Well-being is of vital importance for individuals as well as society at large. UNs Sustainability Goal #17, ‘Partnership for the Goals', support co-creation and co-production as necessary approaches to reach public values such as citizenship, social justice, and well-being. However, co-creation and co-production is not enough. It is necessary to address who participates in co-creation, how they participate, and how participation affects outcomes. Inclusive participation in everyday life, public services, and democracy is crucial to achieve active citizenship and well-being for all. This chapter will discuss how voices of citizens in marginalized and vulnerable life situations needs to be included and recognized in democracy and public sector practices as well as in decision-making processes. The chapter suggests how public sector organisations can promote active citizenship, valued social roles, and well-being through participation in co-creation of public values, placing well-being for all and social justice at the forefront of public value co-creation.

The objective of the present investigation was to assess the perception quality of municipal sports services of the city of Allende, Nuevo León, Mexico. For the analysis of the data the statistical software SPSS v.24 was used. The instrument used was SERVQUAL, adapted to the Mexican sports context, which consists of 22 items grouped into 5 dimensions (tangible, empathy, reliability, responsiveness and safety). The sample of this study was 100 subjects, in a range of 16 to 60 years, of which 57 (51.6%) belong to the male gender and 43 (48.4%) to the female gender. The descriptive and correlation analyzes of the sample were carried out. Among the results obtained, the study presents acceptable quality values for said municipal complex. In conclusion, the evaluation, monitoring of the objectives and indicators of the municipal sports services are of vital importance to perform an adequate follow-up of the expectations, perception and satisfaction of its users, which will make municipal sports management more efficient.

This research work deals with traffic accidents that are very concurrent in several countries, which in turn contribute to the mortality rate from 19 to 25 years of age and up. In the research work, immediate notifications for traffic accidents were carried out through a mobile application (app) where it will have an emergency button which will help the injured a lot, since the nearest help centers such as the police, fire brigades and the nearest hospitals, so that they can provide support to the people who suffered the accident. In the project, the implementation of Scrum Methodology was used since it served us an amount for the development of the prototypes of the App, and in turn with their roles it did not serve much help for the project, however, passers-by are of vital importance already that they will be the ones to make said report when observing a traffic accident and thus notify the nearest aid centers. As data collection for the creation of the software functions, a survey was carried out with more than 30 people, the functions applied in the application were programmed with the Dart language and generated under the flutter tool in order to be able to distribute it on different platforms such as Play Store and AppStore. The results obtained were the most anticipated since the application fulfills its function, thus reducing deaths and improving the speed of attention to traffic accidents and thus saving a life that is in danger.

To transform society and to assess the role music education could play, it is crucial to know how society works. When discussing music education and social change, the mechanism of society and the dynamics of transformation are rarely discussed. Thus, this chapter presents three perspectives on how society can be transformed, namely the sociology of social change, the politics of change, and the utopian power of education. The notion of utopia is present in these three viewpoints, connecting the various perspectives on society’s transformative processes. The last section explicitly raises the issue of the utopian power of education which has often been forgotten in education, even though it is of vital importance.

Localization is a process of adopting a culture and/or the reflection of a culture, what is true for Odia literature is more or less true for literature from other states also. Globalization, in many subtle ways, devalues the “local” and encourages a homogenization of culture. Here, localization has a role to play in establishing the uniqueness of the “local,” in this instance Odisha or India. Localization assumes vital importance for it establishes a dialogue between language and culture and acquaints communities with other ways of looking at life and experience. Localization is the force that makes it possible to imagine such a map—a map that, when fully sketched, would represent a wonderland of literary riches from diverse languages, all made intelligible to one another. In this paper, to understand the above things along with how the factors of localization components affect cultural ethos, we have adopted the iceberg model of culture and catalyzed it upon an eighteenth-century Odia classic Chatura Binoda, the masterpiece of poet Brajanath Badajena by localizing the same to Hindi language and as a result, determine how the deep-rooted cultural ethos is being loosened irrespective of the knowledge of both language and culture.

Tugboats are of vital importance in ports where a significant portion of world trade takes place. Selection of a tugboat that suitable for different operations in a port is a challenging problem that requires many different criteria to be evaluated at the same time. This selection requires high experience as well as technical knowledge of the tugboats and the operations to be carried out. In the present paper, an integrated model for evaluation and selection of tugboats is given. Based on the statistical data available in the study, assessment of the effect of different criteria on different harbour tugboats categorized according to the propulsion systems were carried out. The criteria for the tugboat alternatives were assessed through a questionnaire by subject-matter-experts containing comparative technical, financial and operational questions. The weights of each criteria were calculated using fuzzy Shannon’s entropy and fuzzy TOPSIS was utilized to rank the alternatives. Finally, the most suitable tugboat according to propulsion system was selected.

AbstractGroup testing has recently become a matter of vital importance for efficiently and rapidly identifying the spread of Covid-19. In particular, we focus on college towns due to their density, observability, and significance for school reopenings. We propose a novel group testing strategy which requires only local information about the underlying transmission network. By using cellphone data from over 190,000 agents, we construct a mobility network and run extensive data-driven simulations to evaluate the efficacy of four different testing strategies. Our results demonstrate that our group testing method is more effective than three other baseline strategies for reducing disease spread with fewer tests.

Abstract We propose an oxygen scavenging technique based on thermodynamic considerations of metal and oxygen systems to stabilize the ferroelectric phase and enhance the ferroelectricity in Hf-based oxides. By using an oxygen scavenging metal to control the oxygen vacancy concentration in Hf-based oxides, the effect of this oxygen scavenging technique in ferroelectric Hf-based oxides was systematically investigated. It was revealed that controlling the oxygen vacancies during the crystallization process is of vital importance to stabilizing the ferroelectric properties. This oxygen scavenging technique is an effective method of improving the performance of Hf-based ferroelectric materials without employing any dopant in HfO2.
