 80 % Borodino brown coal and 20 % brown coal coke during the combustion process using thermogravimetric analysis. The chemical composition of the samples is presented. When analyzing the TG-DTG curves, combustion characteristics were determined, such as: ignition temperature (Ti) and coke burnout temperature (Te), flammability index, integral combustion parameter. To determine Ti and Te, the technique of crossing the TG and DTG curves was applied and justified. An electron microscopic study of the cross-section of a lignite coke particle has been carried out. The results of the study showed that the addition of lignite coke to brown coal has a positive effect on its combustion characteristics

The simultaneous TG-DSC version of SENSYS EVO CALORIMETER is applied to the combustion characteristics test of coal, and obtains the TG - Heat Flow curve of meager lean coal, anthracite and blended coal of 75% meager lean coal and 25% anthracite, in the lower scanning rate .the curve and data analysis show that, compared with meager lean coal and anthracite, the blended coal has the lower ignition temperature, the higher weight loss ratio and heat flow. This means that blended coal with this components is more easily ignited, burning more sufficiently. In addition, although the proportion of mixed meager lean coal accounting for 3/4, but the combustion characteristics of blended coal relatively more close to anthracite’s.
