In the process of work an assessment of the characteristics of the epizootic manifestation of quarantine diseases of animals and poultry as well as the risks of their occurrence and spread were made. On the territory of the Russian Federation are registered more than 30 nosological forms of infections, infestations and foodborne toxicological infections. According to the research, the epizootic situation in Krasnodar region regarding quarantine infections remains stable, despite the registration of 755 adverse areas for quarantine infections over a 10 year observation period. Since 2013, the number of adverse areas has decreased from 119 to 32. A similar trend is observed in the decrease in the linear trend of the focal incidence from 102.3 to 10.1. The highest focal index for the study period was found in cases of avian influenza 112.9, African swine fever 105.3 and bovine leucosis -55.8. An increased risk of the occurance of the diseases of this group on the territory of Krasnodar region exists in marchapril-may, june and august.

The article presents the results of an ecological test of selection numbers of fiber-flax (Linum usitatissimum L.), bred in the conditions of the North-Western region, on the yield of flax fiber and the parameters of adaptability in the conditions of the Central Non-chernozem region. We tested 3 variety numbers: LS-1, LS-2 and LS-3. As a standard, we used a highly productive Impulse variety zoned in the region, of domestic selection, which was entered in the State Register of Breeding Achievements in 2003. According to the results of the studies, high adaptability in combination with potential productivity was obtained in the number of fiber-flax LS – 3 (1,14). Under variable meteorological conditions, the LS – 2 variety number and the Impulse variety had high resistance to stress (- 0.21 - 0.02, respectively). The most productive in contrast conditions was LS-3 (1.84 t / ha). The numbers LS – 1 (2.20) and LS – 3 (1.60) were the most responsive to the improvement of cultivation conditions.

The article presents results of the analysis of experimental-theoretical researches and dynamic tests of the composite steel-concrete superstructures of bridges in St. Petersburg, the Leningrad Region and the North-Western region of the Russian Federation. The authors analyzed the theoretical foundations of the coefficient of reduction of the calculated resistances γw, the real spectra of the forced vibrations of the most loaded elements, and made recommendations on the need to take into account the parameters that affect the actual dynamic loading and durability of bridge structures.

The Russian Federation has a developed system of inland waterways (IWW) [1]. This system consists of 15 basins. Winter conditions are very harsh in some basins. Such basins, for example, include the Lena Basin. But in some basins, even in winter, conditions that block navigation do not form. These basins include the Volga-Baltic. However, during the extension of the navigation period in such basins, it should be borne in mind that the navigation safety system will have to be upgraded. This paper discusses some aspects, the introduction of which forms the prerequisites for extension of the navigation period on the waterways of the North-Western region of the Russian Federation. In addition, specific recommendations are provided for the implementation of the necessary automated systems to ensure a sufficient level of navigation in winter conditions on the IWW. These recommendations were obtained within the framework of the international project INFUTURE.

The authors studied the possibility of cultivating fireweed in a grass mixture with nettle dioecious in the conditions of the North-Western region of the Russian Federation. It has been stated that both plants begin to grow immediately after snowmelt. The blooming phase of nettle begins simultaneously with that of fireweed. As the plants grow and develop in a grass mixture, the suppression of fireweed is noted. In the third year of life, nettle stalks were higher than those of fireweed. During the period of research, the productivity of the grass mixture was lower than that of pure fireweed plantings by 1.3 t/ha. In the single-species option, the amount of protein and the amount of metabolizable energy were 348 kg/ha and 19.5 GJ/ha respectively, which is 42 kg/ha and 2.5 GJ/ha higher than in the grass mixture. Nettle dioecious forms dense bushes in the third year of growing. Fireweed turns out to be in unfavorable conditions: its growing energy decreases, it comes into the blooming phase earlier and its suppression from the coenosis by nettle becomes evident.

One of the first operations in the technology of post-harvest processing of a combine heap is preliminary cleaning, which makes it possible to increase the flowability of the material and reduce the cost of drying. In the farms of the North-Western region of the Russian Federation, the grain heap coming from the fields to the processing lines of grain-cleaning and drying complexes is characterized by increased grain mass contamination (15 ... 20%) and a multicomponent composition of trash, which, along with an increase in the moisture content of the grain heap, has a negative effect on the efficiency of the pre-cleaning machines. At grain cleaning and drying points, machines of various designs are used for preliminary grain cleaning. In most cases, they are not intended for separating small weed fractions and separating feed grain, when cleaning a heap with a moisture content of 26 ... 30% or more, their productivity decreases 1.5 ... 2 times. As a result, the wellness of the grain mass is sharply reduced, which in turn reduces the efficiency of storage bins, dryers, as well as machines for primary and secondary grain cleaning. Fundamentally new approaches to the development of designs for grain pre-cleaning machines are required. They must have a high productivity for the coordinated and efficient operation of the entire technological line, as well as carry out preliminary cleaning of grain with its simultaneous separation into feed and seed fractions. Heap cleaners are needed that are capable of separating clean forage from the grain heap already at the first operation, so that it does not need to be additionally cleaned of large weeds and sand, but only needs to be dried on a separate technological line. The pre-cleaner must have a developed air-sieve system and have perfect under-sowing sieves to separate small weed seeds
