Problem statement. The purpose of this study is to create a methodology for designing a residential three-rayed space-planning structure for small and medium-rise buildings. The methodology was created for the central and southern insolation zones of Russia in the conditions of sanitary standards of 2017. The methodology is applicable in countries located in both hemispheres of our planet with mirrored conditions of the Russian insolation standards. Results. A methodology has been developed that creates many types of «daughter» residential sections based on a single «T-shaped» three-rayed residential section, which is called the «maternal». The applied result of the research was of 27 planimetric methods of architectural combinatorics and kinetics, as well as two patents. The presented methods are implemented in brick structures during the reconstruction of the residential quarter No. 75 in the historical center of the Russian city of Menzelinsk in the Republic of Tatarstan. Conclusions. The significance of the results obtained for architecture lies in energy-efficient design, expressed in a reduction design time and an increase the types of «daughter» residential sections. The methodology was created for the future computer program for the design of multi-rayed structures of residential buildings of various storeys.

The paper introduces the analysis of interrelation of a space planning solution with energy efficiency of building envelops and building structures insolation. The aim of the research is to find out an energy-efficient planning solution for a definite construction area, that of Samara city. The authors compare buildings key dimensions and introduce their energy performance certificates. Heat losses through front building envelops are also calculated. The paper concludes that from the standpoint of their energy efficiency corridor-type arrangements are preferable to tower blocks.

Grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) system efficiency can be maximized with building demand matching. Computer simulations were used to investigate the priorities of energy efficient measures commonly used in residential and commercial buildings in Thailand that decreased the electricity demand while producing load profiles that matched the unique output profiles from PV systems. Residential and commercial buildings in Thailand were modeled in existing conditions. Then they were made compliant with ASHRAE energy standard requirements which can reduce electricity consumption 16-36% in residential buildings and 8-19% in commercial buildings. With energy efficient design measures, electricity production from PV systems could satisfy the remaining consumption and peak electricity demand reduction could reach up to 70% in residential buildings. Electricity consumption and peak demand reduction in commercial buildings was not high. Reducing lighting power density in residential buildings, using higher glazing efficiency in small offices and using thermal mass in big offices were found to be able to reduce more peak load when electricity output from PV systems were incorporated in the buildings compared with other measures. Energy efficient design measures suitable for different purposes in each building type have been identified. Building owners and electricity utilities can use this information to select the best energy efficient design measures that fit their objectives.

The ideology of ensuring energy-efficient design and construction of buildings by providing minimum requirements is the core objective of this work. Energy audit was conducted to improve the design of the building with incremental requirements to further enhance the energy efficiency. The Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) has been modified extensively over the years, starting from its initial deployment in the year 2011 to its latest modifications in the year 2019. The energy conservation standards in ECBC apply to building envelope, heating ventilation, air conditioning, lighting, service water heating, and electric power distribution. It should also be ensured that all-electric systems, transformers, energy-efficient motors, and diesel generators must meet the regulated set of mandatory requirements. From among the various software types that have been approved for ECBC design and application, this study has employed Energy Plus software to simulate the design based on the given input and the selected location. The location that has been chosen for this study was Bhubaneshwar, India. All necessary details ranging from latitude, longitude, weather, time zone, elevation, building area, lighting, heating, cooling, and much more have been covered in the simulation. Utilizing ECBC regulated standards for an energy-efficient building design has resulted in an increase in the energy savings by 27.4%, and thus, the building qualifies to be regarded as an ECBC compliant building.

A significant reserve of improving the energy efficiency of the economy of the Republic of Belarus is the housing sector. The paper explores approaches to improving the energy efficiency of residential buildings, analyses barriers to the development of technologies that increase the energy efficiency of residential buildings, and suggests ways to overcome them. An effective tool for the development of an economic mechanism for increasing the energy efficiency of residential buildings is the use of the Catalogue of Options, which is a systematized reference book that includes a database of equipment, materials, structures and technologies, as well as indicators of their energy efficiency and economic efficiency.

Housing is derived from the word house which means a place that has a place to live which will stay or stop in a certain time. Housing is a residence that has been grouped into a place that has facilities and infrastructure. The problem in this study focuses on the type of residential ownership in the form of SHM ART, SHM Non ART, NON SHM and others. These four types can be used to know the percentage of ownership in all provinces in Indonesia. Due to the fact that there is still a lot of information about the type of certificate ownership, there is still not much ownership. Therefore, the use of the k-Means algorithm as a data mining concept in the form of clusters, where the data already has parameters or values that fall into the category of unsupervised learning. That data produced the best. The data was obtained from published sources of the Republic of Indonesia government agency, namely the Central Statistics Agency data with the category of household processing with self-owned residential buildings purchased from developers or non-developers by province and type of ownership in 2016 throughout Indonesia. In conducting the dataset, researchers used the RapidMiner application as a clustering process application. This research shows that there are more types of ownership in the SHM ART, but for other values it is still smaller than the value in other types of ownership which is the second largest value. So, in this case, the role of government in providing assistance in the process of ownership in order to become SHM ART is very important.
