The development of artificial intelligence has the potential to transform lives and work practices, raise efficiency, savings and safety levels, and provide enhanced levels of services. However, the current trend towards developing smart and autonomous machines with the capacity to be trained and make decisions independently holds not only economic advantages, but also a variety of concerns regarding their direct and indirect effects on society as a whole. This article examines some of these concerns, specifically in the areas of privacy and autonomy, state surveillance, and bias and algorithmic transparency. It concludes with an analysis of the challenges that the legal system faces in regulating the burgeoning field of artificial intelligence.

Purpose Industry 4.0 is a term for the so-called Fourth Industrial revolutions. It is the technological integration of cyber-physical systems (CPS) in the process of production. CPS enables internet-based process networking with all participants in the process of value creation. The industrial revolution is actually changing how we live, work and communicate. Many trades have highly been affected by 4IR, libraries are one of them. The libraries of twenty-first century are shifting their paradigms from traditional setup to modern information networking. As people and machines are connecting to each other at enormous speed, artificial intelligence, mobile computing, machine learning and automation of every trade have become a need of the day. Automation and artificial intelligence are change agents in 4IR that will make certain groups of employees redundant, replacing them with new workers with the needed skills or with machines that do the job cheaper. This paper aims to shed light on how the 4IR will “shape the future of education, gender, work and library services”. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the challenges being faced by the library and librarians in the age of Industrial 4.0 revolution in contemporary society. The purpose of this study is to review the past literature on Industrial Revolutions 4.0 in education and interlink them with Library services. Design/methodology/approach The current study performs a systematic and content-centric review of literature relevant to library services. The literature of this study is based on a six-stage approach to identify the design principles and technology trends of 4IR in education and Library services. Findings Industry 4.0 Revolution is the current trend of revolutionary technology, which has affected many services in this age of globalization. Similar, Library services have highly been affected by 4IR. An effort has been made to highlight the vari-ous challenges being faced by libraries and librarians in this age of information. Some solutions have been presented to the library professionals to overcome this technology to boost its services up to the entire satisfaction of the patrons. Research limitations/implications The strategic approach in this study can serve the academicians and practitioners in the field of librarianship as a stepping stone to develop a successful transition from traditional manufacturing into the industry 4.0. Originality/value The study is among the first to identify the challenges being faced by libraries and librarians in this age of Industrial revolutions.

This chapter presents a summary review of development of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Definitions of AI are given with basic features. The development process of AI and machine learning is presented. The developments of applications from the past to today are mentioned and use of AI in different categories is given. Prediction applications using artificial neural network are given for engineering applications. Usage of AI methods to predict optimum results is the current trend and it will be more important in the future.

AbstractAn overview of research in the areas of aerospace applications of artificial intelligence, expert Systems, neural networks and robotics is presented. Challenges associated with aerospace projects require increasingly complex aerospace Systems which in turn demand automation and fault tolerance. We have addressed these issues and provided a survey of the research on intelligent Systems that has been carried out in an attempt to meet these challenges. The application areas we have overviewed include fault monitoring and diagnosis, generation and management of power in space, efficient and effective command and control, operations and maintenance of space stations, planning and scheduling, automation, and cockpit management.

AbstractThis paper describes the practical initiative to include Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Spanish educational system’s curriculum at an early age. This proposal is in line with the current trend of introducing AI in school curricula all over the world. To this end, we propose an Artificial Intelligence workshop for middle schools within the existing subject, Technology, Programming and Robotics. In order to test the suitability of introducing AI at an early age, we conducted the activities at a bilingual middle school in Madrid. As evaluation tools, a quiz and motivational study of the students concerning AI was carried out using Situational Motivational Scale (SIMS) before and after introducing the activities. Responses of 84 students were analysed and the conclusion was reached that it is slightly better to introduce AI at an early age.

The uniqueness of open and distance learning (ODL) lies in its wide reach to a large audience simultaneously in different locations. No better system than geospatial data and artificial intelligence technologies (GDAITs) can achieve this. Globally, the current trend is to use GDAITs to improve the quality of life and productivity. Education is important for any country’s economy as it enhances the overall life expectancy. Application of GDAITs in educational sector, through broadcast digitization, publishing technologies will record greater achievements in the standard of learning and the literacy of populations. At certain ages in life, people develop apathy towards learning, thus, they are cut off from additional education that could provide them with lifelong learning. With GDAITs, they can be reached with quality education anywhere. Students have constraints of time, space, and finance, for acquisition of study materials. GDAITs are able to create and deploy seamless applications which can collapse these constraints and improve the learning curves of learners. This study investigates the exposure of youths to GDAITs and the influence on their learning patterns. Gerbner’s cultivation theory serves as the theoretical framework. A survey of 200 undergraduate Nigerian students was conducted, using random sampling technique. Findings show that Nigerian youths are highly exposed to GDAITs. THw paper concludes that GDAITs contribute positively and negatively to development in diverse human activities. However, it is highly effective in fostering communication education and research in Nigeria. It recommended that information and communication technology should be taught at all levels of education, so that Nigerians can develop critical minds to distinguish what GDAITs can and cannot do. Media houses should continue to establish platforms to check fake news emanating from social media. Also, attention needs to be focused on media content to ensure that there are enough programmes that would enhance communication education in Nigeria, without fake news parasitism. Keywords: GDAITs, Communication education, Learning processes, Social media, Digitization

Implementation of construction project needs a proper planning and scheduling is of vital importance for the project to be executed and run smoothly. A best schedule has to be prepared in such a way that meets the primary objectives of the total project. Those essential destinations are to make a quality venture, finished on time, inside spending plan, and in a sheltered workplace. Consequently in this investigation a progressing development venture is taken and the execution of the undertaking is contrasted and the calendar with the assistance of Primavera. With the help of management tool like primavera, one can manage the scheduling, resource allocation and also time management in a proper and easy way.
