In the context of the new economy, the new vectors of competitiveness of companies in the aerospace industry organized within efficient ecosystems (EFECO) will be based more on knowledge. These are Industry 4.0 and the decarbonization of production based on knowledge management (KM). These two levers will be the foundations of the transformation of the aeronautical supply chain in the future. For their implementation, we made a case study on a non-probability sample of 17 partners. At the end of this investigation, we propose implementing a new generation of transversal ecosystems within the framework of a new Industrial Acceleration Plan 2.0. This new form of organization will facilitate a collaborative sharing of knowledge between all the ecosystemic components with a view to innovation. Starting from the Industrial Acceleration Plan ( IAP) (2014-2020), we will make our proposal based on a knowledge management approach. In this context, our epistemological posture will be interpretative with a constructivism arranged. Our methodological approach will be qualitative. Our study will be in line with a perspective of proactivity and supposition.

In large parts of Europe, the development of healthcare is subject to contrasting forces: explosion in spending, while governments are faced with budget constraints, and pressures to be innovative, technologically advanced in order to improve the services’ quality. Even though e-procurement initatives can be seen as a solution to the first issue in this dilemma, such initiatives have not been widely deployed and have not delivered the expected benefits so far. In this perspective, as case study of an e-procurement implementation of an Italian local healthcare agency has been examined because of the comprehensive design of the e-procurement system, the differentiation of tools adopted and the multiple solutions already implemented or in progress. The aim of this work is to reconstruct, by following a knowledge management approach, the steps that led to the introduction of e-procurement as a new operating practice, by redesigning supply purchasing, supply chain and logistic processes.

In the Web 2.0 and organization 2.0 era, implementing Knowledge Management Systems (KMS) in Supply Chain (SC) in companies should contribute to gain sustainable competitive advantage. Using a case-study in an Italian SME (BONFIGLIOLI), this chapter seeks to propose new processes and recommendations to design and operate an efficient KMS for a SC at an intra-organizational level. This case study shows in particular the role of IT as an artifact implying individuals in organizational knowledge creation. It also shows that implementing KMS in SC makes SC actors change their cognitive scheme and work practices and calls for a new role of middle management.

In recent years, logistics outsourcing has shown a strong development. However, despite the benefits associated with logistics outsourcing, there are many relationships that do not last as long as they were initially planned. In this chapter the authors tried to sketch a conceptual model of Risk Management applied to logistics outsourcing and supported by a case study within aerospace industry. Their results show that Risk Management could be an innovative tool favoring the success of logistics outsourcing by securing future performance and relationships between supply chain partners.

Leading manufacturers that have advanced in the streamlining of internal processes are realising that the accomplishment of further performance gains implies stretching the deployment of process improvement efforts beyond their boundaries. In this context, there is a growing interest in extending mapping activities to inter-plant and inter-firm levels. However, research on the conditions under which such an initiative has actually been tackled in industry is still incipient. Based on multiple-case study method, this paper discusses some supply chain (SC) mapping initiatives undertaken in the Brazilian automotive industry. The study examines the major motivations, difficulties, and outcomes observed in the cases, as well as the methodological approach adopted in their realisation. The cases reveal that despite its intrinsic complexity, the SC mapping process provides invaluable opportunities to strengthen the SC capabilities. However, its adoption as a formal management method with strategic implications will depend on clearer understanding of its relevance and potentials.

This study aims to analyze the mapping of several supporting and inhibiting factors of knowledge management process in increasing the higher education capabilities of STAIN Gajah Putih. This study used case study as methodological approach by collecting data with interviews, observation, and documentation. The objects of this study are lecturer, staf and students. The result showed that; 1) The formation of a culture of knowledge sharing; 2) Facilities and infrastructure in supporting the process of knowledge management; 3) Public policy in using knowledge. In establishing capabilities based on the knowledge management process, STAIN Gajah Putih has fixed these deficiencies in terms of the knowledge management process by establishing good information validation, analyzing the needs of knowledge management process, and developing brainware through increasing the quantity and quality of human resources in the field of information technology.
