Rembang Regency is one of the biggest catching fish producing regions in Central Java. Abundant marine fisheries products encourage the development of processed fish products. There are 2,740 Fish Processing Units, but most are still dominated by small and medium scale areas. Activities in the fish processing unit have a positive impact on the economy of the community, but on the side it raises new problems such as a decrease in environmental quality. Indonesia through Law Number 32 of 2009 concerning Environmental Protection and Management includes participatory principles as one of the principles in the formulation of every policy related to the environment. This study aims to analyze the level of community participation and perception in environmental management in the fish processing unit in Kaliori District. This research is descriptive qualitative. The data used are primary and secondary data. The results obtained indicate that the community's perception of environmental management is quite good, but community participation in environmental management in the area of fish processing units in Kaliori District is still relatively low

Tittle: The Impact of Announcement on The Mis-used of Formalin in Marine and Fisheries SectorResearch on impact of mis-used of formalin in marine and fisheries sector have been done in 2006. The aim of the research was to show the impact of announcement on the mis-used of formalin to producers and consumers. Policy analysis approach was used as the method of study. Primary and secondary data were formulated accordingly to meet the requirement of the policy analysis, that is impact of media release on both side of producers and consumers. Verified data and field survey processed descriptively to build logical interpretation. The locations of study were specified in purpose to represent the center of handling and processing of fisheries product indicated with formalyn abuse. These location were West Java (Karawang), Central Java (Semarang), DKI Jakarta and Bandar Lampung. The results of study showed that the negative impacts of the news on formalin abuse to the producers were decreasing on demand of catch and processed fish products, which in turn reduce the income of the fisherman and fish processors. On the other side, the consumer shift their preference to other products such as tempe, tofu and eggs. The positive impacts to the fisherman and fish processors were the knowledge of the danger of formalin abuse on their products and they avoid to use the chemical. The positive impact on fish consumers were the awareness on formalin use on health arose and temporary their fish consumption shifted to the aqucultured fish which sold in living form.

Abstract Increased competition has demanded the adaptation of SMEs to environmental changes and challenges for the success of companies in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to analyze the strategy and contingency power of SMEs of fish processing units in reaching the level of sustainability. The object of the research is the SMEs of fish processing units in Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi. This type of research is qualitative, which is descriptive by using case study techniques. Data collection techniques through field observations, in-depth interviews, and related documents. The results of this study indicate that the sustainability level of SMEs of the boneless milkfish processing unit in Pinrang Regency is proactive towards the continuity of production, continuity of sales, and continuity of raw material procurement. The sustainability of SMEs of fish processing units is shown by its ability to surf in chaotic dynamics. SMEs of fish processing units which have a high level of sustainability has been able to build an input process-output system dynamically so that it has contingency power and appropriate strategies in dealing with environmental dynamics. The contributing factor to the unsustainability of SMEs of fish processing units is the low ability to; build systems to be able to establish contingencies with the external environment. To improve and maintain its level of sustainability, the SMEs of fish processing units are improving the input-process-output system dynamically, optimizing contingency power with the task environment as well as with the political, economic, social, cultural, technological and natural environment.

Ghana has witnessed a wave of mergers and acquisitions (M & As) in the banking industry following the bank recapitalization initiative by the government in 2008. This raises an important question concerning the trade-off between the possible efficiency gains and efficiency losses as banks merge into one large unit. The objective of this study was to find out how Mergers & Acquisitions have impacted service quality of consolidated banks in Ghana. A descriptive and explanatory design was adopted as the study sought to describe customer perceived service quality and to also explain the relationship between M & As and service quality. An ANOVA and T-tests techniques were used to analyze primary and secondary data gathered. Findings from the study indicated that M & As had positive impact on overall service quality. The conclusion drawn by the researchers indicates that mergers and acquisitions offer superior growth and financing option for banks. This in turn promotes economic efficiency through improvements in costs and services delivery.

Abstract The positive impact of coal mining has been reported to increase the country's economy and community income. However, the negative impact is found to be reducing the physical and chemical parameters of air, noise, soil and spontaneous combustion quality, therefore, having the potential to decrease environmental quality. Environmental management is often carried out to improve the physical and chemical parameters of societal quality, in order to match the required standards, therefore, resulting in sustainable coal mining. The management has also created environmental costs, as an externality of coal mining activities. Based on the technical assessment conducted, the results showed that environmental management at Tarahan Port Unit of PT BUKIT ASAM Persero Tbk, has been implemented in accordance with the Environmental Management/Monitoring Plan (RKL/RPL) documents, as well as the prevailing Indonesian laws and regulations. The physical and chemical parameters were observed to have met the standards of environmental quality, for a sustainable community. However, the economical assessment showed a mismatch between planned and realized environmental management costs. The funds used in the second quarter increased by IDR. 121,183,548 or 102.02%, compared to the realization program in that of the first. This increase was due to the construction of a dust suppression system and an operational chimney for the 2X8 MW Steam Power Plant, via the use of Electrostatic Precipitators. This research recommended a detailed inventory of environmental cost plans and escalation, in order to anticipate risk factors. And also help in carrying out machine maintenances, which are known to produce emissions on a regular basis. Therefore the emission produced were observed to be decreased, with the funds for managing and monitoring the environment also reduced.
