Over 30 years there has been no comprehensive understanding of the mechanism of soft photons (energy smaller than 50 MeV) formation. Experimental data indicate an excess of their yield in hadron and nuclear interactions in comparison with calculations performed in QED. For a more thorough study of this phenomenon at the Nuclotron (a superconducting accelerator in JINR), preliminary measurements have been carried out with using an electromagnetic calorimeter based on BGO crystals. These results are consistent with the world data. In JINR, in connection with the building of a future accelerator complex NICA, it has become possible to carry out such studies in pp, pA and AA interactions at energies up to 25 A GeV. Our group develops the conception of an heterogeneous electromagnetic calorimeter as “spaghetti” and “shashlik” types based on gadolinium gallium garnet (GaGG) crystals with a low threshold for registration of photons. The first tests of prototypes of them manufactured at JINR on the basis of the GaGG and a mixture of tungstate and copper as an absorber are reported.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of Foreign Direct Investment, Gross Domestic Product, Energy Consumption, Electric Consumption, and Meat Consumption on CO2 emissions of 41 countries in the world using panel data from 1999 to 2013. After analyzing 41 countries in the world data, furthermore 17 countries in Asia was analyzed with the same period. This study utilized quantitative approach with Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression method. The results of 41 countries in the world data indicates that Foreign Direct Investment, Gross Domestic Product, Energy Consumption, and Meat Consumption significantlyaffect Environmental Qualities which measured by CO2 emissions. Whilst the results of 17 countries in Asia data implies that Foreign Direct Investment, Energy Consumption, and Electric Consumption significantlyaffect Environmental Qualities. However, Gross Domestic Product and Meat Consumption does not affect Environmental Qualities.

Photography can be used for pleasure and art but can also be used in many disciplines of science, because it captures the details of the moment and can serve as a proving tool due to the information it preserves. During the period of the Apollo program (1969 to 1972), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) successfully landed humans on the Moon and showed hundreds of photos to the world presenting the travel and landings. This paper uses computer simulations and geometry to examine the authenticity of one such photo, namely Apollo 17 photo GPN-2000-00113. In addition, a novel approach is employed by creating an experimental scene to illustrate details and provide measurements. The crucial factors on which the geometrical analysis relies are locked in the photograph and are: (a) the apparent position of the Earth relative to the illustrated flag and (b) the point to which the shadow of the astronaut taking the photo reaches, in relation to the flagpole. The analysis and experimental data show geometrical and time mismatches, proving that the photo is a composite.

Hodgkin-Huxley (HH) equation is the first cell computing model in the world and pioneered the use of model to study electrophysiological problems. The model consists of four differential equations which are based on the experimental data of ion channels. Maximal conductance is an important characteristic of different channels. In this study, mathematical method is used to investigate the importance of maximal sodium conductanceg-Naand maximal potassium conductanceg-K. Applying stability theory, and takingg-Naandg-Kas variables, we analyze the stability and bifurcations of the model. Bifurcations are found when the variables change, and bifurcation points and boundary are also calculated. There is only one bifurcation point wheng-Nais the variable, while there are two points wheng-Kis variable. The (g-Na,  g-K) plane is partitioned into two regions and the upper bifurcation boundary is similar to a line when bothg-Naandg-Kare variables. Numerical simulations illustrate the validity of the analysis. The results obtained could be helpful in studying relevant diseases caused by maximal conductance anomaly.

We have previously developed a model of the corticogeniculate system to explore cortically induced synchronization of lateral geniculate nucleus (LGN) neurons. Our model was based on the experiments of Sillito et al. Recently Brody discovered that the LGN events found by Sillito et al. correlate over a much longer period of time than expected from the stimulus-driven responses and proposed a cortically induced slow covariation in LGN cell membrane potentials to account for this phenomenon. We have examined the data from our model, and we found, to our surprise, that the model shows the same long-term correlation. The model's behavior was the result of a previously unsuspected oscillatory effect, not a slow covariation. The oscillations were in the same frequency range as the well-known spindle oscillations of the thalamocortical system. In the model, the strength of feedback inhibition from the cortex and the presence of low-threshold calcium channels in LGN cells were important. We also found that by making the oscillations more pronounced, we could get a better fit to the experimental data.

In Ukraine, as elsewhere in the world, feline calicivirus is one of the most common infectious diseases of cats. The main reason is the continuous growth of infections in animal populations, and high recurrence interest of feline calicivirus in cats that have undergone treatment. In addition, nowadays, it is a chronic disease. Therefore, according to existing treatment regimens, there is a need to develop new, more effective, aimed at the elimination of the pathogen through the appointment of immunomodulators, antibiotics with simultaneous application of specific medicine, including hyperimmune serum against feline calicivirus.The article presents experimental data on the study of various schemes of complex treatment for feline calicivirus using Fosprenil, Tylozine and specific hyperimmune serum against feline calicivirus. Apart from antigenic reaction, medical hyperimmune serum show immunomodulatory properties. It is proved that the use of specific globulin at a dose of 2 ml per animal in the treatment of cats increases the effectiveness of therapy by 25% compared with the use of schemes that included only antibiotic and immune modulator. At the same time, it is known, that the use of globulin without antibiotics and immunomodulators does not show high therapeutic efficacy.
